James Vallence, a New Zealand-born neophyte artist, rents an old villa on the French Riviera not knowing that his life will drastically change when Kimberley Spenser, a beautiful young American, shows up at his door.Masked intruders break into the villa, James is shot and wounded and Kim is abducted. Mystery surrounds her diappearance and, with few leads, James searches for her.Unsuccessful in finding Kim's whereabouts, though not losing all hope, James tries to rebuild his life in Paris. He cannot however escape a vendetta begun by her kidnappers. Others become embroiled and he has to fight for his life.

Family (grown up children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren) are an important part of his life. He is a fulltime voluntary caregiver for a family member.
He currently lives in the capital city of New Zealand with his wife & ex SPCA cat, Dudley.
When he's writing a novel (he has published twelve in twelve years) he works every day of the week, in the mornings, for 3-5 hours. A retired pensioner,it's his only paid employment.
He loves gaining new readers.
