The Blood Contract

Rate this book
Signed over two hundred years ago, the Blood Contract ensured the sanctity of the Blood lands. In return, the Blood family dedicated their lives, and their deaths to the protection of the town of Thorne.

For many years, the town of Thorne was nothing more than a picturesque New England village. But in modern day, the town is enjoying a boom in real estate development. To satisfy the developers with enough land, the town has decided to break the Blood Contract.

And the Bloods are not pleased.
Not at all.

Now, as Autumn moves ever on towards winter, the Aldermen and the people of Thorne are going to learn that there is a price for ignorance.

And it’s higher than they could have ever imagined.

Ron Ripley

Ron Ripley is a husband and father surviving in New England, a place which seems to be getting colder every day. He grew up across from a disturbingly large cemetery where he managed to scare himself every night before going to bed. Mostly because of the red lights that people put in front of the headstones. Those things are just plain creepy to a kid.

Ron enjoys writing horror, military history and driving through the small towns of New England with his family, collecting books and giving impromptu lectures on military history to his family, who enjoy ignoring him during those dreadful times.

Blood Contract was my first Ron Ripley novel. I don't know what I expected. But, that wasn't it. I loved everything about this book. I listened to the audiobook it one sitting. I would love to read a continuation of this storyline.

When people start dying in the small town of Thorne, things become interesting. At first, no one thinks a whole lot about the death of a man—well except for how they find him. But when more are killed Jim Petrov, a police officer, takes a trip to the local historical society to find those who are dying are connected. 200 years before, their ancestors signed a contract with the Blood family. The contract between the Blood family and the town was one that could never be broken-- it was binding and deadly if violated. The residence of Thorn are finding out, the Bloods are true to their word and betraying them wasn’t the best thing for those born in the town of Thorne could have done. Especially now that they’ve pissed off, not only the Blood family but also a dark evil. Get ready to have your mind blown with this first book in The Blood Contract trilogy.
Wow, this is one of those stories that grips onto you and won't let you go. It’s a thriller that compels you to keep reading. Ron Ripley’s writing is a work of art in an of itself. If you’re a fan of creepy old myths, thrillers, and horror I would recommend for you to read this first book and decide for yourself—trust me you won't regret it.

When a contract is broken, dark beings are going to be released upon the town. There is only a short window of time before the entire area is demolished, and it will take seven brave souls to form a new contract, and save the town.

If you are looking for terror on a different level, this is going to knock your socks off. Love these books!

Loved it

Great story. Loved the premise of the book and the flow was great. I usually hate short stories because people usually don't know how to write them. This story had the right place and content that left you wanting to devour it without it feeling too short or not very in depth. The author took time to build the environment and back story without sacrificing the content of the whole story. Ill be reading much more of his work in the future. Highly recommended.
