I have read a lot of dark books but this was different. Interesting and unique plot and a complicated hero with a very specific disorder.
Eternity has known suffering from a very young age. The hardships she has to face make her strong enough to protect her younger sister at all costs. When her parents are gone, a new nightmare begins at the hands of her uncle, Carlos. Soon, she is given away as a prize to Illicit Angels, a sex club. There, she will meet Ryker Justice; the man who is supposed to be her owner. Through the fear and abuse, she will see something in the dark man who manages to capture her emotions.
Justice wants to protect her because she belongs to him. But in order to do that he must embrace the darkest parts of himself. Will Eternity survive him?
The writing was refreshing and easy to follow. The characters were deliciously dark and mysterious and I especially loved Eternity's bravery. Our elusive couple oozes chemistry and their interactions are amazing to read as they unfold.
The author deals with DID in this book and so far I loved how she handled her hero's condition. Excellent work. I am very excited for the next book.
5 Beastly Stars from me.
I was given a copy in exchange for my honest review. Thank you, Alicia Taylor.

HOLY SHIT! This story is one crazy, messed up, couldn’t get enough, must have more now story! It is dark and disturbing, yet I want more!

Eternity is living a pretty crappy life. Her parents are murdered. Her uncle is molesting her and then she is stolen by five men.

“I once thought I was living a nightmare. I now know my nightmare has only just begun.”

She is being held against her will and forced to be an “Angel.” However, one of the employees claims her.

Ryke Justice is dark, dangerous, and cold-blooded. He is not just a man, but a beast.

“The click from man to beast is instantaneous, from calm to murderous, from normal to killer.”

Eternity, or Envy as he calls her, was a promise to him, one that he thought he would never get fulfilled. He has a need to protect her and worship her. But he knows he needs to keep her safe from the beast.

There is a magnetic connection between Eternity and Justice. They can’t seem to stay away from each other, even when they know it is wrong.

“Justice has darkness surrounding him and demons in his eyes. I should stay away. I shouldn’t want anything to do with him. But I do.”

This story blew me away. I couldn’t put it down and can’t wait for more. I am so intrigued by Ryke as well as Justice. I can’t wait for Envy to show me her brave. Please don’t make me wait too long for more! ~ Tiffany, 4.5 stars

"Lost in that moment - when I stare into their eyes as their soul slips away and they take their last breath - is my aphrodisiac. Causing hurt feeds my monster. We bask in their blood. Each scream is my medication."

What happens when you are discarded from your perfect and privileged life and have to claw your self through each night just to survive till the break of the dawn. When the one person you trusted to keep you safe turns into the monster that now haunts your dreams? To be able to see an end of the horror as your eighteenth birthday fast approaches having scraped your way to expending freedom for the ordeal to begin anew and the reality is ...the horrors have only just begun. Meet Eternity who's charmed life shatters at fourteen when someone enters her home and kills her parents. Having had the rules drilled into her by her parents she follows the protocol and asks her Uncle for help. Almost four years on and Eternity has endured far more than most. As she bides her time, taking the abuse nightly until she can legally walk away as an adult and be sole guardian for her sister the past comes back to haunt her.

Sold. Into a world a rich and deprived world. A promise when she was only fourteen she is now nothing more than a broken promise that should have been wiped out on that fateful night. She has become an Angel. Follow the rules or be punished. Be available, be alluring and most of all please the highest bidder no matter the cost of your soul. No longer allowed to think without permission, just a walking fantasy for men that are powerful, wealthy and most of all hunger for all things illicit. This is Eternity's new life, after suffering her "training" at her Uncle's hand nothing can prepare her for the next six months. Her status a new angel means she is there to learn, to be forged into the perfect sexual fantasy by fear, pain and total control. The flames of anger, injustice and pain are hard to extinguish, deals made and broken crush her young girl dreams and she must find the strength to survive, to "Accept it. Like it. Live it." Yet the man with the wolf eyes calls to her in this living hell. He appears to be her solace, but will he make this Angel fall?

Ryke is the Illicit Angels very own brand of Justice. Dealing with anyone that breaks the rules or steps out of line Justice deals in blood, death and pain. His turbulent eyes reflecting his battle to calm the raging beast that demands the screams of anyone that dares to stand against him. Like a warrior of old he swaggers headlong into danger and emerges victorious and his boss uses his skills to maximum effect. Recognising his Angel, the broken promise of almost four years ago, Justice must abide by the club rules. Stepping up to train her and protect her as much as he can from the lifestyle she has awoken to, can he resist her for six months? His monster inside wants to feast on her fears and play with her whilst fiercely protecting her from anyone else but Ryke is battling his own demons from the past, searching for redemption in Eternity's battle to survive. Can she calm both the man and the beast? Can she survive his darkness?

This amazing first in the series is wickedly dark and brutal. Opening with blood and ending in a most magnificent cliffhanger revelation I enjoyed every word. Never shying away from the grim reality of the sex trade, abuse and non consensual acts at times I was reading between my fingers. But the scenes although are graphic are never over the top nor there just for shock value. Well written, dramatic and wonderfully descriptive I feel like I have run my finger tips over the carved Angels, walked through the corridors and sat down to watch the show. Eternity is strong and courageous, fighting to save her sister throughout. Ryke is a haunted man, his past has a right hold of him and he battled constantly with the beast that shares his body. Learning about him slowly through the one permitted question per day is captivating, slowly stripping back his layers. I need more!

A four and a half star #ShowMeYourBrave read.

I was looking forward to see what Alicia had done with her first solo book.

I was really surprised and not in a bad way. This book is the type of book that pulls you in from the first page and has a grip on you that will not let go until you have finished.

We follow Eternity, a girl who at first had a sheltered life and then at the age of 14 years old, everything shatters around her. Losing her parents is an event that tears at her soul, but she becomes strong and looks after her younger sister.

You would think that after the event of loosing her parents, things couldn't get any worse, but they do. You feel for her as her life is changed for the worse and it is all out of her control. Forced into a world that she has never even contemplated existed. She doesn't lose any of her fight, and this might very well be a blessing in disguise.

Ryke Justice is a man who is so lost, so troubled, there are two sides to him.
You really do not mess with a man like him and it is a death wish that will come true.

Ryke meets Eternity and there is something about her that calms and soothes him. They seem to be made for each other.

Alicia has written a book where it is dark as well as dirty, and by no means a fluffy romance.
It contains certain themes that may be triggers for some, so beware of this before reading.

I loved reading every minute of this book and Alicia has written a read that keeps you interested as well surprising you at certain points.

A fantastic solo debut book, a storyline that is easy to follow and flows beautifully.

I look forward to the next book, as I really really, really need to know what happens next.

DNF at 60%. I don't understand whether this is a paranormal romance or not. There is a lot of talk about some supposed "beast" inside the Hero that wants to kill people and mate with the heroine. The hero seems to have imprinted on the heroine, because he 'felt' something just by looking at a photograph of the h (back when she was only 14 years old!). The h calls him "Wolf Eyes" and seems to be quite OK with the fact that she has been abducted by her parents' murderers and is being kept in some sort of weird brothel, where she will be sold to the highest bidder.

I don't like paranormal romances, and it doesn't state that this is a PR in the blurb. If this lame story is indeed a normal story and all the insufferable Wolf/Beast references were made to establish the fact that the H is some sort of hardcore alpha, then the author should seriously just send me my time and money back. I don't know how this has gotten so many 4-5 stars.

Not recommended for readers who like their stories to unfold, rather than being told so and so happens between one-dimensional characters.

I have to confess. I am usually not that much into dark romance novels but when I read the synopsis of this book there was just something that caught my eye. And considering that Alicia Taylor was a new author to me, I decided to risk it and give the book a chance. And damn, am I happy that I took the chance. I was sucked into the story from the first few sentences and I was kept on my toes till the last sentence. Although, if I have to be honest, I wasn't released even then. I am simply dying to find out what will happen next. The story in intriguing and unexpected. I can guarantee that there are few twists and turns that you will never see coming. The book is a mind roller coaster, filled with danger, deceive, sexual tension and even humor from time to time. I am sure you will be intrigued but keep in mind that mostly everything you read is not exactly as it seems to be.

As for the main characters, I fell in love with them. They are complex and well developed and I felt their heartbreak and pain bleed through the words. Ryke is definitely one of the most interesting main characters I've ever encountered. He is a study of contrasts. Even his appearance is contradictory and differs depending on the moment you catch him in. He is tall, massive, with wide and bulky shoulders. His body is hard, sharp and ripped. But what really captivated me, was his face, and more in specific, his eyes. I mean, yes, his sharp angled face and plump kissable lips are definitely intriguing but what makes him irresistible, are his eyes. They differ in color and they are the physical proof of his two sides. One has the color of story clouds, with silver lightning streaks veining through it and perfectly describes the monster in him. The other is electric blue with the same silver lightning streaks snaking through it. In my mind it represents the lighter side of him. His soul is broken and he lived through a nightmare in his early years. And that's what made him the man he is. He possesses a force of darkness and emanates a force of darkness. I cannot say that he is not dangerous but exactly that danger and brokenness in him is what makes him so captivating. But his monster finds peace when he meets Eternity. With her startling blue eyes and the strength shining through their stormy depth, she is his salvation. But they have a long way ahead of them

Eternity in intriguing in her own right. She lived one nightmare after the other since her fourteenth birthday. She lived through a tragedy as a kid and later on she was betrayed by the people she was supposed to trust. The people who were supposed to take care of her. And the end, she ends up in a place from her worst nightmares. Something she never though she would have to experience. She finds solace in the one person who everyone fears. Justice (Ryke) is dark, dangerous and deadly but he sets her body on fire. Even though she knows she should fear him, he is the one person who makes her feel safe in the god forsaken place she is forced to stay. If Envy (Eternity) is Ryke's (Justice's) Illicit Angels, then he is her Fallen one.

In a few words, I was floored by this story. It is intriguing and mysterious, Filled with danger, sexual chemistry, lies and deceive. There are even moments with humor that will make you smile. I can guarantee you will be captivated by the characters and they will find their place in your heart. If you haven't read anything by Alicia Taylor so far, this is the perfect book to start with. Just keep in mind that it ends up with a cliffhanger and you will be simply craving the next part. Me personally, I hope it comes out soon because I can't wait to find out what will happen next with Envy and Justice and to reveal more of their secrets. This is definitely a must read.

This will cut you to the quick, I feel almost as if has picked me up off the floor and shaken me so hard my teeth are still chattering.
In the four years since that fateful night that her parents were murdered, Eternity has been through what can only be described as a living hell.
Counting down to her eighteenth birthday, Eternity is literally ticking off the minutes – that magic number cannot come soon enough, because it brings with it the opportunity to finally break free. To escape the clutches of her Uncle and give herself and her sister a future that they are both so desperate for.
But life has yet more heartache to heap upon Eternity’s young shoulders because despite everything she could have possibly imagined, all the torment and abuse that she has suffered, could never have imagined that her future was to be sealed with one word…Sold.
What she has been through was nothing more than a training ground for what she has to endure now – she is an Angel. One where she has no free will, no choices, she is a commodity and she has two options… accept it or face the consequences.
As a new angel she is learning what is expected from her and she is finding it hard to not only accept but to comprehend. She is a plaything, to be auctioned off to the highest bidder, people who have no scruples and enough money to allow them the opportunity to indulge in whatever they desire.
Ryke is Justice the enforcer, the man that keeps the punters in line, no matter who they are. The last place you ever want to be is on the receiving end of what he has to meat out because he has no limits!
But is there more to him that everyone sees, what does he have in his soul?
With Eternity in his sights he has a task to perform, he will train her and show her what exactly is expected but there is more there than he is prepared to let on, he will do what is expected but he is also desperate to protect her as much a she can from her new environment.
Ryke is a dark character he has demons that lurk beneath his surface, ones that if let loose will devour him but Eternity is like a balm to his soul in some respects, his desperation to help her is almost as if it is what he needs to make good the evil of his past.
Can Eternity be what Ryke needs?
I have to say that this was a book that held nothing back, it came at you with both barrels and never let up the whole way through.
It brought the ugly truth of the sex trade to the fore and never let me forget that the oldest profession known to man has a dangerously dark underbelly where there are no limits, nothing is off the table and it was shocking.
I was blown away by the depth of description that the author bled into the story, the details she imparted were more than I could handle at times but I was thankful that she didn’t sugar coat her story, this needed to be as harsh as it was in order to enforce the seriousness of the situation.
An amazing start to what I have no doubt will be an exceptional series

☆♡☆♡☆♡♡☆♡☆♡☆ 5 STAR REVIEW ☆♡☆♡☆♡♡☆♡☆♡☆

Warning! This book isn’t your typical romance. It’s dark, dirty, and dangerous. This series contains dark subject matter, including sexual abuse, kidnapping, torture, rape and murder. 18+ only.

Eternity had the perfect life, or so she thought. She had parents her cared for her, maybe a little too much and a sister who she adored. People on the outside would think that Eternity was living a fairy tale life, until the one night, on her 14th birthday that everything was taken away from her. For the next four years Eternity and her sister live with her uncle, the one who was the light in their impending darkness. But all lights fade and eventually leave you in darkness. When Eternity turned 15, the darkness consumed her world once again in the form of her uncle’s unwanted advances. For 3 years Eternity deals with her uncle and his wandering hands, she does it to protect her sister. It isn’t until the eve of her 18th birthday that Eternity finds out the truth behind her uncle’s late night visits. Will Eternity be strong enough to handle what lies ahead or will she break at the first touch?

Ryke Justice is a dark and dangerous man, consumed by a past that has been haunting him for 10 years he gets off on pain. If you want something or someone taken care of, Justice is the man you call. There is a beast inside Justice that is dying to get out and there are plenty of times that we see him at the touch of a hand. So many times we think Justice is going to let the beast take over, but then Eternity enters his world. She was promised to him years ago and she has finally come of age for Justice to stake his claim on her. Will Eternity be enough to calm the beast inside? Or will the beast come out ready to claim what he feels is rightfully his?

I’m not one who usually enters the dark side when it comes to books, but this one was so wonderfully written that the dark elements just blended in with the rest of the story. I love how brave Eternity was as she was vowed to protect her sister. The instant attraction between Eternity aka Envy and Justice was undeniable and you could tell that there would be a lot of hot moments in store for these two. I need to know more about Justice and I look forward to seeing where their story goes.

I have to give kudos to Ms. Taylor for bringing a disorder to light that not many authors have touched upon. I can’t wait to see how this disorder plays out through the rest of the series.

Such a dark and heartbreaking novel, and yet such a page turner, it is difficult to leave it for a second. Two different and captivating characters who four years ago their lives were changed for the worst: Eternity lost both parents and her life as a princess with her sister Nevaeh, and Ryke lost his beautiful Envy, only fourteen, sold by her father, for a pass into Illicit Angels, and become Justice. On Eternity’s eighteenth’s birthday, she had hoped to leave her past, the torture, the deception and especially the crap her uncle fed her every day for the past four years with her sister and run and disappear only to find out that her father’s contract is still valid and she has no choice but to become another of Illicit Angels’. On the flipside, Justice can’t believe his luck, Envy is back at Illicit and takes no time making sure that under no circumstances is she to be touched, looked or insulted, or they will have to deal with him. An unlikely pair, thrown together once again, will they find what they both need to survive and find out what it means to truly live?

Yay another great dark read! That hit the spot for all the wrongs you don’t want to admit to liking but indeed love.

Dark reads are like the ‘forbidden’ you feel a bit damned if you do love them and oh boy I love them, so damn me to hell and back. I love to read the unreadable, the unthinkable and the downright mess with your head. If that have that slither of redemption, doesn’t have to be much but just that little inkling of rhyme and reason then oh boy watch out. Illicit Angels has that slither, Justice is the dark and Ryke and is the slither of light.

What Eternity aka Envy has to endure is downright horrible, there’s a couple of scenes in this book that has you close to chucking the book down in a red haze, the bit just after the start, what happens to her then, nope, that did not meld with me at all. If there is one bit in this book that I cannot gel with it’s definitely that. My head could not justify it or give it ‘reason’ to be there. But I got past it and boy I’m glad I did, also because I'm twisted in the head and I HAVE to know what comes next, the story then ramps up a gear and she becomes an Angel.

The characters then hit you in the face. They are despicable but some have an air of doing right. Your whole brain pretty much forgets that hell, they are all WRONG, doing what they are doing but you in this bubble of false security as you continue to read on.

Then a scene that comes next is just WOW, powerful indeed. Brilliantly written and as much as you HATE reading it, it needs to be there. It festered in my head and I wanted to know of course what Justice would do.

Fast paced read as such, I read it in one sitting very late at night, well actually from midnight onwards, I couldn’t put it down. I definitely wanted to chuck the kindle at the end, I cannot wait to read Brutal Submission, I hope to god the wait is not long. I think this book could have been written as one book, but that’s my opinion. Certainly suspense wise and what comes next will definitely have you wanting to reach out to book two. I hope (because I’m selfish that it finished for Eternity in book 2, we shall see.)

I received a copy of Illicit Angels in return for an honest review and I bloody loved it even the bits I found hard. My reviews are my own and are 100% honest.

5 OMG What is Happening to Envy Stars

WOW!!! that is all I can say at first! I am hooked. Yes this is not a book for everyone. This book does have dark elements. Now besides that disclaimer. I think this is a must read!!!!!

Eternity Rivera is a young lady who was forced to grow up too fast. After seeing her parents die at the age of 14, Eternity and her younger sister move in with her Uncle. Eternity life is thrown another hurdle when things at Uncle Carlos's home are way worse than the death of her parents.

Then at the age of 18, her world is thrown upside down again when she is "Taken" by those who she was originally sold to 4 years prior.

Ryke, is a mysterious man with a personality that is so hot and cold. He can change back and for the between the two at a moments notice. He wants Eternity, or as she is now called Envy. He will protect her from all the other prying eyes, except for one!

Justice wants the new Angel, Envy, too and nothing will stop this beast from taking what he wants! He wants to break her and make her his.

As things unfold and threats are made, will Envy accepts Ryke's offer as long as her little sister is safe? A web has been woven and I cannot wait to see how this will all pan out. Who sold her, why was she sold? Who are these people and what will happened to Eternity/Envy?

Will Ryke, Justice or the highest bidder claim and take Envy?

Oh my!! This book had it all, kidnapping, rape, sexual abuse, and murder. It is a dark and twisted read.

Eternity life was destroyed when her parents were murdered. She and her sister went to live with her uncle and boy that was a turn for the worst. The first 2 and half years were okay, but then the sexual abuse started. Eternity thought she could leave on her 18th birthday and be able to take her little sister with her; however that didn't happen, she was sold to pay off a debt.

Ryke, otherwise known as Justice, is dangerous and wants Eternity when he first saw her at the age of 14 years, but waited until the time was right to have her.

Eternity has been brought and her name is changed to Envy. She must learn her place among the Angels and Justice is the one who will teach her. Justice is very dark and dangerous and will kill at a moments notice. No one is allowed to touch Envy and if they do, they will live to regret it.

The physical attraction between Justice and Envy is strong, but can she survive being an Angel.

Beware of cliffhanger, the secret of Ryke aka Justice is revealed, but the awaking of a monster is being unleashed. There are a lot of sexual abuse scenes within this book as this is not a typical love story.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Wow what a book!! I could not put it down.
***Fair warning, sexual abuse and metal illness are part of this book.***
A girl kept from living a active life by her parents
Eternity learns at a young age to hide when needed, not to trust the police, to protect her little sister.
One day her parents are killed, she hides herself and her sister in a secret place in her room, every room has a hidden room. After coming out of the hiding spot Eternity has to face the ugly scene where her parents are, her mother barely alive says their uncles name. Eternity calls her uncle Carlos and their life changes.
The day before Eternity turns 18 she plans her escape from her uncle and all the things he has done to her over the past 2.5 years. something and uncle, some one you trust and love should never do to a child. Carlos tells Eternity the real reason behind the actions for the abuse but all she knows is the love her parents showed her.
Eternity is taken from her uncle to a life he was trying to prepare her from.
A promise, a Angel. Eternity is forced into a life that her father sold her to.
Can she survive her promise, can she be strong, can she be brave. To save her sister she must.
Oh I cant wait to read the next book.

WOW!!!! This book starts off with a bang and I mean literally with a BANG and it doesn't stop...not even at the END!!

Eternity has always lived a loving, sheltered life, but her father has always taught her to be wary of people. Everything changes after she turns fourteen. Now four years later Eternity doesn't think it can get any worse. The one person who her father always taught she could trust is a horrible person and she can't wait to turn 18 and get out of the hell she is living. But once again fate has a way of messing that up. Thrust into a life she never knew even existed she meets Justice. The scariest, yet most interesting man she has ever met. He is as brutal as he is caring. One minute murderous, the next steely control. She can't figure him out and she isn't sure she wants to, but if that is the only way to save her sister than she will do whatever it takes.

This book kept me on my toes! I was never sure what was going to happen next!! I was dragged deep into the dark with this one!! I love how the author is intertwining characters and giving them depth. I don't want to give anything away but this book will keep you turning pages ALL NIGHT LONG!!

Eternity (aka Envy)loses her family violently at the age of 14. She and her sister are taken in by her uncle, the man who she thought was her savior ends up being anything but.
He begins preparing her for a life she will be forced into at 18, only he doesn't explain any of this to her until moments before she's taken.
She was a promise made years ago and the time to claim her has come.

Ryke Justice isn't a good man. He's dark, dirty, dangerous and quite literally has two sides, one of which requires violence to placate.
Eternity was his promise for years ago, she was to be his but was too young, now she's of age and his beast want's to claim her.

Ryke has some serious issues, the life he's in feeds into them so really he has no chance at resolving them as is. Envy is his weakness and his salvation all at once but his way of dealing with that is to turn his beast loose on her and hope she survives.

I'm dying to know what happens next, for both Justice and Envy. Both their lives are about to change in a big way, the cliffhanger ending has me wanting to bite my nails waiting to see where their story goes.

HOLY F*CKING SH*T!! What did I just read??
This is one dark story, but I just couldn't get enough of it.
Eternity has be living a crappy life but things only just get worse. She ends up being kidnapped and forced to become an "Angel". But Ryke claims her even before she goes up for bidding. Ryke is dark, dangerous and cold blooded. He's a killer and doesn't care what anyone else thinks.
He has this beast inside him, he takes over his body and sometimes he can't even remember what happened when the beast had control.
Eternity is strong, she's been through a lot and is learning things that she never thought possible about her family.
The connection between Eternity and Ryke is all consuming. They both know they should stay away from each other, but it's impossible.
I loved every second of reading this. It was absolutely amazing, the characters draw you in from the start. The story is gripping and kept me on the edge of my seat. I'm left wanting more and I really hope I don't have to wait long.

The first solo book from Alicia Taylor has a dark edge to it. Starting from the night Eternity Rivera lost her parents in a brutal attack on her home, Illicit Angels shows us how a promise made long ago can have dire consequences when the recipient of said promise, comes to collect their "gift".

Although it started off with some disturbing moments, this book turned out to be different than what I was expecting. Yes it was dark. Yes it was a downright immoral situation. And yes, the male lead, Ryke Justice, was a badass killer you did not want to get on the wrong side of. (Under him maybe...lol)

But Holy Cow! It had intrigue, it had mystery, it had brutality and it had me turning page after page until it was done. There was a twist to this at the end, and it left me more than ready for part two of this series.

I'm still trying to figure out why I loved this book...

Wow...if you are looking for the usual flowery romance book, don't bother with this one. This story contains subject matter that is dark...murder, sexual abuse, rape and sex slavery. But right from page one Alicia has pulled me into Eternity/Envy's world and I just want to know more and more. And I don't have the words yet to describe how I feel about Ryke/Justice. As he states in the book, he is a monster, but I need to know what made him this way. I want to know why he's drawn to Envy. his battle with the good and the evil inside of him leaves me wanting to open up his soul and and allow him to find his own peace.

I'm waiting on pins and needles for the next installment in this riveting series...

Omg this is one of my fave Alicia Taylor books! It is dark, dangerous, twisted, sexy and I couldn't put it down! I want and need more and I need it now! It's a very interesting and intriguing story that just keeps getting better and better! It's definitely worth more than 5 stars!
One girl who's life is about to change more then she has ever expected, one man or monster depends on how you look at him his live is changing more then he thought it would! But will they be strong enough to deal with each other!
I can't wait to read more so much more!

I loved this book, however I can not express my complete frustration that it is taking so long for part 2. I find the waiting time so ridiculous considering that part 1 of Illicit Angels came out almost a year ago in 2015. This is just one of the many reasons I dislike this irritating trend that many authors are now adopting. When authors break up their novels into pieces of silly and annoying little cliffhangers. It's worse then a darn soap opera, at least with a soap you get to see what's going to happen the next day!
Please Ms. Taylor, hurry with part 2. I believe it's long overdue! I would have definitely given this book 5 stars if not for the series format and the ridiculous wait for part 2.
