Hundreds of survivors gone. Men, women, and children. Vanished from a town that was one of the last bastions of civilization to ride out the apocalyptic worldwide blight.
But not forgotten.
A trio returning from an expedition across the wastelands carries with it hope for humanity. Hope for the future. Hope for their friends and loved ones. But they will have to find them first.
Only the smallest of clues as to their whereabouts are left behind. But it is enough to send Eric, Neil, and Elaine heading north. Sailing from town to town along the Alaskan coast. Finding allies and confronting enemies. Until finally they find themselves forced to enter a crumbling subterranean colony to rescue those they’ve been searching for.
But once they enter The Pit, the lives they’ve known and the people they’ve trusted will change--forever.
Noah Mann lives in the West and has been involved in personal survival and disaster preparedness for more than two decades. He has extensive training in firearms, as well as urban and wilderness Search & Rescue operations, including tracking and the application of technology in victim searches.
I felt a little bit let down with this one. First, it made no sense some military group taking civilians up to Alaska and then oops, taking them back again. That coupled with a crazy Russian and his militants causing death and mayhem seemed a bit contrived. I do find this mystery with Neil very interesting.
Parts of it were good adventure...parts not so much.
Once again the depressing survivors of the end of world fight to survive...yawn. And then of course the lead in for the next installment. I won't read the next one.
Great continued story, lots of action, new friends, new enemies and secrets. Will they find their friends? Just when you think its ending another layer unfolds, well done!
Loved this installment of this series. The storyline just keeps getting better and leaves you on the edge of your seat. I feel like I know the characters!
This was a good book and the action was constant. It is important to read the first three books to know who the characters are and how the situation developed.
