A revised collection of the biographies of the highest scoring Allied fighter pilots of World War II. All details of their combat are arranged in tabular form. Included are a selection of photographs from hitherto private collections.
A massive book focusing on all the top wartime British, Commonwealth and Allied airmen serving in the RAF fighter pilots during World War 2. Most of these pilots were aces, but there are a few ones that are deemed worthy to be included here.
The book gives good background detail on the progress of the air war of World War 2 and of the different squadrons and flights that the pilots could have served in, this is to avoid repetition later on in the book. Then in alphabetical order the pilots are covered, some of the more well known pilots have longer bio's, but all of the more than 1200 gets a few paragraphs to cover their wartime service, along with his claims listed at the end of his bio. Also included are quite a few photos of some of the men so you can put a face with some names.
The book is a great index to learn more about these brave men who faced up to the Axis powers in some of the darkest days of the war, and is very well researched. Great read if you like World War 2 aerial warfare.
