My name is Dana Levy Elgrod. I am married to Sir James Elgrod...Well, he's not really a sir, but for me, he is. I am the proud mother of Shachar, a smart, gifted little girl of 7 going on seventeen and Jonathan, my fiery, funny little boy of 5, who has the amazing ability to stretch the truth to suit himself.
I am a lecturer in communications at a private university and CEO of a public relations company. I'm addicted to books; at the age of six I entered a library and haven't left since.
The first romance I ever read, and that left the biggest mark, was 'Gone With The Wind'. Whenever I'm having a bad day, I just think of Scarlett O'Hara, and say to myself" After all... tomorrow is another day."
I was raised in a warm and loving family. My parents taught me the power of imagination, to aim as high as I can, and to live life without fear because good things happen to good people. When I met my husband, I realized how amazing it is to live with someone who shows you what love and passion with no boundaries are all about.
I hope and pray that I have succeeded in conveying this message to my readers.
Why did I decide to write The Passion to Survive?
After the Tsunami in Thailand, a plot started forming in my mind. It stayed with me for a few years, but I never thought about developing it any further. Until one evening, my husband told me something that I already knew. He said that if I don't start writing this book, I would always regret it. The next morning, I sat in front of my computer and wrote the first sentence. I erased it and wrote it again, then I changed it and rewrote it, and so it continued for the next twelve hours. The Passion to Survive trilogy was written in one breath. Once I started, I was barely able to stop, and the result is in front of you. I live and breathe my books. Into each one, I have instilled my values, my beliefs, and my love. In each of the characters, there is a little of the people in my life, and there is no doubt in my mind that I am truly blessed!
What a crazy Emotional roller coaster! I already fell in love with this unique story in the first book The Passion to Survive, I could not believe the second book could be as good or at the same level but there is no doubt that not only it was on the same level,it's even better!! This book flooded me with all the emotions, joy, sadness, love, heartbreak and a lot of passion. I do not know which team I belong to, that of blue eyes or clear blue eyes, then I'll just be both teams. Sensual and thrilling book that you can't stop reading once you start. Now I can only pluck my hairs waiting for the 3rd Passion. Highly recommended. ten stars.
The main male love interest is a complete psychopath. Eva is terrified of him, he THREATENS TO KILL HER on several occasions. Is this not throwing up red flags for anyone else? This series had so much potential but fell flat. Very unrealistic unbelievable characters . The more I read the more I disliked Eva, she spends half the book fainting and vomiting. She is a emotional weak mess. Everything is very repetitive. The sex scenes are ridiculous and immature, I stopped reading at one point to check the bio of the author to make sure it was in fact written by an adult.
Seriously? Yet again Eva gets herself into trouble when she doesn’t listen. She constantly uses her body to take advantage of every man she meets and forgets that she gets people killed or hurt. She, for some unknown reason to me, is madly in love with Ethan who is abusive. He threatens her multiple times, including threatening to kill her or hurt her. Everyone encourages this unhealthy ness by saying she “belongs” to Ethan. And in the mean time, freaking Julie? I though Eva was helpless but good Lord! She makes all the women helpless and needing a man to take care of them and all the men are possessive and controlling. Ian is decent but even he can’t call Eva by her real name.

The most sensual book I'd ever read. In the second book of The Passions, the journey of this remarkable group continues. I thought nothing could surprise me, I was wrong. big time. From the moment I started reading I could not put it down for a moment and I finished it in *only* six hour. I'm in love with each of the main characters and even dream about them at night. I'm now a member of the Russian prince team. I'M IN LOVE!!!
What can I say that I didn't say before? Just when you think that everything is going to be o.k Dana makes you think again... The journey to the u.s.a is so different from the one in Europe, the now reality chanced everything and now the group must chanced as well. Ethan... Oh Ethan, If the end of the world is coming please let me stay with him!!!!! 5 big shining stars!!!!
Ten stars. This book is unlike any other book in the genre and for me it's the book of the year. The characters has so much depth and it's impossible not to fall in love anew with each. A perfect continuation of The Passion to Survive which for me was the best I've ever read.
Sorry I just can't do it anymore, this is the most unprogressive and misogynistic book I've read in years. The plot has potential but when I read the book I feel nauseous. The book presents women as weak and as if they need a man to live, I read the first two books and until now there has not been a female character who is willing to fight instead of waiting for a man to save her, all the women are presented as weak and whiny and their skills are cooking tapir and gardening while all the men including our Jonathan that only in the first two pages of the story gave the feeling as if he was Eva's little brother and from there he also "controlled" her, all the men in the story are presented as warriors whose purpose is to protect kill and return to their home and have sex. And let's not talk about the fact that until now there hasn't been a single man in this story who calls Eva by her name or has some kind of crush on her. And the sex, oh the sex is so aggressive, Ethan is violent and abusive to Eva. It's sad that things are being normalized as if in our day.
I've read all of these books before. The storyline is great, but the info in the story and the way the writer writes the story is questionable. This is supposed to be from an Americans POV, but is written as though a European is writing the story and attempting to sound like an American, but not succeeding very well at all.
There are too many short and incomplete sentences causing the reader to fill in the rest themselves, which prevents the story from continuing smoothly. Also, I'm pretty sure the writer didn't do any research on military, military jargon, animal behavior, or anything else they wrote about in any of the books. Research is key when writing these types of books. Especially when some of your readers have actual experience with the military and working with animals.
It's disappointing because these books have so much potential.
The writer should have gotten a Copy Editor, Alpha/Beta Reader, or someone else who knows what they're doing, to look over the book before publishing.
It was a decent second book. However the lack of grammar check is super repetitive. But w that being said, I've already bought the 3rd book in the series to read. And I'm excited about it, I love following these characters.
