Robert Vaughan - Chaney Brothers Bk 2 – The Chaney Edge - Reviewed 8/1/19 Outlaws, ghosts and a continued search for a murderer!
We follow the brothers Lance and Buck Chaney on their continued pursuit of the culprit that murdered their sister and stole the Union’s/Confederate Gold. While Buck is on a West Texas train they run into a problem with an outlaw that has plans of robbing it and the passengers. Buck kills two of the gunmen but Rufus Blanton, the gang leader, gets away with nothing but his life but swears revenge on Buck and his brother.
What did I like? This is turning into a really great series and I love the honor-bound brothers while they continue to search for Buck’s old commander that killed their sister. They are handsome, charming and wonderful characters.
What will you like? Exciting, thrilling, rousing and interesting action with remarkable characters that keep you totally glued to the pages. Excellent writing with a well-developed storyline that just keeps growing into more remarkable adventures for the brothers. The twists and turns that occur on their search and life will add to the fascinating read that includes impossible adventures, a few ghosts, and a little romance.
RV. has penned a western action adventure that begins in a train that is being robbed. Buck Chaney shoots two robbers and just missed the third. Then we switch to Lance Chaney and he is a Deputy Marshal. The train robber ends in LC. town and LC. Is wounded, but hidden and everyone told he had been killed. BC. Comes up with a plan to stop the train robber turned Marshal. He and his brother are going to play some trickery. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS
Good bad guys and believable good guys. Crime only pays good if you're a politician. When the Clintons started in politics they were w.orth less than 50K. Now the last number I read out them over 400 million dollars. America needs some way to find honest people for government service.
Another great follow-up story on the Chaney brothers. Excellent mystery with a fake death at the heart of the deception in getting a character to believe in ghosts.
The book has mean killers and stagecoach robbers and many outlaws. It also has two very different brothers. One fakes his death to catch a ruthless outlaw named Ruthless.
This book will hold your attention to the very end. It had a surprising ending and I can’t tell you about it without revilling the surprise. I enjoyed the read.
For the most part, it's OK. Definitely not as good as the first Chaney book though. Also, this one had an ending that drug out too long and became a little ridiculous in likelihood.
