"Wicked Souls" by Sabrina Samples is a fantasy story about Spencer, a woman whose life falls apart shortly after her wedding. A car crash kills her husband and turns her life upside down in more than one way. A mysterious man in white appears to her and she learns that her husband was hiding a huge secret from her. Spencer gets drawn into the world of fallen angels and a battle between good and evil, heaven and demons.
The story is written with a strong narrative that made me feel with our heroine all the way through the many choices she is given and the ordeals she has to go through.
One aspect I enjoyed particularly was that her memories can be erased and returned to her, which gives the story an amazing flexibility and new dimension; making it less predictable than books in the genre can be. A 'love triangle', Spencer's confusion and her journey are more hooks for addictive readers.
The book is built on a strong idea and has some excellent plotting, passionate writing and a fast pace. It is easy to read and enjoyable and should do well amongst the fantasy fans.

I want to Thank the author for providing the book for an honest review :)

I have always loved angels and love every book which consists of angels and this book was no different. I would say it was predictable a little and story was little rushed. Where The girl fell in love quickly but afterwards I came to why.

A good concept and light book which twists and turns and new surprises in between. When you think you its over now what's left, then only another comes up!

Go go ahead and read this book. I would recommend this book to those who want a light, happy ending , sweet romance.. :)

I read these books late last year. I flew through them because they captivated me. They tell the story of heaven and hells struggle of power. All while a love story played out. But always expect the unexpected when Angels and demons are in play. I'm impatiently waiting for book 3.

Let's see, where do I start? I loved the storyline of the book, it's been a while since I've read about fallen angels and I'm glad I came across this book for that reason. The story is that Spencer loses her husband, David, in a car accident then as the book progresses, she finds out that she isn't just some ordinary human. She starts finding more about her past and who David really is and that's what the story revolves around as well stopping the bad guy. I felt that the book was a little too rushed and that there were a few gaps that could have been filled in to make the book a little better and longer. One of my friends mentioned how she thought the author seemed to have written the scenes at different points in time, and I sort of agree. The book is put perfectly together with the scenes and everything, don't get me wrong, but it just seems that it's all sort of jumbled in a way. It's difficult to explain, but think of it this way, the scenes are puzzle pieces and you're trying to fit them together to make the book, but some of the pieces are missing and the pieces are sort of all jumbled. It's a shame because I could see a lot of potential with the plot to create an amazing book. I did enjoy reading the book, but it was just..okay. The romance..it's sweet and adorable. I can't say too much about it or I'll spoil the book, but let's just say she meets someone from her past and it all goes from there. The romance also gave me some feels, feels is always good. The action..it mainly focused around the war between heaven and hell and there were quite a few head choppings. The action could have been a little bit more descriptive, but it was still good. I did enjoy the history that this book had to give, I always enjoy learning about the history of the species in books. I also did enjoy when all of the secrets were revealed, Spencer's past, David's identity, etc. It does keep you guessing until all is revealed. The ending..huge cliffhanger! So proceed with caution..hehe! Cliffhangers and I definitely have a hate/love relationship.

THE CHARACTERS:
Spencer-Spencer is our leading lady in this story. In the beginning, she sort of has some emotional breakdowns, I mean I don't blame her, she just lost her husband. As the story progresses, she becomes this strong warrior, and I use the word warrior because she does fight in the battle between Heaven and Hell and it's like she was an entirely different person, but at the same time she is just human like the rest of us. She has her emotional moments. Without giving too much away, Spencer does have some memories that were taken away from her and she also focuses on getting those back. With everything that she's been through, like I said earlier, she has her moments of being a strong woman as well as some moments of weakness.

Aiden- Aiden is the leading male in this story. I can't say much or it will give the story away, but Aiden is someone from Spencer's past and he is her love interest in the story after David passes away. He's a fallen angel and he becomes Spencer's guardian after her life was being threatened. Unfortunately, Aiden isn't on my list for book boyfriends, but he's really sweet to Spencer in the book and it did give me some feels. I do find it unfortunate how Aiden always gets captured at one point in the book, especially whenever Spencer needs him with her. For example, he would go downstairs and when Spencer goes downstairs, he's gone because he ends up getting captured by the bad guy. They all know Aiden means something to Spencer, so they capture him in hope of bargaining with her so she can help them. It happens a few times in the book, which I found it ironic cause it's usually the guy that's supposed to save the girl in most cases.

You meet David, whom is Spencer's husband in the beginning of the story. Spencer finds out who he really is later on in the book. There are many other characters you meet, especially a few of the angels that help Spencer out.

OVERALL: I give this book 3 stars. I just felt that it could have been a little bit better. The idea is great, but the way it was written..it felt too rushed. It was a good start to the series though! There will be a book 2, so I'm looking forward to that! I'm hoping book 2 will be better!

Imagine being told the life you thought you’d lived didn’t really happen. That your memories had been changed to protect you from evil.
Spencer Bishop is trying to remember who she really is. After being granted her memories back by an act of bravery, Aiden her true love and the Angels in Heaven try to get her to realise her true destiny and prevail over the evil that is set to destroy her and Heaven.
For a debut novel from this author I find this book to be a good start to what could be a great series.
I must admit I was a bit unsure while trying to get to grips with the first few chapters. The writing didn’t seem to flow very well and some sentences seemed almost juvenile, but I persevered.
Further along the writing seemed to change and it was easy for me to become carried away by the story.
The essence of the plot is very good although a few scenes made me feel I was being rushed through the story. I felt a little more explanation was needed. Why certain things were happening and what specific time frame.
There is an array of characters all playing their necessary part, none seemed inconsequential but as with the plot could have benefited from a descriptive that helped me imagine what they looked like.
My fascination with Angels always draws me to books like this and I was excited to read this one, this is a good story with a plot that makes me want to see how far this series can go. Spencer is an intriguing character and I think her time in Heaven could carry on to many great books.

This my first book by this author and I as most intrigued by the storyline.
This story begins with the marriage of Spencer to the man of her dreams David. It's a brief marriage as the newly weds suffer a car crash that has fatal consequences. Spencer is plagued by visions of a man in white and continually hears his voice but her grief over the loss of her beloved David is only the beginning of her problems. Pretty soon the strange man called Aiden convinces her that David and the life they shared was a sham. Spencer's life and memories have been altered to protect her and those in heaven. Yes, heaven is real ! Angels and demons will feature heavily in Spencer's life and she's in more danger than she ever dreamed.
Struggling to come to terms with so much change around her Spencer can only hope that the choices she now makes will be the right ones. She's not the ordinary human she believed and her very existence puts heaven at risk. Who can she trust and how can she survive? And just who is the man she's meant to be with?
I found this to be quite a quick read and found it a little strange at first. I loved the idea that the heroine could make choices and change her own destiny. I feel this is an interesting beginning to what could be quite a unique series. A good plot but I'd like to see more action in any follow up and I hope that this author will flesh out her characters more next time.
I'd rate this as a 3 and a half as I normally do prefer longer books

Imagine if you will, learning that your life is a lie. This is the story of Spencer Bishop. Her husband, her wedding, her life, all of it was a lie. For her protection? David, the man she married, is just a farce. Aiden is her true love, her avenging angel. An act of bravery restores her memories and her place in Heaven. But will Spencer embrace her destiny and be Heavens savior? Or it's destroyer?

The story was slow to start and sometimes explanation of a situation or more description of a character was needed, but eventually Samples found her footing and the story took off from there. For me it was with the introduction of Aiden and as he revealed more to Spencer the story just took off from there. An ample dose of twists and turns along the way added some suspense and intrigue. And then something major happens and I'm running my finger across the screen, and nothing. The end, well for now. So, yes there is a cliffhanger that I am anxious to jump in to!

I'd recommend Wicked Souls to readers that enjoy stories of romance, intrigue, true love, angels and a strong female lead. My personal favorite of the story wasn't introduced until the end, but there was just something about the utterly mysterious character Abaddon that drew all of my attention. Like I said, anxious for book two!

Spencer very clearly remembers her wedding to David and the year that followed. Driving home after a weekend with his parents, she swerves to miss a man dressed in white standing in the middle of the road and crashes. Spencer survives with minimal injuries while David has to stay overnight at the hospital. The morning after coming home from the hospital with David, she wakes up and finds that he has died sometime in the night. Spencer's life is about to get more interesting than she could have imagined.

Or did he? Visits from an angel, a demon, a trip to heaven. Memories of a wedding that didn't happen, no memory of a love that did, murder, angels, demons, and souls are at stake. Samples has put a new spin on the familiar tale of the war between heaven and hell, angels versus demons for control of earth and all souls. She threw a curve ball at the end that I wasn't in anyway anticipating.

This was an interesting book. The narrative isn't quite smooth in some places, but overall, a good novel for a first time author. If Samples continues the way she started, she will have a promising career as an author to look forward to. I hope she does. I want to see what happens in the sequel. I received this book free in exchange for an honest review.

This book is available from Amazon, Barnes & Noble (paperback only so far), and Smashwords.

Spencer Bishop is a woman with a wonderful husband, a great life and everything is going right. That is until the day she sees a figure in white in her windscreen and swerves to miss it. Life changes as she finds her whole life is a complete lie.

Dealing with the loss of her husband in the car crash where she saw the figure, the action quickly speeds up. There is a new someone in her life, someone who appears to her like a ghost only she soon realises that he is an angel and she knows him from her past. A past that she cannot remember, memories that have been hidden from her.

The writing moves us quickly from one scene to another, one minute Spencer is grieving for her husband, the next she becomes involved with the angel Aiden. She is soon caught up in a fight against good and evil, being the one that could change Heaven and Hell forever. I feel it could have been a little longer, with the scenes giving us a little more insight into how she feels with everything that is happening to her, maybe a little more description about the people and surroundings. I like the use of angels, fallen angels and demons and the love between humans and otherworldly creatures. The plot is strong; the editing great and for a debut novel it is a good start to a series. It will be interesting to see which way Spencer will lean in the battle ahead.

Wicked Souls by Sabrina Samples
This is a paranormal love story with the basic premise of Good Vs Evil.
This story however has a twist. The Evil is not as easily identified as usual. It might be the Evil inside that undone all the good that is done. Spencer needs to fight for Heaven, her life, her love and her immortal soul.
The premise of this story is a good if predictable one. It is the theme that stands out. Good Vs Evil is a universal story premise. When layered however of the good guys vs the bad guys, black against white etc and on top of that the main protagonist in the story needs to fight against in inner evil that is so base, so integral that it can destroy her or the life she is fighting for. I really liked the theme of the book. In order to make this work the author made a point out of writing her characters in such a manner that they are, none of them all good or all bad. And here in lies my problem with the story.
The characters show little if any growth. Some of the scenes that moved to action shots of battles fought over destiny is rushed and I feel as if the author could do a bit more world building to make me really feel as if I am part of this story. Still it is an extremely fast read and an easy read and I am sure other fans of the genre will absolutely adore this book.

How would you feel if the whole life that you thought you had and loved was a lie? Your husband, who you are, and your whole life that you have been living.

That is what happened to Spencer Bishop when she met Aiden. Aiden goes on to tell Spencer that this isn't her life and that she is really in love with him and Aiden is in love with Spencer. Spencer finds out that she has a great destiny and needs to remember everything in order to fulfill that destiny and save heaven from evil.

At the beginning of the story I was a little unsure about where the story was going to go, especially since this story was completely different from what I was used to. I gave the book a chance and continued reading and got really into it. The story was gripping with many twists and turns. The story's plot was a little hard to follow in the beginning because I wasn't sure what was going to happen but when Aiden started to reveal stuff to Spencer the story started to make a lot more sense and I really liked it.

For this being the author's first story it was really good. Wicked Souls did have a cliff hanger though and I can't wait for more.

I received this book to give an honest review.
After reading the blurb I was like this sounds like a really good book. And it has potential but for me it fell flat. Like really flat. There seemed to be no character building I couldn't relate to the main character in any way. Spencer has married David but when there is an accident that is when things start to become real. There are angels and demons that come into play. Spencer is made for something more than just a normal human life, she has memories that she wants to have back that were taken. Now there is a battle scene and I found it really weird that Spencer has no training what so ever. I mean she just jumps right into battle and doesn't truly get hurt. Found that really like umm this could have been wrote a bit differently. I think the author does have some good talent, but she could build up the story line more, more character building, and not having everything so rushed. I think there could have been more details in the way Spencer felt she seemed rushed to fall in the arms of another man, more details into how Heaven truly looked.

First off, thank you to the author for letting me read your book in exchange for and honest review.
I gave this book 3 stars, even though for me personally it was a 2 1/2.
Overall the story was good. It has potential, no doubt. To me the story felt rushed. I like it when things are explained, you can't really have a dead person in your house, call the cops and then leave. Or plan your husband funeral and make out with another guy. That just does not work for me.
The characters were difficult for me to like, I didn't feel them, as much as I wanted to I could not see them.
The book lacked a good editor and that is something that throws me of as well. The formatting was terrible, I am sorry. I don't know if that was a glitch, or if that was the actual way the book was formatted. I opened it up on my Kindle and on my PC and saw the same formatting on both.
I do believe once it's edited right and a maybe re-written a bit, then it could be a truly awesome story. But I will follow the series, because the storyline was good.

This book was entertaining, though written more like a B movie film. You’ve gotta just appreciate the cheesiness of it. It’s about a girl named Spencer who starts off getting married to a guy named David, next it jumps ahead to David dying. Then it launches you into a story about her and a guy named Aiden who is an angel. I seriously did think it was entertaining to read this book. The author does a lot of dialogue dumping, where she explained a whole lot of everything through the dialogue instead of just laying the story out. It has a love story in there just shortly after her husband’s death, which as a reader always makes me raise an eyebrow or two. It does have an interesting story line, and moves you along quickly. With some good editing, and a little less dialogue dumping it could be a really unique story.

definitely a 5 out of 5 starts!!! I could have finished this book last night, but I needed to go to sleep...lol

This book called Wicked Souls by Sabrina Samples, will definitely have you wanting more!! What would you do if your life was actually a lie?

Spencer Bishop found out that her life was a lie and found out the truth. Spencer is an offspring of an Angel and an Fallen Angel. Their has been told of her leading the Army of Angels down to Hell and destroying it for good. But the Angels have a Seer, she sees Heaven crumbling. But guess who she sees leading the Army of Demons into Heaven and destroying Heaven for good.

So, my question is, Do you believe in Heaven and Hell??

I can go into great detail, but I do not want to spoil the book, you must read it. I CANNOT wait for book 2...

I am so glad I won this book at the Phoenix Fire Publishing's Launch Party

I don't really know how I feel about this book. Spencer is involved in a car accident after seeing a figure in the roadway. After a tragic turn of events she meets Aiden, who is her long lost forgotten love. Who also happens to be an angel, who is supposed to be watching over her, even though he's not supposed to have contact with her. The book boils down to good vs evil, angels vs demons. I enjoyed the story line, but felt it moved to quickly. I didn't understand how Spencer just took everyone's word and never stopped to ask what was really going on. I did get sucked into the story quickly and felt like I needed to know what happened next, which is a big plus! I will read the second book to see what happens. Overall good read.

I received a free copy of this book from the author for an honest review. I've never read a story about angels before, so I'm not sure how unique Sabrina Sample's world is. I liked the world and the way Sample described the angels. I enjoyed the story and found myself quickly reading through it. The story and plot were good. I'm giving it a 4 star (really more of 3.5) because I wanted more character development and also because there were times in the book where I found myself wondering about the setting. I'd flip back a few pages and remind myself of where the characters were. The dialog was good, so at times I didn't mind forgetting the setting, but it did stick out to me. The book was a page turner though and I'm glad I was given the opportunity to read it.

Spencer is a woman who looses her husband in an accident but realizes things aren't what they seem. Something is missing, and she finds out it's all her memories.
She now starts learning that her life wasn't what she was led to believe and she had to fight heaven and hell to get everything that was stolen from her.
I really enjoyed this storyline, it's creative and original. The action is nonstop and it makes you desperate to turn the page to see what the outcome will be.
My only critique of Wicked Souls, is that the character development is a little lacking. I didn't get emotionally vetted to Spencer or anyone else. It felt a little choppy in those transitions.
It's still a fantastic read that I suggest for 16+.

Let me first state I'm not all that into the fallen angels and war on heaven thing that's part of this story line. There didn't seem to be character building that I would have liked to have seen. Those opportunities were missed which would have connected me with the characters more. It also seemed to be a bit jumpy in the narrative.

I did like the parts about the accident that started this particular chain of events. Overall, the book actually has a good concept behind. A woman has lost the memories she had and now she wants them back. That made sense to me. All in all, it's actually a good first effort and Sabrina will be one to watch later on.

A beautiful story line. The story of Aiden,Spencer and David is a must read. A nice piece of heaven that will make you wonder if this is what happens. A wonderful book, that captures you and leaves you wanting more. Sabrina Samples writes with a fluid grace. What a marvelous mind she has to come up with such a great story of fallen angels. It will make you wishing and hoping that one day we could actually know who our angels that look over us really are. I will be looking for book two patiently. A awesome first book.

Wicked Souls was just that, wicked. First, let me admit to not being a fan of the fallen angels concept. The story started off ordinary enough with not a hint of what was to come. Then everything began to shift and change. There were so many characters appearing and disappearing that I had a difficult time keeping up. I guess in fallen angel country things move at a rapid pace. The book was well-written and, as I said moved along at a rapid pace. As story goes, lovers of the fallen angel concept will enjoy this book tremendously.

Wicked Souls is a paranormal romance novel. It has your basic good vs. evil element to it but with a twist the evil is not easily identifiable. It is a pretty good story but I felt like it was sometimes too descriptive and in the begining moved pretty slow. However it did pick up and it has a potential to be a great series. I would love to read those following this one as well.
