Zeb Carter is back. This time it's personal.
'Surely one of the best action writers of the day.' Amazon review
Zeb Carter discovers the woman's body in a remote part of the country, while on vacation. The body cannot be identified. No one comes forward to claim it. No missing women match it.
He is prepared to leave the investigation to the authorities when he is asked to leave town.
Zeb Carter is a deep black agent with a U.S. government agency that officially doesn't exist. He hunts terrorists, international criminal gangs, drugs and people traffickers. He shuts down threats to U.S. national security.
In his business, back off is an order he issues.
He decides to get involved and enters a battlefield where his enemies are ruthless, well-trained, several steps ahead of him, and anonymous. They want him stopped. They want him dead. He doesn't know why.
He has come up against powerful and shadowy enemies before. He has faced down lethal assassins and terrorists. He has worked in hostile territory.
He has never come up against anyone like The Man, that too, in his own country.
USA Today Bestselling Author Ty Patterson has lived on a couple of continents and has been a trench digger, loose tea vendor, leather goods salesman, marine lubricants salesman, diesel engine mechanic and is now a thriller author.
Ty lives with his wife and son, who humor his ridiculous belief that he's in charge.

I want to thank Ty Patterson for an ARC of Behind You in exchange for an unbiased review.
Behind You is #6 in Ty Patterson’s action-packed Warrior series. I have read all 6 books and think this is one of his best. It focuses on Zeb Carter’s search to find the whos and the whys of the brutal rape/murder of a leading news journalist.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. Mr. Patterson wrote a terrific first chapter that pulled me in right off the bat: hook, line and sinker, and for the most part kept me engaged until the end. I thought the plot was well developed and executed--I actually experienced chills when I realized that the high profile crimes in this novel could actually happen in real life. I was also impressed with the author’s knowledge base of razzle-dazzle technology. The electronic toys on display in this novel are out of this world. Mr. Patterson also shows off a good understanding of the issues in the Middle East and some of the workings of the US government. He did his research well.
This story belongs to Zeb, the leader of the Warriors. I love Zeb, but I must say I missed the other Warriors who only had minor supporting roles in this installment. Mr. Patterson’s books are usually punctuated with humorous moments, for the most part emanating from the easy repartee amongst the eight Warriors working closely together, but we don’t see so much of that in Behind You. I will say that “Werner,” the all-knowing super computer, does supply some excellent levity, which had me laughing out loud. Mr. Patterson’s personalization of “Werner” is genius.
The flow of the story suffers a bit at times with so many side characters to keep track of. I was reading off a Word document, however, and I think if one has the benefit of the ereader search button, this problem would be mitigated.
I was disappointed that the author elected not to give us any more information regarding Zeb’s personal life. To his credit, he does make Zeb extremely likeable and easy to root for though we do not know that much about him as a person. I have to say though that Mr. Patterson does excel at what he does best, which is writing action-driven/plot-driven storylines. His action sequences are as good as I’ve seen anywhere.
If you find it difficult to suspend believability, then this series is not for you. But if you are willing to let go and follow the author’s lead, then you are in for an incredibly fun thrill ride. I always elect the latter route when I am holding a Patterson book, and at the end, I find myself wondering when the next book will be available. I am a beta reader for Ty Patterson, but that fact never affects how I write my reviews of his books. It has been a great experience watching him grow and develop into a fine author. If you have not read his works, consider giving him a shot. You might just get hooked.
It’s a myth that cats have nine lives. Or is it? Zeb Carter, Ty Patterson’s lead character in his Warrior series, is like a silent, stealthy panther. In Behind You, Patterson’s sixth in the string of action thrillers, Carter has a cat-like experience when it comes to meeting his demise. In what is perhaps the most testosterone-filled saga yet, the book begins with a graphic scene where a female reporter is assaulted – and worse. The message: “Back off.” What story is she working on that is such a threat?
Zeb is minding his own business, camping in the Bridger Wilderness in Wyoming, when he happens upon what turns out to be the grave of a murdered woman. The search for her killers turns out to be a dangerous mission. A shrewd, deadly assassin is killing selected targets around the world. Can Zeb and his team find him? Can they work their way through the complex web of thugs and middlemen to find out who is The Man?
Time and again, Zeb is outnumbered, yet he manages to come out on top. This makes him even more of a threat, a bigger target. His Warriors, particularly Roger and Bwana, are itching to get in on the action. They do, but I wish we had seen more of them. Most of the time, the group, especially Broker, Chloe, and the twins, are back in New York City doing intelligence work while Zeb is a one-man wrecking crew. He introduced some wonderful companions and fellow Warriors earlier in the series, but he seems reticent to assign bigger and better things to most of them. That, I think, is a shame, because Ty has created delightful, humorous, talented people who give an extra dimension to his stories.
The action scenes are what Patterson writes best, and there is action galore in Behind You. It blends nicely with his research and investigation, so when it comes, it provides plenty of punch. As in previous Warrior novels, this is primarily, in my opinion, a comic book style action thriller. There is not a lot of in-depth character development. If you don’t know Zeb’s back-story, you don’t learn anything new in this book about what makes him tick. It’s all about “the beast,” the emotion that rages when he is confronted with a wrongdoing or an injustice. As a reader, one of the things I enjoy most is gaining understanding about the characters and watching them grow. This is not that kind of book.
What Behind You does have is a lot of truly nasty bad guys. There are hired gangsters. There are go-betweens. There is an assassin. And then there is “The Man.” Each and every one is evil. Zeb takes them all on. I am amazed at all the new gadgets, weapons, and intel that Zeb, Broker, and the gang manage to pull out of their bag of tricks to defeat the evildoers. Holy smokes, Batman! Not that the good guys go unscathed, but what Zeb does with his technical support and his smaller band of men is outstanding, albeit confusing at times. The ending caught me by surprise – thinking about today’s world, this would almost be a worse case scenario! It’s a good thing this is fiction and that there are superheroes like Zeb and the Warriors in this one!
As with most of the previous Warrior novels, I was one of Ty’s beta readers, and I am thankful that he allowed me to be along for the ride.
This rates right up there as one of the best of this series. Ty has once again given us Zeb Carter and his team of extreme problem solvers. If you aren't reading this series you are missing out on some of the best fiction out there right now. Buy the books and read the series, you won't be sorry.
I love this series. Zeb is my new hero. It used to be Jack Reacher until Tom Cruise ruined it. Zeb and his team are so easy to like. This book is about Zeb finding a killer on his own and like one of the other reviewers I missed the interaction with the team. I have one bug up my butt though. Why do so many people have green eyes, Mr. Patterson? Only two percent of earth's population has green eyes however just about everyone Zeb meets has green eyes. Hmmm! On to #7.
Zeb Carter, good guy extraordinaire, gets on a case of a murdered journalist with international connections. Whoever was trying to shut her up started trying to shut Zeb up too. Zeb hunts down the clues to find the top man that is causing all of this plus the reason it started in the first place.
Another masterpiece in the Warriors series. Murder, assassinations and a dastardly plot to rule the world. Action and intrigue aplenty. Fantastic read.
Zeb rejuvenating himself in the wilderness of Wyoming, till he comes across a buried body. Which leds into a fast action plot, of guns going off and men wanting Zeb dead. He giving information as he finds this gang .There always seemed to be more coming for him. Why kill this ace reporter, what was she going to expose with her next report. The Saudi prince wants him to come, and only him. His brother at fifty died of a heart attack. No one has in their history, and wanted Zeb to check the body. A gripping tale, and one sees the inner strength of Zeb, and his team of Warriors.
Special Forces operative Zeb Carter is back. This time it's personal!
They warned Elena Petrova, a journalist, to drop her story. She didn't. They raped her. She didn't give up. They killed her and buried her body where no man could find it. Unfortunately for them, one man did. Zeb Carter discovers the woman's body in a remote part of the country, while on vacation. The body cannot be identified. No one comes forward to claim it. No missing women match it. He is prepared to leave the investigation to the authorities when he is asked to leave town.

Now for this book! The first thing that I like about this series is family feeling that I get when I read and the relationships that have been built among the team. The way that they care for each other and the loving way that they work together even with the business that they are in and including Clare! I have read every book in the series and I look forward to the toys that the author comes up with, they are fascinating an even though some of them are way out there to some of us, they totally fit with the story line...
What did I like? This one is really emotional for Zeb as after he found Elena no one claimed her, she wasn’t reported as missing and being the man that Zeb is or by the fact that he was asked to leave town he decided to be there for her. To find the person that she was and be the one that claimed and stood up for her. You say being the man that he is??? Remember one of the codes that Zeb and for that matter the whole team lives by is that women and children are never hurt and always, even after death, are protected. This code is one that we all should live by and it is one that is really needed in this world that we all live in. It helps to make this series what it is!
What will you like? Another absolutely rock star quality adventures, reading till you can’t keep your eyes open because you just can’t put these books down. More awesome toys, Zeb giving us that slow paced thinking that we have come to love and the team pitching in to help save the day. This story line takes place closer to home and really makes you wonder if these things could really happen and praying that there is a team out there like Zeb and the gang that is truly watching over us. Yeah, this is one of those action adventure crime stories that goes over the top of just maybe? But does it? Makes you wonder, huh?

Once again Mr. Patterson has imagined and created an exciting adventure for his protagonist Zed Carter and his crew. This latest is action packed, intense and has a very captivating scenario, a hell of a storyline that smoothly pulled me in and kept be hooked from page one. I must note that this series is getting better as it progresses. Nicely done …..
This series is well- written and provides a fresh plot with each installment of course along the way we are into the best action and graphic scenes we can imagine. This time Zed discovers a woman’s body in a remote part of the country while on vacation. He decides to get involved when it was discovered she was a journalist, raped and killed. Zed will soon find out that the people behind the murder are ruthless and well-trained individuals that will stop at nothing. Of course along the way the warriors will thrill us with their out of this world gadgetry and weaponry.
There are a lot of characters to keep track so be ready to slow somewhat you reading pace in order not to confuse them and miss out. If you let your imagination go wild and suspend believability you will enjoy this book to the maximum otherwise be warned this is a testosterone filled thriller with superheroes and terrible villains. The characterization is by far from being static, by integrating new players and giving the usual crew a different spin, Mr. Patterson keeps his series interesting.
Although it is always preferable to read a series in sequence in “Behind You” there is enough backstory to feel at ease to pick up at this point.
Political thriller for sure. This is a story that just gets deeper and deeper. Zeb is on a solitary vacation. With his job, he needs it. He is in a solitary place where no humans will interrupt--well until his finds the recently buried body of a woman. She has been horribly tortured. Turning the body over to the police, he plans to get back to his sojourn with nature. But, he can't. His team tries to talk him into leaving it with the locals. His boss tries. He even tries to talk himself into it--unsuccessfully.
The investigation turns into a convoluted, mulch-faceted mystery that could change the world as we know it--at least that is what is overheard by the man behind the plot. Now he just has to find him, and why he had this woman raped, tortured and murdered. Not an easy task. Zep leads a team that few knows exist. All ex-military, an elite team who are the last resort for the president. The journey leads him to old friends, new friends, and elite acquaintances with power few hold.
The story is compelling. I truly enjoyed the author letting inside Zeb as he processes his attacks, uses his investigative skills and his thoughts about those around him. Never a dull moment. I listened to this story on audio and truly enjoyed. A hearty recommend from me.
"A pair of Blue Eyes" It all began when Zeb Carter found a body, that of a recently murdered woman buried in a location usually unvisited by people. Not initially intending to get involved, Carter finds himself drawn into the mystery of who she was and what had led to her torture and brutal death. What is discovered opens up a trail of cat and mouse violence and counter attack. But who, exactly, is the cat in this race to find The Man? As with all of Ty Patterson's Warrior series, the pace is very fast and furious, the intense action mixed with excellent character building, and is a great story with world wide implications. The detailed amount of technical information in no way intrudes into the ongoing narrative but does give the story a frightening feel of reality. Carter's crew also feature .Although background knowledge from previous books in the series adds to the enjoyment by renewing acquaintanceship with old friends, this is a stand alone story. Behind You, is well written, a pleasure to read, and this audio of the book is also well narrated by Steve Carlson, whose slightly gravelly voice suits the subject matter perfectly. Highly recommended to all who love action mysteries and thrillers I was fortunate to receive a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion, which I have given above. My thanks to the author
Another exciting adventure of Zeb Carter and crew! You do not want to stop until done when reading what happens when Zeb finds a woman's body, and being the person he is,takes up her case to find who she is,who killed her and why. The adventure is well written,I feel as if I am seeing all happening in front of my eyes. The team gets involved as it becomes harder to deal with all that happens as more information is obtained, leading to an exciting ending that deals with those who killed the woman. Anyone who loves thrillers with lots going on will love this book, series and author!!
Disappointing... that I have caught up on this series and will now have to wait until book 7 is released.
This series just keeps getting better and better.
From the very first page, book six is another breathtaking ride - packed full of excitement, suspense and thrills. The plot is fresh, topical and exciting, and continues the excellent character development.
Cannot. Wait. for the next one.
I was lucky enough to receive a free copy of the book from the author in return for an honest review.
atterson continues to impress me with his writing in a very tough genre, action thrillers. Stories are predictable only because the reader knows it is a series. But Patterson integrates the various minor characters in such a way as to keep each book in the series interesting, and the action with a different approach.
Also, other than for backstory, one can jump in at any point in the series and not have that 'lost' feeling.
A fun read for those of us who like the genre. And like most action thrillers, there are some leaps of faith, but not enough to compromise the story.
Exciting story of Zeb Carter and his cohorts, the Warriors, trying to find out who killed a successful reporter, Elena Petrova. Zeb stumbles onto her body, while out hiking, buried in the Wind River Range in Wyoming. This was a interesting, very descriptive story. Full of fierce action and despicable characters. It will have you reading all night!
Zeb Carter is back! Between Zeb and his team you are taken away on an action thrill ride right to the end. Once I started the book I didn't want to stop reading. If you haven't read the first 5 books in this series that's okay this book can be read as a stand alone. Good job Ty Patterson.
I enjoy the warrior series for it's action, tight writing and interesting characters. Behind You fits right in as another great read that you won't want to put down until you are done. I sure didn't. I buy the next book by Ty as quickly as it's available.
A masterfully written action thriller! Suspense galore! An assassin has targeted Zeb. He's a loose end, Zeb knows too much. Oil companies are being forced to sell to a very well hidden buyer. Ministers from pill producing countries are being murdered, but made to look like an accident or suicide. Treachery and deceit is coming from the Whitehouse. An excellent read!!
