A romantic cowboy. A sunset kiss.

Everything is perfect until he's charged with murder.

Callie Fletcher just wanted to sit on the terrace of her favorite hot spot and watch the sunset over the Texas Hill Country. A table for one, a glass of pinot and the best view in Austin. When Dominic Jaxson, a gorgeous, wealthy cowboy, charms her into sharing the view, the sunset gets even more magical.

Months of sunsets later, their affection blooms into love, with dreams of a future together. Never does Callie imagine that this caring and tender man might hide a secret or that he might be a criminal. But then he walks through the doors of her courtroom, charged with a crime.

Murder.

As a court reporter, Callie knows her way around the legal system, and she's certain Dominic isn't guilty. But can she uncover the clues to prove his innocence, or have she and her handsome cowboy shared their last Texas sunset?

Cowboy in Her Courtroom (previously published as Incredulity) is the first in a fast-paced, clean romantic suspense series.

Wow! This was an awesome story. INCREDULITY had me on the edge of my seat until the very last page. At first, you think you are reading a sweet romantic story and BAM.....Callie's world is turned upside down.

Callie is a court reporter and one night while watching the sun go down at a restaurant, she meets Dom. He is super hot and sexy and my new book boyfriend! He sweeps her off of her feet and Callie is ready to take their relationship to the next level. Her husband had passed away from cancer and she has been slow to let anyone in. Of course once she does that, her world blows up in her face!

One day at work, she is taking notes as she always does when she hears a voice she knows. Dom is standing before her judge and he is being charged with murder!! OMG how can this be? She feels like such a fool and her heart is breaking. How could Dom do this to her?

Hang on my friends you can't believe what happens and it will be a wild ride!! Five stars all the way!!

THE TWO MAIN CHARACTERS SEEMED TOO PERFECT TO BE TRUE, THE STORYLINE WASN’T VERY SUSPENSEFUL. THIS WAS A CLEAN RO/SUSP. BUT IT HAD OVER-THE-TOP CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL AND COLESTEROL, THAT WAS EXTREMELY EXPLICIT. AND WHY NOT INVEST IN SOME CHEAP DISPOSABLE GLOVES TO KEEP IN YOUR PURSE. ;<

ok

A fairly simplistic story, or was it the simplistic way it was told, which was more like reading a childrens story in the way it was presented. Not the contents.
The other thing that really bothered me was the profanity, can people not exclaim without being profane , yet this is this authours fall back, nothing else was used.
I would not pay money for this book.

One of the most improbable and unrealistic books I've ever read. She's always quoting Daddy or Grandma, and basing her decisions on what nuggets of wisdom they had imparted, she's always after her next glass or two of wine, she has a perfect friendship with her girl lawyer friend, she has a perfect job and perfect boss. In the same vein, her cowboy is sickly perfect in every way. He's romantic to a fault, flings "Darlin'" around all the time, he's apparently gorgeous, but I still don't know what colour his hair or eyes are. They act childish by racing each other, saying last one is a... [insert childish tease of choice.]
Story ends at 81% (the rest is previews of other books), and though there's a HEA, it still ends on somewhat of a cliffhanger.
I generously gave it 1 star simply because it had only 2 mistakes, which is the only redeeming factor of this book.

A romance and a mystery. Great combination! And not with the average 20-somewhat as the main characters, but with 2 middle aged new lovers. I really liked it!
Thank you, Kathy Zebert, for giving me a chance to read this!

This was a quick read/listen. Callie is a widow, whose kids are grown and now her life is full with her job as a court reporter. On one fateful night, while she is enjoying the sunset and some wine at a local bar, she meets rancher, Dominic. The pair end up dating and life is great...Dominic is so romantic...swoon. That all comes to a screeching halt when Dominic turns up in Callie's court as a defendant in a murder trial. Then comes the mysterious notes...and Callie finds herself trying to solve the crime and prove Nic's innocence...will she be able to before it's too late? Is there an HEA for Callie and Dominic? Enjoyed the twists and turns of this short story that kept me guessing almost until the end. I look forward to reading more of this new-to-me author's work.

The characters are beautifully written and help make this story come alive on the page. Their slowly developing relationship feels real and un-rushed.

I loved all the court information, I'd never really thought about what a court recorder does, so I found this really interesting.

The mystery is well done, it's not obvious who's doing different things or why they're happening, it leads to a couple of twists that really make the book.

Great narration, character voices really well done and the delivery is well paced and conveys emotion and tension.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

Cowboy 🤠 in Her Courtroom was the title of the book when I read it. 3.75 stars
He's a mysterious cowboy - obviously a rich rancher the way he throws around money 💰, undercover agent for the feds, former other fed organization, a widower. She's a court reporter, widow, mother of two grown children. They meet by accident and share a sunset. Then they meet for a sunrise. He starts making costly romantic gestures while away on a business trip. His romantic gestures continue when he gets back from his trip. Then he shows up on her court's docket accused of murder! Guilty or innocent? Will their relationship survive? Recommended

Great read!

Callie's life had suffered the loss of her husband and father. Now her children were grown and she was in a comfortable daily routine. Enjoying a beautiful sunset she meets the cowboy Dominic. They develop a wonderful friendship, until he is arrested and jailed. He doesn't appear to be the person she believed him to be. But mysterious notes begin to appear from an unknown source which puts her job in jeopardy, yet she needs to reveal the information that could possibly prove Dominic's innocence. Who can she trust? What is the truth? Who is the real Dominic? Her career could be destroyed.

Callie
Dominic (Dom)

Callie is a Court Reporter working in Austin. Dominic (Dom) is a Cowboy who meets Callie on the deck of a new hot spot called Shenanigans. Dom asks to sit with her and they have some wine and watch the sunset. They begin a relationship and the Dom runs into some trouble and they have to work through the trouble. I really liked both Dom and Callie. Callie is a good, strong character. She’s very good at keeping a secret. Dominic is very romantic buying Callie gifts and making nice dinner plans but he’s a mystery too. He is also a strong character. This is the first book in the series but it can be read as a stand alone book. I would read others in the series.

Fun & suspenseful mystery - can the hot cowboy Dominic be trusted? He's Mr. Perfect but then is accused of murder - what will Callie do? Can she prove her man's innocence?

I loved the story, thought it was fun & entertaining, and full of suspense and intrigue. Liked the characters, and was rooting for their love to conquer all.

I thought the narration was awesome, Jennifer Gilmour always does a fantastic job.

Imagine being a court reporter entering the pleas on the upcoming docket when you hear the name of the incredible man you have been dating. That is where Callie finds herself. I loved this book because there were lots of twists, plenty of romance and the characters are more mature. Also I felt at home with this book, I lived in Austin for 45 years so I know where these places are “located”. This is my first book by Kathy Zebert but I look forward to the rest of the series. I read under the title Cowboy in Her Courtroom

I'm a court reporter just like Kathy. So I could relate to all her descriptions of her work environment and work stress. So that part I really enjoyed. It was a quick read, and that's always nice. It was a "love" story, and that's nice too. So, if you like a love story that's a fast read...and if you're a court reporters, you'll enjoy the book.

Incredulity

Wow what a love story and suspenseful mystery rolled into one great story. Both the main characters, Dominic and Callie, have things in their past that have shaped them into who they are today. But when Dom is charged with murder, Callie must follow a series of clues with help from friends to try to get him acquitted. Really enjoyed this book!

Romantic Heartfelt Suspenseful Book

Callie and Dom are both wonderful people, but as a couple they are magnificent. They are both great at their professions, but as lovers, friends and humanitarians they shine. This book was a combination of a romance novel, murder mystery and spy film.

A cowboy who is full of surprises.

A court recorder, who is a widow, meets a cowboy when they share a balcony table at a restaurant to watch a beautiful sunset. This leads to so much more. There's mystery and suspense enough to keep you reading mixed with a sweet romance. What more could you want?

More Romance than Suspense

Cowboy in Her Courtroom is definitely a romance of two people just barely on the lower side of fifty. They are both widowed and upon meeting in a new bar; well it''s just love at first sight. If you like romance with just a pinch of mystery this is your book.

Awesome Series Beginning

This was a great read. I was drawn in from the first page. This book was very well written without all the sex and foul language found in so many of the books these days. I can barely wait to start the next book in the series. I recommend this author highly.

Caught Between Legal & Love

Follow the clues. Court stenographer meets her dream. Her moral responsibilities vs her heart's obligations come into conflict. Thus the tug of war begins...

Scenes are well defined, great construction of characters and characters tell their story. A few of the reasons you keep flipping those psges.

The story itself is reasonable but I don’t like the characterisation. Everything in Callie’s life is perfect and Dom is just way too perfect. It all becomes sickly sweet. I don’t know what it says about me, but I wouldn’t trust a guy who was that perfect. I would be wondering what was behind his expensive gift giving.

This book was pretty good, I've grown up around a court reporter so its interesting and different to see how the life of one can be mixed into a love story. The drama in this book was quite capturing but it was also a very short read so it didn't take a whole lot of time to read.

Great read! Really enjoyed this book with an unexpected twist at the end. The only complaint I have is the "intimacy" in a story with a Christian protagonist who did not know her "Cowboy" very long.

Heart warming

Kind of a down to earth story with a happy ending after so much stress for the main character. I'm a widow so it was relatable for me, now just to find a cowboy....lol

Texas twang built in

A light hearted quick read(because you didn't want to put it down), with nice people, and an uncomplicated love story . The storyline was unique, nothing I have ever read before in 60+ years of reading this genre.

A sweet story with more mature main characters. I found that a refreshing change from billionaires etc. It contained a few surprises along the way for the heroine but she handled them well. Worth a read.
