They Don't Check Out

Rate this book
SOME SPECIES OF cockroaches eat human eyelashes. In particular, they prefer to target babies, because their eyelashes contain important minerals and their tear ducts provide an ample supply of moisture. As a professional pest exterminator, Clint Stern knows this and a million other facts about the insect world. After taking a job in a rundown apartment building, Clint encounters tenants more depraved and destructive than the pests he’s been hired to eliminate. He and the tenement share a forgotten past, and he realizes there is a darker reason he’s been called to this place. If Clint can’t decipher the reason he’s been lured here, chances are he’ll never check out.

Hmmm this one was full of psychological twists and turns. I still don’t fully understand what I’ve read….

It was almost like a fever dream, and I was left questioning everything. I guess I am really not a fan of unreliable narrators/realities.

A creepy book about an East Texas exterminator, written by my East Texas exterminator! He told me not to be too freaked out when this happened... It didn't work. I will be keeping a close eye on you now, Bug Man!

Overall, good novel. I would read more from him. I would not recommend this novel if you are squimish, however.

I found this book from the BloodBoundBooks catalog.
I'm not sure if I've read anything else by this author, but I'll be sure to seek out more now.
Surprisingly, I found the bug info quite interesting.
