The Nightmare Hours

Rate this book
On a bitter winter’s night, the snow fell fast and heavy, blanketing the city of Omaha in a white blizzard frost. The roads laid barren, shutting down businesses as snow crews worked overtime to keep up. A chilly night shaped to stay indoors and enjoy the comforts of laziness and huddle underneath a warm coverlet. NATASHA KING, a self-help writer, embraced such comforts by curling up with a book and a late night glass of wine.
One afternoon, during a late luncheon, she caught the attention of IVAN WILLS, attorney and self-proclaimed gift to the world of women. When the encounter doesn’t go as he planned, Ivan vowed to bring them together again. Unbeknownst to Natasha, Ivan held a secret as the city’s most dangerous serial killer called the Loverman. Branded for his brutality, he was distinctly known for carving an image of a heart into the chest of his victims.
Tonight, a battle over life and death would be decided before the rise of the morning sun. Natasha lived alone and existed in a world of darkness. Inheritably blind and an outsider to the realm of sight, she never imagined evil would one day seek her out. Natasha would learn that in the darkness monsters are real and her worst nightmare revealed.

I've read all I can of this book. This author seriously needs to hire a proofreader. There are so many grammatical and spelling errors that even if I was interested in the subject matter I'm not sure I could force myself to slog through it. This will go on my DNF list unless I suffer a moment of desperation in the future.

Wow is all I can say! I thought the novel was very well written but too horrific for my tastes.
Natasha King, a blind self-help writer is having lunch in a restaurant where Ivan Wills, a lawyer is also dining with colleagues. Ivan notices Natasha and her beauty and walks over and introduces himself. Natasha is not interested and brushes him off. Ivan who is secretley a serial killer called the Loverman, a name he earned from the press vows to teach Natasha her place and bow down to men.
Ivan enters Natasha's apt. building disguised as a Pizza delivery person. He delivers the pizza to two women who are gay. He kills Ellie upon entry and binds Angela. He then rummages through their purses and finds an access key to the building. He then leaves only to return later. He abuses Angela and forces her to go next door to Natasha's apt., Angela asks for sugar and she is let into the apt. with Ivan right behind her. Ivan then rapes and murders Angela with his eye fixated on Natasha.
Natasha is then raped and abused. I am not going to go into detail about this novel because what happens to Natasha is to brutal and horriffic for me to repeat. I did however like that Natasha manages to escape and exacts a brutal revenge on Ivan.
As I stated before the book was well written and if one can read about abuse, rape and murder and not be affected it is a good read. I was given "The Nightmare Hours" free of charge through Goodreads Firstreads in exchange for my review.
