When he finally finds the perfect place for his new business, Cruz discovers a pastor and his daughter have already bought it. The only thing more irritating than the change in his plan is Talia, a beautiful and feisty argument in a dress. Cruz has always been the outcast in his small town of Kittle Falls. People have always been quick to judge him because of what he looks like on the outside. His dream has always been to open a tattoo parlor but when he approaches the town council they give him the run around. They see him as a trouble maker who will only bring shame and seedy characters to their small tourist town. But he is determined to make his dream come true and he refuses to give up. Just when he thinks they are finally okay with his shop he is duped and lied to by them. The building that he has chosen has been sold out from underneath him to a pastor and his daughter. How will he ever make his dream come true if everyone refuses to see past his exterior and see him for who he really is?

Talia and her father Allen move to the small town of Kittle Falls in search of a fresh start after her mother's sudden death. Her father is ready to make the move from assistant pastor to head pastor and has found the perfect building. It is in need of a lot of work but they are up for the challenge. Little did they know that part of that challenge would include the hurt and angry Cruz. They had no idea that the building had been promised to him before they purchased it. How can they get him to understand that they had nothing to do with what the council has done?

Allen is very understanding and reaches out to help Cruz in any way he can. But Talia isn't as trusting as her father is at first. She too was guilty of judging Cruz by his outer appearance. But when he's willing to help them do whatever he can, including halting the progress on his own shop, to open up their church as soon as possible she's quick to right her wrong. She slowly starts seeing the real Cruz and is drawn to him even more. But can two people from different walks of life really make a relationship work? Outside forces and insecurities will work double time to keep them apart but when it's meant to be, nothing and no one will stand in their way.

I have really enjoyed this series. It was a fun getaway and along the way I discovered a new author to add to my list! I have to admit I was sad to see this series just end. I would have loved an epilogue of some kind tying everything together and wrapping up all the lose ends. It would have been perfect! I am definitely looking forward to reading the next series... The Bayside Hunters! :)

And of course I cannot forget my casting! I am a bit in love with these two... ;) What do you think?!

This is a well written book and I enjoyed reading it. I had no problem following the story or the characters even though it is the fifth is a series. As it states, it is written to be a stand alone.

Cruz is a somewhat gritty character (a tattooed, smoking, motorcycle riding kind of guy) and for him to be paired with a pastor's daughter gave the story plenty of room for mishaps as well as an unexpected romance. I like how Cruz is trying to be a better person. He's trying to start his own business and move out of his parents house and he's trying to quit smoking. He also does a good job of trying to control his temper when faced with a nemesis from his past. He tries to talk himself out of falling for the pastor's daughter, Talia, because he doesn't think he's good enough for her. I liked how Talia and her dad (the pastor) show him that he's wrong. I loved the family dynamics and interaction with Cruz' family. Both Talia and Cruz are dealing with the loss of a family member which allows them to be sympathetic to the other's grief. All in all, this is a nice fast Christmas romance read.

Cruz Hunter had a hard time finding a place to open a tattoo parlor and finally has the okay from the town council of Kittle Falls to use an abandoned church. As he heads over to show it to his brother, Jake, he learns that this property has actually been sold to a pastor, Allen Tisdale, and his daughter, Talia. He's understandably upset since he was planning to live there as well and is now back to square one.

The pastor is accepting of Cruz right away but Talia isn't. They argue most of the time they're together. Until they start looking past exteriors and learn more about who the other person actually is.

Cruz is a tough man but seeing how he interacts with his family and friends makes him easy to love. He and his brother Zachary are the only two currently living at home and they like to pull pranks on each other which were pretty funny. Talia is healing from the recent loss of her mother and trying to make a new start. I enjoyed their interactions, both when they were fighting and when they got along.

This is the second book I've read in this series and it works well as a standalone. It's always fun to catch up with characters from previous books and see where they are, but reading this one first won't spoil any of the other stories. Cruz is the fifth and final Hunter brother to find love and next up are their cousins!

I received a copy of this book to review. My opinion is 100% my own.

This is a sweet romance that shows how two people, who appear to be completely different, can be attracted to each other and find happiness.

At first glance, Cruz Hunter would appear to be a rebel. He is an artist who loves tattoos. His dream is to open up his own tattoo parlor and pursue his artistic abilities. The town council and others are afraid that his parlor will attract unsavory characters to their small town and sell the building he had been promised out from under him. They sold it to a pastor and his daughter.

Talia has suffered emotionally from the passing of her mother. She and her pastor father are looking for a fresh start in a new town and are delighted with the old abandoned church they were able to purchase. They didn't realize that their dream would cause heartache to another.

One thing that I appreciated in this book was the harm in preconceived notions. Many judged Cruz because of his appearance. He even harshly judged himself. He is a wonderful guy who never believed that he measured up. I loved the message of looking past the outside appearance of another and finding their character and heart.

I enjoyed Stacy Claflin's writing style. She kept my interest and the book moved along at a nice past. This is a clean contemporary romance centered around the Christmas season.

This was a good read. Talia and her dad have just moved to town. They meet Cruz when they end up buying the building he wanted. Things didn't go well between them at first. However, by the end Cruz and Talia were in love. Too bad they had to deal with Julian's mess before they got there.

I received an eARC of this book from I Am a Reader as a part of a blog tour. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of this review.

Seaside Christmas
by Stacy Claflin is a sweet, contemporary romance about a very unlikely pairing. When Talia and her father buy the old church out from under the unsuspecting Cruz, Cruz will stop at nothing to get them to leave. But something about the preacher’s daughter has Cruz second guessing his game plan and he finds himself helping the pair get the old, nearly condemned church in working order just in time for Christmas.

I REALLY enjoyed this book! Talia is sweet, a bit naive, and fully devoted to her father. But she’s also grieving. Her mother’s gone and this is their first Christmas without her. I could easily relate to Talia (even though my mother is living) as she tries to be the strong one for her father and she throws everything she has into this church.

Cruz has this reputation as being the bad boy. He even tries to make himself sound gangster (really his “yo” and incorrect grammar are hardly what I’d call gangster, more annoying really). His dream is to open a tattoo parlor in his little hometown. He’s an amazing artist and definitely has the skill. But the town is against it and sells the building promised to him to the Talia and her father. He’s angry and rightfully so. I’d be angry too! At first I thought Cruz was selfish, his motives focusing on what he wanted instead of figuring out other avenues to start his business. He even goes as far as asking them to leave!!! BUT the preacher and his daughter quickly win him over and if I’m being honest I think Cruz is a bit of a teddy bear under all that ink.

The plot of the story focuses on the fledgling relationship between Cruz and Talia and also on the church. It really is no surprise that these two begin a relationship. The fun part of the story and what really drives the plot is the antagonism between the two main characters. They both want such different things, and their attraction towards one another drives them crazy. BUT it really is sweet and most definitely swoon-worthy!

Overall, I really liked the book! I personally haven’t read any of the other books in the Seaside Hunters series so I can vouch for it being read as a standalone and still making sense. However after reading it, I plan to go back and read the others. It is THAT good! If you enjoy contemporary romance (bonus it is clean!) or you’re looking for a quick holiday read, than look no further.

(4.5) I've followed this series from the beginning and have fallen in love with this family of five boys. I should say "men," I suppose, since they are all grown now and are all gradually making their way back home to their hometown of Seaside. Each book in the series can stand alone.

Each brother is so different from the next and bad boy, Cruz, has always intrigued me. Tatted up and ready to open his own tat parlor, he's a rough and tough kind of guy. When a building promised to him is sold from underneath him, he intends to talk the new owners out of using it for their church, but comes to find one of the nicest girls he's ever met--and her preacher father. How can this diamond in the rough be good enough her this family? Once Cruz's tough exterior is cracked open, a soft, gooey inside is found. I really liked him and how he would do anything for anyone. Appearances sure can be deceiving!

This story has a slight Beauty and the Beast feel to it, which is one of my favorite fairy tales. Talia is a darling girl, with a love of cleaning and books. I really liked her character and her zest for life. I love how she is able to accept people for who they truly are. Her father is an amazing man and I really love the way he is able to wrap everyone around him in wisdom and love.

The setting is fun--a small, touristy town that is now a bit more quiet with the summer season over with and the Christmas snows flying.

I felt like the ending was a bit rushed and the series wrapped up a little too quickly (I guess I wanted more), but I did enjoy the journey and loved seeing bits of the other brothers' lives. I'm looking forward to the spin-off series with the cousins.

Content: some mild violence (fighting); no language; some religious elements (it revolves around setting up a church and a preacher's daughter, but isn't preachy at all); mild romance (kissing). Clean!

This is such a fun series! I have really enjoyed every one of the books I have read. I still have one to go so technically I'm reading them out of order, but they are able to stand on their own. You don't have to read one to understand the other. However, it is fun to know the background of the other brothers when reading because then it feels like visiting old friends.

This book revolves around Cruz- one of five Hunter brothers. He may look like a tough guy, and he is, but he is also kind, hard working, helpful and loyal. I love how these books portray these brothers as separate but united. They have each other's backs- even as different as they all are.

Talia is a preacher's daughter. She and Cruz are opposites and yet, they aren't. Talia is a bit sheltered, a bit naive. Her life is the religious world her dad is involved in. In that way, Cruz and Talia are opposites. But just like Cruz, Talia is hard working, kind and helpful. She genuinely cares about people.

I enjoyed this story. I don't think it was my favorite one of the series, but it was good. This one had more Christian elements to it because obviously it is about a preacher and his daughter so I'm also adding this one to the Christian Fiction genre where the others have not been.

I'm super excited to read the next series by Stacy Claflin. It's going to revolve around a set of cousins to the Hunters. Fun! If you haven't had a chance to read this series, and you enjoy clean romance with a touch of something more (depending on the book), now's a great time to start this series. You don't have to wait for any of the books to come out!

Sometimes first impressions and judgements of a person are not always accurate. Cruz and Talia do not get along from the beginning. Cruz is setting up his own tattoo parlor by refurbishing an old hair salon and Talia is helping her father restore an old abandoned church. In book five of the Seaside Hunters series, Seaside Christmas, by Stacy Claflin, readers will experience the chemistry and romance between these two as they discover what true love really is. With relatable characters and an entertaining story, readers that enjoy contemporary romance, holiday fiction will love this story.

A fun, clean romance, I loved the contrast between the two main characters and how the story evolved around them. I especially like how real the characters feel, like they are having thoughts that anyone could have. There are a lot of fun moments in this book.

Very juvenile style of writing with artificial dialogues that sometimes made me roll my eyes. Recommended only to people looking for a simple christmas story (with not very realistic plot).

A classic tale of how first impressions can be very misleading. Cruz is a tattoo artist looking to open his own shop in his hometown. Since he was a troublemaker in school & is now covered in tattoos, no one trusts him. They think he'll bring the wrong element into the town.

Talia & her father are new to town. After the tragic death of her mother, they decided to open a new church. Unfortunately, that church is in the building Cruz thought he was buying. His reaction, along with his appearance, caused Talia to form a horrible first impression.

Can Cruz find another building for his shop? Does Talia change her mind about him? The writer does an excellent job conveying the emotions the characters are feeling. In the opening scenes, you can feel Cruz's anger, disappointment & hurt come through every sentence. She addresses how initial appearances can really give you a false sense of what the person is like & that it's better to get to know the person & give them a chance. Seaside Christmas is an excellent story & I really enjoyed it.

I enjoyed this story of a rough, tattooed, motorcycling artist falling in love with a pastor's daughter. When Cruz loses his building to the pastor, he has dinner with him and his daughter, Talia. If looks could kill Cruz and Talia would be dead. Cruz tries to talk them into selling the building to him. It is a resounding , No. As Cruz gets roped into helping them fix up the church, he and Talia will figure out that looks can be deceiving and opposites attract. When clean cut, church boy, Tristan tries to come between them, he will let his true colors show as a sheep in wolf's clothing. There was a lot of substance to this story and the wonders of love making us want to be a better person. This is a voluntary review of an advance copy.

Sweet and insightful

This is definitely one of my favorites by Stacy Claflin. The characters are multi-dimensional and relatable. I really enjoy how the author talked about different perceptions, and how people don't always fit into the boxes that others (sometimes even family) think they should. I loved this sweet romance from Stacy Claflin and look forward to more by her. It was sweet, clean, I'd rate it PG.

These opposites have more in common under the surface than meets the eye…literally!
Rough around the edges and inked up Cruz just needs a break. It’s not going to happen…or is yet another fate in store? Sassy Talia is an unexpected wind in his sails and he’s not the best sailor! Their conflict and banter will make you smile. The Christmas setting is perfect to highlight both of their giving selves…excellent ending!

I really loved the story of another Hunter-brother. I also read the first one of this series, but not the others. It was great to get to know one of the other brothers better. And not having read part 2-4 was no problem for this story.
It was a beautiful love story set during the Christmas time.
I read it as part of “Advent: 24 Days of Christmas”-box set.

Cruz is a diamond in the rough. Thats how any great romance goes. Peel back the layers and what you find is amazing. I like Cruz a lot, tough when he needs to be but a big softy when it comes to those he love. I really love an unlikely pairing. Great story of family and the true meaning of the holiday season.

Sweet Christmas Love Story

This story was sweet too read. I loved the interaction between the two main characters.
I loved how the author took two totally different people and wove a beautiful story of acceptance and love.
This is part of a series of books but I didn't feel lost or confessed since I've not read the other ones.
Fun book to read during this holiday season.

Sweet romance, but rushed ending

I really liked the sweet romance of Cruz and Talia. They start out on the wrong foot, but decide to try again and find out they really like each other. Then all of a sudden they decide to get engaged after just a few weeks, and then, boom, story is over without a real ending.

Very good reading!!

It was enjoyable to have some suspense mixed in with the normal trials of new romance. Often romance stories just deal with only the feelings of doubt each person has as to whether they are good enough for the other or does the other even like them for the person they are.
Very enjoyable, thanks Stacy!

I really enjoyed this book. The small town feel is always my favorite environment for romances. All of the characters are great, except for the one I hated so much that I wanted to punch him whenever I saw his name. Though this is part of a series, it can be read as a stand abalone. I will definitely be reading the other books in the series.

Touching

Talks & her father move to Ketle Falls to open his own church after the loss of his wife when she was killed. But Cruz was going to buy the building and turn half into his tattoo shop and the other half his home. Little did he know that was fate that bringing him someone for his heart.

As I get older I find books like this more difficult to read. The story & plot are good. Real characters, real issues on target. I can't stand the small mindedness & belittling of characters based on old thoughts & prejudices. That ruined the read completely for me.
