The Weekend Girlfriend
Jessica has worked hard to be the paralegal that hotshot, sexy attorney Kyle needs. Unfortunately he doesn’t see her as just his paralegal but also his own personal assistant. When he blames her for a mix-up in his personal life, Jessica sees no other option but to quit, thinking that her time with him is over. Much to her surprise, Kyle makes a proposition to her that she never thought she would hear coming from his lips. He needs a temporary girlfriend for his sister’s wedding and he wants her to be that person. Jessica accepts the challenge and finds herself thrown into his world, learning things about him she never knew. The more time she spends with him outside of work, the more she is drawn to Kyle. As the wedding draws near, she finds herself fighting off some strong feelings for the man. When the wedding weekend is over, will Jessica be able to walk away from Kyle with her heart intact?

This book turned out to be just ok for me.
Kyle didn't start off on a very good foot with me. He was a womanizer. He slept with different women often. He would have his paralegals arrange and/or cancel his dates and even lost assistants because he would sleep with them and they wanted more. He didn't do relationships and never had a woman for longer than a night or two.
Jessica has had it with Kyle. Even though she finds him attractive,.she can't stand how he treats women. After a mix up brings him to her door to reprimand her, it's the final straw and she quits her job. Now she just has to get through the one last thing he asks of her.....to be his pretend girlfriend for his sisters wedding.
-jerk hero, who you understand a little better after meeting his parents
-a sweet heroine who stands up to the H
-no cheating
-no om drama
-ow drama - an ex from his past is flaunted in her face by his mother. He doesn't have feelings for her.
-no real pushing away
-too short epilogue (only 6 months in the future)
This needed more story development. Too many questions weren't answered for me. It needs another book with additional storyline. Or, it should have had a better epilogue.

Not recommendable
I was expecting something better developed. The book is so short, that everything happens too fast, therefore the lack of correct developement of the characters and their story. I love cheesy novels, but this one was definetely not a good one.

The first book I have read, that was enjoyable when their wasn't a story arc - just a love story with no real problems. A nice fantasy.

Its hard to give this book a low rating when I really enjoy this type of plot. I've seen it plenty of times before and I don't mind seeing it again. But when its BELIEVABLE!! There were a number of things that had me rolling my eyes and shaking my head during my quick read of this book. Just to name a few....
1. I was completely turned off when the author described the heroine's features. For the duration of the book, I pictured this short, unattractive and slightly hefty female.
2. Jess's responses to Kyle were meek and unwitty. In fact, I think I can count on one hand actual complete sentences that she says to him. What is it about her that makes her so "awesome" and unlike any other girl he's ever been with.
3. Fell in love with you when you were throwing up in my bathroom? I get what the author was going for but there needed to be more reasons. How about "I realized I was in love with you the moment you threatened to walk out of my life forever and needed to come up with a way to get you to know me better."
4. The "I love you" & "I love you too's" at the end were weak and disappointing.
5. And OMG - pregnant? Really? they've been together 6 months - now they're going into this relationship with a baby? Think about that - I mean really think about it.
There were some rather enjoyable moments in this book; the scene with the mother were great, I really liked Nicole. Kyle's demanding demeanor was super sexy and the author handles those scenes nicely.
The imagery and descriptive narrative was very well done, (slightly repetitive I mean how many times can one call a room straight "out of a magazine"? But still, I enjoyed the read.

Great love story
Loved this novella. Great love story and classic falling for my boss romance. Characters that are likeable, and a couple who aren't! The only bad thing is I wanted it to be longer!

I liked it!
I thought this book had a great storyline and the writing kept me intrigued throughout the story. I think both main characters are great, well Jessica was! Kyle eventually was!! I really enjoyed their HEA too!

Great short story

Ok read
Book was good, but it skipped a lot of history. The ending was as expected, but wish the wanna be ex was in the ending of the upcoming marriage/family. Wanted to see the outcome of his parents rekindle.
