There are a million damn reasons why I shouldn’t touch her.
Her brothers are my best friends. We grew up together, under the same roof.
I’m supposed to think of her like a little sister.
I won’t break my loyalty for a f*ck.
Razer Bennington forgot me when he joined the marines.
One kiss. Seven years. I can’t get the taste of him out of my mouth.
I’m meant to be the good girl. A virgin. A role model.
I’m supposed to live up to their expectations.
Screw that…
I’m going to get what I want.
I should be careful what I wish for.
*** Claire Hadley was about to check the perfect fiancé off her checklist. Until she found him underneath a hooker. Running home to her brother, she doesn’t expect to be rescued by Razer Bennington. Seven years ago he left her behind. But she hasn’t forgotten their last night together. Or the kiss they shared. Tired of living up to the expectations of others, she throws caution to the wind. This time she’ll get what she wants. Even if getting what she wants could destroy him.

There is nothing really too deep about this book. But I rather enjoyed it.
The typical hero who thinks he is not "worthy" for the heroine. A virgin heroine! Who has not read this story a thousand times before?
But there was something about this that I just enjoyed.
I actually liked the heroine, even if she was a bit naively innocent, she was determined to get the hero (although I did think if I was reading this the other way around and the hero was doing that much chasing I would have been a bit ....
I liked the hero, even with his whole "woe is me, I cannot betray these people who are like my family by boinking their virgin sister"
I liked her brothers, and I liked her friend.
I mean, I did not quite get just why she was famous, and nothing really went into too much detail about just how she started her charity, when, or when she met her ex.
But, I straight away grabbed book 2 as soon as I had finished this one, so that says a lot.
3.25 stars. well i ended up liking this more than I thought. sure it wasn't perfect and I didn't care so much about some things but I kind of understood why the H tried to stay away. he was push pull for a while and a jerk at times but h was funny and held her own and at times said things that werent nice butfor the most part they were ok .It was a sweet hot read! I need an epilogue! but oh him building a house for her and keeping all her letters she wrote him and him writing her but never sending them but keeping them with him always was sooo sweet! Also her brothers are the best. im not sure I'll read about Tom because he was with lots of woman(which I guess is unusual for him) but Mace I might:)
safety: no OW drama. very light OM drama. some references about H's Past but nothing detailed. nothing mention about him orally with others but darn does he love to do it to h:) yum! h is a virgin. not really because she was waiting for H more so because of her ex fiancee wanting to wait . he was a Christian and they have am image of purity to show. her ex cheats on her! which she couldcare less about. it was funny how she reacted when she found him. at first she was hurt with H how he left lAND didnt respond to her but she eventually moved on. only when she sees him again those feelings come back.H and h had shared a kiss when she was 16 he was 22. that freak him out because he has been a a part of this family for a long time and always thought of as a big brother. after that he just leaves back to marines. she writes him he never responds back.oh when that kiss happened at the bday party he had an on and off gf. it only shows us telling her(gf) come on lets leave this little kids party. h wasn't a manhoe. he tells her he had a few women but I didnt get manhoe vibe. he had gf's but nothing serious and only for a few weeks. he says he tried to have relationships but no one could ever compare to Claire. he always loved her but felt that he couldn't be with her because his promise to her family and she was too young. he does try and push her away but damn that sexual tension was hot!!oh and he always used condoms!yay!
4.75 Stars Claire Hadley, 22, has had a crush on her older brothers’ best friend since she was sixteen when she took a chance on him and it left her heartbroken and pissed off. Razer Bennington, 29, is a former marine trying his hardest to resist the girl who gets him hard and steals his heart. His allegiance to her brothers and family is proving to be a real test the more determined Claire gets at finally having the man of her literal dreams.
“He’s going to call me a stalker in a minute, a psycho. Apparently I am. I mean, it’s been seven years and I’m wearing his T-shirt and having blasted sex dreams about him. That’s got to be some kind of psychiatrist’s wet dream. The virgin who has sex dreams featuring her much older brother’s best friend.”
Both characters were very likable. Claire is innocently cute, determined, and spunky. Razer is one dirty talking hottie who’s being pulled in two directions by his love and attraction to the girl and his respect and loyalty to the people that were there for him growing up.
“‘It’s all my fault you’re wrung out. I’m not going anywhere ‘til you cum.’”
Told via Claire and Razer’s alternating first person POV, the story is upbeat, fun, and incredibly sexy (seriously hot) as the two negotiate their supposedly limited time back in their hometown.
“He’s all hot hardness in my palm. I love the contradiction of it. How something hard can be so ridiculously soft. I love that I can feel how I affect him.”
It was refreshing that the romance focused on the light-hearted inner drama between Claire and Razer and her family with a few good twists and reveals as the story neared its close, and it wraps on a very sweet note. Prick Tease is a stand-alone although the later parts certainly hint at future books for her family. Man, do I hope there are future books because my head is still spinning trying to guess at the tidbits dropped in this one about Claire’s brothers, and I certainly have my theories. ;-)

Claire have been in love with Razer since she was sixteen. Only to be crushed when he left for the Marines and not heard a word from him. Seven years down the road, she's engaged and the fiancé cheating on her with a hooker. Driving back to her hometown, what better way to catching her fiancé with another girl? A blown tire? Guess the stranger who stop and help? Razer you guessed???
“He’ll manage,” I tuck myself into his chest and pull his head down so we’re staring into each other’s eyes, our noses pressed together.
“Good,” he says, “Because I’m going to continue loving you all my life.”
“Always,” I say. “Because I fought too hard for anything less.”
His lip twitches as his arms go around me like steel bands, our bond forged over decades as family, friends, strangers, and then lovers.
“Hell yeah,” he whispers against my mouth, and then he’s kissing me like it’s the first time, and a million butterflies take flight.”
This story was just ok for me. Way too much pushing away from the hero. He denied his feelings for the majority of the story. Then when he finally caved and admitted how he felt, they kept their relationship a secret from her brothers until nearly the end of the story.
Razer grew up in an abusive home. He found a family with the Hadley's. He came to love them like brothers and Claire, a little sister. Those feelings changed as Claire got older. Razer was 6 years older than her and he felt like he was betraying the Hadley's by feeling that way about Claire so he pushed her away, not answering her letters, cutting her from his life. He was so in love with her, but he could NEVER act on it.
Claire grew up with 3 over protective brothers. Add in Raze who always looked out for her and she was one tough cookie. So, when her fiancé cheats on her with a hooker, she knows she needs to go home to the comfort of her brothers. The last person she expected to see was the man who crushed her heart 6 years prior. She knew she should stay away because he was going to crush her heart again but she just couldn't. She was tired of always being looked at like the innocent sweet girl, the younger sister that would never be old enough to make her own decisions. So she forced the issue with Raze, letting him know that she was 100% sure of who she wanted to be with. Now if she could just get him on board.
--sexy alpha hero ( didn't come across as a complete womanizer, but he had been with others prior the relationship with heroine) --younger heroine (she had a fiancé who she had not slept with because he was the head of a Christian group and they were to be examples and wait until marriage. He stomped that out when slept with the OW) --no cheating --no ow drama --om drama --way too much pushing away by the hero. It took away from the story in my opinion --steamy scenes --ok secondary characters-the brothers in the story, Mace and Tom, are the heroes of the next couple books. Mace came along towards the end of the story and he was actually kind of a jerk. He caused problems for Raze and Claire. Tom was a womanizer and in this story, he got a pregnancy test in the mail and he doesn't know who its from. That is the storyline for book 2. After the way he went through women in this book, its going to be hard to think of him as a hero in another story. --no epilogue but the story is forwarded ahead briefly with a HFN ending (that was disappointing)
This is my first book by this author and I LOVED IT!
Claire Hadley has had a crush on her brother's best friend, Razor Bennington, since she was younger. Seven years before, she kissed him, and to this day she can't get it out of her mind, but he forgets her when he joins the marines. When she catches her "perfect" finance having sex with someone else, she runs home to brother for a few days to get her head on straight. On the way there, her car runs out of gas, and her crush rescues her. She realizes that those feelings haven't gone away so she starts a campaign to get him to realize she's not a little girl anymore. Will Razor notice that Claire is all grown up now, and actually take a chance on them?
I loved this story so much, but I have one big complaint, I so wish it had been longer as I could have read about Claire and Razor for days. Character development is great, with a well written, HOT storyline that flows smoothly. Misti Murphy did a great job with well placed humor that had me laughing hard. The chemistry had sparks flying off of my kindle, which led to SCORCHIN HOT sexy scenes that I couldn't get enough of. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series, so I happily recommend Prick Tease to all!
Prick Tease (The Hadley’s) Misti Murphy 5 stars – YES!
So let me start by saying Misti was so kind as to send me an ARC of her newest release Lady Killer; the second book in this series that focuses on Tom Hadleys story. You know going into Lady Killer what has happened with him IF you read Prick Tease first. Its not necessary BUT for me it was a must. I happened to mention that I wished I had been privy to knowing Prick Tease was the first release and Misti sent it to me! KUDOS to Misti for caring about her readers! LOVE IT!
In this fantastic modern day story of true devotion we are introduced to the Hadley clan; those related by blood and those related and tied to the family by other strings. Claire Hadley is returning home after finding her not so interesting finance in a very compromising situation. Being a twenty two year old virgin isn’t easy. Becoming the face of the Christian Family Network with that dirt bag creep of a no hypocritical fiancé wasn’t happening. Claire knew House to Haven, her philanthropy would suffer but she didn’t care. She was out and heading back home to Reverence. Screw him and his box he kept her in .. funny she isn’t that upset about it either.
Razer Bennington was taken in by the Hadley’s when he was six years old. Tom, Mace and Rush are his brothers and he should consider Claire his sister but keeping his distance has been the worst thing he has had to do. Seven years its been since he has spoken seen her. He left right after 16th bday to head to the military; right after he shattered her heart into a million pieces, right after she kissed him and he walked away. There has never been anyone else for Razer but Claire. She is forbidden though. There are more reasons he shouldn’t touch her than why he should .. the biggest being that he cannot betray the only family he has ever known. Touching her would be wrong … He wrong break his loyalty to the people who took him in and raised him like he was their own.
This is the BEST love story … you have no idea how incredible this group of characters are. I am consumed with each of them. Now I read these two books backwards so I know where everyone is right now but of course there is more coming. I am so intrigued with Mace. Lawd! Misti has written a bond between a family that cannot be broken. Rush Hadley continues to be a mystery as well which I love and also have a feeling will rock the top off the house due to a situation that I wont discuss.
This series is definitely a keeper friends. Not only do you have strong alpha men who protect the ones they love with everything they are but you also have tough female characters who are all woman but don’t take life lying down. I LOVE IT!
Thank you Misti for taking the time to even read my review of Lady Killer and for then sending over Prick Tease. Im heading back to change the stars on Lady Killer. Now I know all I need to and its oh so good!
Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
I have become addicted to Misti Murphy's writing... there I said it and I am not ashamed. It is impossible not to be googly eyed or hot and bothered by the end of one of her scorching hot and heartfelt reads. Having already read Cocky F@#ker and Maximum Rush, I have become a little stalkerish over the Hadley's and had to go back to the beginning of the Tangled Desires series and have another taste. Claire and Razer are forbidden and decadently sweet! They are like that dessert that you know you shouldn't have but you are going to enjoy every mouth watering, moan inducing, euphoric bite. Prick Tease strikes the heart, is full of heat, and has the reader head over heels for the headstrong and passionate Hadley family that love with all their heart and fight with all their might for one another.
Claire Hadley has spent her teen and adult years madly in love with her brother Mace's best friend Razer who has been an honorary member of the Hadley family for years. When he left her broken heart ed and took off for the Marines, she has moved on about her life and became the spokesperson for House to Haven and recently became engaged. Everything is going according to plan until she catches her fiance with someone else and Razer is back in town. Claire is passionate, spunky, and is ready to stand up to anyone thanks to her 3 older brothers and Razer himself. She stole my heart with her innocent yet seductive ways. She is an enigma in every sense of the word.
Razer Bennington is returning to Reverance to deal with some land left to him by his late grandfather. He vows to stay away from the younger woman and longtime family friend that he gave his heart to. But what if she has other plans? Out of the three men in the Hadley family that I have come to love, he is by far my fav. He captured my heart and squeezed with all his might. His love for Claire is unrivaled, the way he calls her “Little Bit” like her brothers made my heart truly melt, not to mention the plethora of dirty words that would escape that sexy mouth of his any time that Claire was near him...hmmm.
Misti Murphy delivers a scorching start to her Tangled Desires and gives us a new fictional family to obsess, laugh, and cry over. I highly recommend Prick Tease for a read that will leave you addicted to Misti's writing and begging for more of this crazy family. Now I must read Tom and Gemma in Lady Killer and get to know this Hadley couple a little more intimately... if you know what I mean.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I loved Claire's bubbly personality while trying to find herself and in the process being in love with Razer. The tension between them was superb and written very well. The intimate scenes made me swoon and were very HOT. Great job once again Misti.
This book also goes by Tease me (Tangled Desires Book 1) that is the copy I currently have and read. I have to say I really enjoyed this romance between the leading lady and her brother's best friend. I have read a lot of best friend romances. I have to say this is one of the better ones.
Blurb about the book: Claire Hadley came home and found her fiancé who worked with Christian and family network and always preached purity and marriage with a hooker. She takes off and runs home to Reverence to her brother Tom who is a professional fighter and kind of a man hoe (different girls almost every night). She runs into Razer her brother Mace's best friend and who she has had a crush on since she was 16 years old and he was older than that and a Marine at the time. He gives her a lift to her brothers house. Tom and Razer want to knock some sense into her ex Henley isn't worth it. A lot of drama folds into this with dealing with her ex and her brothers finding out bout her and Razer and their relationship.
It definitely is a really good book. The characters you can really relate too and the story line is good and not boring or dragging. It is a short read at under 200 pages but a must read. I can't wait to read more about Claire's brother's Tom, Rush and Mace, hopefully a little update on Claire too in their books.
Rating this book after already reading the second book is so hard. Usually, the 1st books of the series have the biggest impact on the reader, but in this case, I am way too overwhelmed by the 2nd.
This 1st was an easy read, but near at the end I had no clue what happened to the heroine's brain cells. It didn't make any sense. Comparing the drama between the 1st and 2nd books, the 1st seemed forced and a bit weak. Beyond that, these characters, their togetherness as a family, coming together to temporarily live under the same roof captured me and I need to know where they'll end up...
3,5 Stars because the next book is way better and I need the 5 stars for the little brother's book.
Razer can't give into his desires for his best friend's little sister. Taken in by her family and making him feel like one of their own, Razer, became Claire's fourth "brother" and promised to always watch out for Claire. As Claire got older she blossomed into someone Razer couldn't just see as a little sister anymore. To keep his promise with the only family he had, he distant himself and went away and joined the Marines to protect both of them. Now, Razer is back in Reverence and those feelings that he tried to run from comes back full force when he happens to cross paths with Claire. Claire has had a crush on her big brother Mace's best friend, Razer, for as long as she could remember. When she catches her fiance in the act of infidelity, she decides she needs to get away and find comfort from her brother, Tom. Claire's brothers have always been overprotective of her since she's the only girl in the family and the baby of the bunch. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed reading this book. I love the cover and the blurb was convincing enough where I knew it was worth a shot. It also helped that it was an Amazon freebie. Since I got a taste of the Hadley family I want more. Especially the Hadley men, Tom, Mace, and Rush. I will always give a Brother's Best Friend romance a try. I'm a big sucker for those kinds of books and I love the sexual tension that comes from wanting something you can't have. This freebie has convinced me to go purchase the other books in this series.
When I saw this book the cover enticed me but the name repulsed me. Reading the blurb convinced me to give it a chance but I find myself regretting that decision. There were a number of interactions that had me chuckling but otherwise I don't have many positive things to say about this one. There were a fair number of errors. Though I like second chance/friends first tropes, books where the hero is friends with heroines brother always give me pause and this is the perfect example why. He is very often patronizing to her and per usual in this trope makes way too big a deal about the whole loyalty thing. If you like her and she likes you isn't it worse to treat her like crap to try and turn her off you or hide her like she's a dirty little secret? Wouldn't you think her brothers would rather see her happy with someone they know and trust than miserable? Even above and beyond that the couple said some horrible hurtful things to each other and I never really moved past that, perhaps in part because there's not a lot of romantic development. They always liked each other but never really made it clear to the other, then they're having sex, then break up, then engaged. The author would try and sum up scenes with a sentence or two rather than trimming some of the unnecessary stuff giving us the actual scene. The sex scenes were ok but none of the dialogue fit the characters and even some of the narrative was awkward. Overall this book was kind've cardboard. It starts with a trope but doesn't flesh anything out enough to make it a story you get lost in. And I can't even say it's structurally sound due to the errors.
Tldr: I was a toss up between reading this and another book. I chose this one and without even reading the other I'm convinced I made the wrong choice
Story revolves around Claire and Razer.....a couple who were pretty much raised as brother and sister- but no real relation.
At the age of 16 Claire begins to see Razer differently....no longer as a big brother but she's too young for him to even think that way.....
Fast forward a few years- Claire has been betrayed by her fiancée and runs back home Razer has had a family bereavement and comes home too......
Now Claire is older and wiser- she knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go after him anymore
A nice story- based on this cute couple, internal torment revolving around loyalty to the family that raised him, and a few back stories thrown in for good measure that no doubt will continue on in books that follow.
I'm looking forward to catching up further with this group of brothers and their little sister
*ARC REVIEW FROM ABIBLIOPHOBIA ANONYMOUS BOOK REVIEWS BLOG*
This book starts off with a bang, one that will make you laugh because of the leading females, Claire Hadley's reaction and inner monologue. Running away from the situation is her only option, she just needs to take it in. In doing so, she will run into the last person she ever expected, Razer Bennington. It's been year's since she's laid eye's on him.
Here's the problem for Claire, Razer was just like her brother. She had feels for him, and now they're back. What will be best for them and their family. Do they try to fight the attraction, or do they finally give in?
This is the first book I've read from this author, and I can say it won't be my last. She knows how to give her reader's a sexy story, and that I enjoy. Looking forward to reading more from her.
Due to the title, I was really prepared for this to be another one of those books I facedesk over. I won't lie about that. I was extremely surprised though by how much I loved this book. It had far more to it than I thought it would. I won't go into a full review here but I will say I'm reading the rest of the series.
I like the book story Overall friends to lovers and second chance at love BUT: I absolutely dislike books that is mostly all in the thoughts of the characters instead of dialogue. This book is like very little dialogue and mostly everything is in the head of the characters. It also gave me whiplash the “yes I want her but not, we should not do this, but then again do you really want me?”. Ugh there is a lot of that even after the sex and kisses and every intimate time (which there was a lot of it, which I don’t complain about it). This made it very repetitive and boring to read at times that I had to take a break and read something else. It took me 8 days to read it and finishing.
pOV: dual pov from the female and main characters. Secondary characters are likable and I would like to read their stories in the next books. OM/OW: heroine had a fiancé at the beginning of the book and makes a brief appearance at the end. No cheating while characters were together. Angst: Claire and Rezer were childhood friends almost older brother/younger sister relationship (6years difference) until she turned 16 and her affection changed, same for him but he feels it would be a betrayal to her family (parents and 3 brothers) to be involved with her. They end up giving into each other desires but still afraid to affect the friendship relation between everyone. Ending: HEA not epilogue.
Would I recommend the book? Yes, there is a lot of smutty scenes, and plot is not bad. Would I read it again: NO! once is enough specially for the lack of dialogue.
Claire has grown up with Raze in her life, as her extra brother. She has loved him since she was a teenager. Now that they are both back in Reverance, will they act on this attraction. Meet the Hadley family, Claire, her three brothers, her best friend Chelsea, and the man she has had a crush on for a long time. Not a big fan of constantly telling that she didn't know what she wanted, when he didn't either. Overall was a good story, and gave us a glimpse in what this series would be about.
