Boobilicious has captured my heart and soul with this series. Absolutely MUST READ!

Omg!!!! So I started the book and then had to put it down. Low key made the this author is tearing out my heart and soul instantly. So... I had to express this to said author. I was reassured that it wouldn't be broken long.

Wasnt she telling the freaking truth with that. I LOVE YOU NATE!!!! Lick!!!! So hard to put the book down.

You have a girl Kit n her Bestie for like 10+ yrs. She asks him to do her a live changing favor and then by the end of the night I was broken... I mean she was broken.

The turns, trials and tribulations that tales place inside and outside of Spiraling Ink will make me on the edge of your seat but darn it one handedly reading it at the same time.
The passion and love that was put into this story can take over anyone in their right mind. Otherwise I may have to say you have the heart like Victoria the evil QB!!!

Long story short. If the rest of this series is as good as book 1. Ooohh boyyy lol.

No wonder why Karen Raines named this book Loved because that is exactly what happened. I LOVED this book. From page one this book flowed beautifully. I went from crying to laughing to sighing and swooning. Not only were the main characters brilliant but I fell hard for every character, and can't wait to read more about them in The Spiralling Ink Series.

Four and a half stars

Loved is the first book in the Spiralling Ink series by Karen Raines. The book is primarily a romance, but also has drama, suspense, mystery, tragedy, humour and an EVIL “villain”.
Kit (Kathryn) is sassy, curvy (think mini Jessica Rabbit), sexy, feisty and loyal- a talented artist and part owner of Spiralling Ink Tattoo Shop. Oh, and a virgin, a 25 year old virgin. Tired of being the odd one out and to see what all the “fuss” was about sex- she convinces her best friend Matty to take her virginity. She trusts him completely and even though they have no romantic feelings towards one another, Matty agrees and is happy to help.
Kit and Matty are the heart of a larger group of friends, “The Magnificent Seven”- Kit, Matty, Neil, Chris, Claire, Mark and Hayley. Their bond proves that you don’t have to be blood related to be family. They care so deeply for one-another, you couldn’t find a closer, more loyal group of friends. A night out on the town with Kit and her friends ends in tragedy and changes all their lives, forever. We follow them through this devastating and heart-breaking experience, as they band together to try to come to grips with what happened. Will their bonds of friendship see them through these darkest of days and help them overcome such adversity? A surprise gift that Matty gives Kit has a large part to play in all of this- touching their lives profoundly.
The day Nate O’Keeley walks into Spiralling Ink, Kit finds herself instantly and overwhelmingly attracted to him, so much so that she is lost for words and that NEVER happens. He is the most gorgeous specimen of manhood Kit has ever laid eyes on. He is tall, muscular and oh so sexy, with dreamy eyes and kissable lips. Nate is captivated by Kit’s sassy attitude and her luscious curves. Sparks ignite between the two of them that result in some HOT, panty melting moments of unbridled passion. But with both of them holding onto secrets, as well as dealing with all that has transpired up to that point- can their developing relationship endure everything life is throwing at them?
This book has a wonderful storyline and really likeable characters, with the exception of the vile, hateful “villain”. Karen Raines has written a book that tugged on my heartstrings from the very first chapter. I was a blubbering mess by the end of chapter one, with the tissue box beside my Kindle and very sodden tissues strewn around me. The beginning of the book was intense, heartbreaking and emotional- and yet quite beautiful. I found the story developed and flowed really well and I was so absorbed by it, that I read it in a day.
“Loved” is set in about a year of Kit’s life, it has a H.E.A and can be read as a standalone. The epilogue of this book covers any unanswered questions, while setting up for the next book in the series that will be centred round one of the other “Magnificent Seven”. I will definitely be reading book 2 in the Spiralling Ink series!
This is really great book from Karen Raines.

This is my first book by Karen Raines and whilst it’s very emotional I can honestly say that this is author is now on my all time favourite author list. As soon as you pick up this book your emotions are going to be all over the place and you will honestly have no idea what you’ll be in for with this book. The events that the people in this book go through is honestly shocking and the conclusion for the events that take place honestly won’t be what you think, you will be thrown off guard.

Now you’re probably wondering what this book is about, well I’m not going to go full on into details as I wouldn’t want to spoil this for you. Now Kit (known as Kathryn) has been hanging with her group of friends for as long as she can remember, she hangs around with her one best friend Matty the most. However for as long as she can remember she hasn’t found love all that appealing to her, so of course she hasn’t ever slept with anyone. But for some reason after seeing her sister Claire look all happy after she has settled down with her new boyfriend Kit can’t help but wonder what sex would be like. So as she’s 25 she asks the one person who she knows she can count on..... Matty fills in and offers to be the one for her to pop her cherry with. But after a night out with the gang her life makes a change forever....

That’s all I’m really going to allow you to know, I seriously suggest that you pick up this book and give it a read. I am seriously looking forward to reading the next book in the series. But seriously people this is amazing and Karen is honestly an amazing writer.

Debut novel that's easy to read, with a good storyline, likeable characters and a few steamy sex scenes. We're introduced to Kit (Kathryn) and her circle of friends on a night out that changes all of their lives. The book then follows Kits' story as she comes to terms with how her life changes after that fateful night. We're also given snippets of her friends lives sowing the seeds for future books within the series. There is a dip in pace in the middle of the book but do keep reading, there's a twist coming!
Only 4 stars as it's a competitive genre and the writing is a little raw in places but I'm looking forward to the second in the series and I'm sure Karen Raines is one to watch!

I loved this book. It pulled a whole barrel of emotion from me and the plot twists kept me guessing too.
This book had me in tears in a few places, but mostly within the first chapter.
I loved the bond between Kit and her friends, the humour and the frivolity between them reminded me of my group of friends when I was younger.
I can't wait to read the next book in this series. :) I love Karen's writing style.

Raines has created an amazing group of friends that has the reader anxious to become a part of. While this story focuses on Kit, her story is not complete without her friends, as this group of 7 is more akin to family than friends. The friends are in the process of opening up a tattoo shop, which follows in their, and an uncle's dream. Each person has their place within the shop, even if it's just stopping by to visit. Each character is so well written that you feel a part of their group instantly.
The day Kit chooses to give up her virginity to her best friend Matt, (in a most hilarious manner), tragedy strikes the group leaving her sister raped and poor Matty dead.
Mourning the loss of their friend, and trying to recover, Kit learns she is carrying Matt's baby, a precious gift from beyond. We follow Kit's story from dealing with Matt's overbearing and hateful mother to Kit falling in love and learning to heal. The introduction of Nate, Kit's love interest, makes a wonderful addition to the friends. While it is clear he is not there to replace Matt in any way, he takes on the role of friend, protector, and father perfectly. My most favorite line from the book regarding Matt, which spoke of how much one came to love him in reading "He may have missed a lot, but he had sure lived while he was here". A poignant reflection on what it means to truly live life.
The book had me crying and laughing all within the same chapter. Loved is a beautifully written tale of true friendship, the ups and downs that come with it, and the journey to healing after tragedy.

Karen captured me with her Don't Judge a Book series, so I was excited to read this series.
Loved didn't disappoint. Karen Raines' sense of humour shines through yet again, but not only that, she drags every other emotion out of you.
I'm glad I hadn't read the write-up on here before going into the book though lol.. I had no idea what I was in for and at 15% I was a sobbing mess !!
This story centres around Kit, but the wonderful group of friends around her play a big part as well and sets up future stories for other characters which I can't wait to read.
Kit is feisty, funny and full of witty comebacks..well she was until she met Nate - then she became the blushing girly girl who couldn't get a sentence out properly! I loved this change in her as it showed just how much Nate affected her.. and I'm not surprised PHEW he is scorching hot ... funny, sexy, with a dirty mouth ! PERFECT!!
The story takes you on a bumpy ride as this group of friends overcome heartbreak and continue to build their lives after the loss of a much-loved friend. Not only that, there were other events on that night that have deep-lasting effects on them all and we see the group rally around and protect each other.
Several plot lines that have you turning the pages quicker than you can read bring an edge and suspense to the story that makes doing 'real life' a chore until you get to the end - I needed matchsticks last night but there was no way I could put it down.
I hate to do it, but I did minus half a star because of the tense changes in the first part of the book.. this is Karen's debut novel and her writing style is amazing and I know from reading her later novels that it just gets better and better so I am looking forward to delving into the rest of the Spiralling Ink series.

This book, Loved: Kit's Spiral (Spiralling Ink, #1 reminds me somewhat of The Breakfast Club only much better. A group of friends, Kit, Matty, Clare, Haley, Mark, Chris, and Neil, that grew up together to become one unique set of friends/family.
Even when tragedy hits, losing one of their friends to murder and a couple badly hurt, their bond strenthens through all their pain and sorrow.
This story mainly focuses on Kit and the  challenge she accepted from Matty about moving on in life, but it wouldn't be complete without the strength of the other characters. The humor of the characters acting out like small siblings teasing each other every chance they get and the banter. I laughed so hard at some of their frolics.
This is a beautiful story well written with amazing characters!! This is definitely a must read! Can be. standalone. Off to Strength, Book 2 of this series.
Tragedy, love, humor, moving on, grief, heartbreak, passion. I am volunteering and honest review for an advanced readers copy.

WoW!! Kit asked her best friend of forever to do her a favor. She asked him to help her lose her virginity. That day became the best and worst day of her life. But he made her promise that she will live her life, find love and go on dates. At the time she was just placating her best friend. Then later when she meets Nate she understands what he was asking of her. He even makes her feel girly. This is a man who will do anything to protect what he loves and that includes her . But being with Kit comes with baggage and a little turmoil. I loved every character in this book. The family that these group of friends have made is stellar. They will do anything to protect each other. You can't ask for a better family. Someone who will take up for you and also tell you when you're wrong.

I cried terribly and then laughed so hard the I cried but Karen ensured that I loved every minute of it. This is truly a sad story with a happy ending so make sure to have tissues and a tub of ice cream ready!!

Kit is turning 25 and is still a virgin, her best friend forever , gives her an afternoon of sex. That night they meet up with friends. the friends know instantly she has lost her virgin status but not who took it. These group of friends are the best. Tragedy strikes that night and the close group of 7 become a tight group of 6. Then learn to live without there friend, but soon Kit realizes that she is left with the ultimate gift. Along the way she meets the guy that was meant for her, can she keep the promise she made to her best friend that night, can she and the others survive a crazy mother looking to blame anyone for her son's death. This book was great.

Oh the emotions that flew through me like there was no tomorrow! This book owned me all the way until the last page. This was my first book by Karen Raines and I loved it. Kit was a woman that had an emotional experience losing the one that she loved. She feels helpless and I cried for her and what she had to be going through. I could not put the book down and was hoping that in the end Kit will finally live life. When she unexpectedly runs into "The One" that brings down her barriers, this story has take a new turn. New hope and hopefully some new love. I truly loved this book and the experience of open emotions it had on me!

This is my first book by Karen Raines and I loved it! This is a well written story with well developed characters. This book is mainly about Kit, but her group of friends make the story that much better. Kit decides she wants to give up her virginity to her best friend Matt. Tragedy hits and everything changes for the group. Karen really knows how to write a great story. Loved brought out so many emotions in me, I laughed, I cried and I even yelled at my kindle NO! The twists and turns made this book a definite page turner and a definite must read.

Loved, Book 1 in the Spiralling Ink series by Karen Raines.
Oh my Goodness! So much happens in the first chapter. I am in literary overload!!! The first page had me laughing hard, but by the end of the chapter, my heart was shattered and lifeless.

It begins with Kit and Matt. They are best friends. Kit decides she is sick of being a virgin, and who better to give this gift to than her very best friend. Then tragedy strikes. Remember this is still the first chapter.

As they struggle to get over this tragedy, Kit had another welcome surprise. While she becomes accustomed to the latest life changing news, she meets Nate. He renders her speechless at first sight. She goes from a sassy, confident woman, to a dribbling, blushing hot mess. She became a bumbling fool, which was certainly not her personality at all. Nate was sexy, super sweet and very patient with her. He was also supportive of her circumstances. In other words, perfect for Kit.

“Did I fulfil the challenge to your satisfaction milady,” he chuckled. I laughed at his expression, biting my lip before I answered. “There’s always room for improvement.”

Things really heat up around the 60% mark and the sexual tension between Kit and Nate reaches fever pitch. There is a drama with an evil witch who wants to take something so precious form Kit, and will stop at nothing to destroy her. But Kit has an amazing support unit, so with that and Nate by her side, she is a force to be reckoned with and will fight to the bitter end to keep her family.

“Don’t try to make light of this babe,” he scolded me. “I want your eyes on my body, I wanna see your desire, your arousal.”

This story, it being my first read from this Karen Raines, has totally blindsided me. What started out funny, quickly became devastating, then became settled again, then it once again started building in intensity and drama, the levels of passion were extreme, and that was 3/4 of the way through. We are not even at the end yet, people!!!

Nate has a never ending supply of charisma and a fantastic sense of humour, which is matched so sweetly by Kit, making them the perfect match in my eyes. Their story is totally absorbing and I cannot get enough. And did I mention how incredibly erotic they are together? Their sexual encounter will have you fanning your heated face and wishing for a Nate of your very own.

“What do you see Kit?”, he whispered in my ear. “I see my future, I said softly.”

These characters owned me from the first word until the last, stealing my breath and my heart. The closeness of Kit and Nate’s group of family and friends warmed my heart. I particularly loved their quirky personalities and the love they have for each other.

Kit and Nate’s story had my attention wrapped up tight and totally focused on them. Even when I wasn’t reading, I was thinking about them. When an author can hold me absolutely enthralled like Karen Raines did, I rejoice that I have found these jewels and look forward to reading more from this truly talented author.

Next up in the Spiralling Ink series is Strength. I am sure the insanely funny and quirky English humour will be ever present in this next book.

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review

After reading and falling hard for Dork To Dirty, I wanted to read more of Karen Raines' books and become more familiar with her writing. Even though Loved is vastly different, Karen's sense of humor shines through in this group of friends that affectionately refer to themselves as the “magnificent seven”. I experienced their tears of grief, laughter at their inappropriate jokes, and of course hot flashes from the panty melting scenes! Karen had me head over heels for these friends who quickly endeared themselves to me with their ability to love one another so fiercely and completely, flaws and all.

Kathryn Wright or Kit as everyone calls her grabbed my heart and tickled my funny bone from the very start! Who doesn't want to read a book that opens with a heroine and her gorgeous best friend who is “fingers deep” and they're both laughing like crazy? Kit and Matty's relationship was so powerful and deep that you can't help but feel the loss right along with her. I adored getting to know Kit and all of her funny quirks and insecurities along with her best buds and all their inside jokes. I will never view super heroes the same again!

Nate O'keeley had me tongued tied and drooling right along with Kit. I couldn't picture anyone more perfect for our grief stricken “Jessica Rabbit” than a new face with a hard body and an incredible heart like Nate. He aims straight for the heart with his honesty, caring, and protective side and for the panties with his dirty talk and sexy moves. You can't help but want to get down and dirty with this mouth watering piece of man shaped chocolate who says and does all the right things that keeps Kit's heart and body gooey in all the right places.

Karen Raines delivers a poignant tale of a group of friends that suffer the loss of a loved one and learn to go on and enrich each others lives with many new memories, laughs, and of course love. I highly recommend for a romance that brings the heat and the feels in equal proportions. Karen is fast becoming one of my favorite authors and I am giddy to begin another journey with these amazing characters in Strength, the second book in the Spiraling Ink series, where I am sure laughter will be had, emotions will boil over, and the sheets will end up sweaty and twisted in the heat of passion!

Karen Raines is a new author that I stumbled upon and I have hit the jackpot. I have stumbled upon a hidden gem. I just want to run to her and hug and say thank you for this beautiful book. The complete satisfaction and delight I felt after reading this book is priceless. Loved was so fulfilling to read. I was addicted and I'm looking for my next Karen Raines fix.

Loved is more than just life after tragedy; it is friendship, family, love, trust, and moving on. I thought this book was going to be about Kit trying to deal with the loss of her best friend, but it sooo much more than that. I inwardly cringed in fear and disgust, I laughed hysterically that my family looked at me crazy, and I cried unashamedly. I even found myself smiling like a giddy fool. Karen Raines writes a story like no other. It amazes me at how Karen can start a book off with such a devastating tragedy and turn it into something so beautiful and hysterically funny. The amount of depth this story went into left me speechless.

The number one thing I loved about this book was Kit's close relationship with her longtime friends Chris, Mark, Neil, Hayley, and her baby sister Claire. They are such a close tight knit group that is the epitome of friendship. They are always there for each other and have one anothers back. Not to mention hilariously funny with their banter and dirty mouths, especially Mark (who I loved). This closeness extended to Kit's father who was always there for his daughters and treated her friends like his own children since he too was close with their parents. I loved the budding relationship with Kit and Nathan(who just so happened to be black). The not seen too often interracial couple was a fantastic surprise and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

My one issue is that I wanted to shake Kit because she displayed such insecurities when it wasn't even necessary. She was a strong willed female character who had not problem mouthing off and punching a guy square in their nose. But that was it.

I highly recommend this book. It is such an amazing romance novel. I loved it so much. The characters in this book are special. I love them so much and have become do dear to me. I can't to get more of their story, especially Mark and Hayley. I can't wait to jump into Claire's story. Karen Raines is definitely an author to keep an eye on.

4.5 stars.

Loved by Karen Raines is the first book in the spiralling ink series. This book covers a range of topics including death, birth, race and body image but every single topic was sensitively and very well written.
The book introduces us to 7 friends, Kit (Kathryn), Matty, Neil, Mark, Hayley, Chris and Claire. Loved is Kit’s story but all of the friends feature heavily in it.
Kit’s world is turned upside down when her best friend Matty is killed. Before he died he told her to get out there and find someone, to promise that the next person she met that made her heart race, to act on it, to go on a date, accept dinner invitations and ultimately fall in love – that was Matty’s challenge to Kit – but how can she do that when half of her soul died the day he did. That is until she meets …….. him.
I don’t think I’ve read a book that elicited so many emotional responses from me in such a short period of time. One minute I was crying and then in the turn of a page I was laughing out loud. The relationship between the friends in this story was brilliant and the banter with each other was hilarious. There were some great laugh out loud moments in it. It just goes to show that friendship bonds can be just as strong as family ones. They were all there for each other following the sudden loss of their friend.
The book is a good mixture of comedy, romance and also serious issues. As mentioned before there are many themes running throughout this book but they were all covered and written about really well. Being able to do this is a credit to the author and her amazing writing style.
I will admit I was a bit worried that the story was over when I was about 20% in – I couldn’t see which direction the book would take but it soon became clear that it was going to be about Kit building a new future without Matty in it and there were many twists and turns in the story that kept my attention until the end.
I really enjoyed this book, it had very likeable characters that you could connect with and an original story line – it was refreshing to read something different. I’m already looking forward to reading the next book in the series ‘Strength’ which will be Claire’s story.
The book does contain explicit sex scenes and graphic language so therefore is intended for mature audiences only.
I give ‘Loved’ by Karen Raines 4.5 stars.

I received this as an ARC for my honest Review***
Kit is a 25 year old, curvy, virgin trying to make it in the world with her 6 best friends. The one person who has been by her side most of her life (besides her sister who is also included in her 6 best friends), is her best friend Matty. He is boisterous, proud and a big ego eccentric who likes to remind others of his impressive package. Being that Matty is her best friend and someone that she not only confides in but also is extremely comfortable with, she asks him for a favor. The favor? To devirginize her. Yep. She wants him to take her virginity to see what she has been missing out on, if there is anything to miss out on. After hearing stories after stories of her friends sexual escapades, she decides that she needs to find out for herself. Matty, being the great friend he is, agrees. Its moment that will forever change Kit’s future. Literally. Throughout the entire story, Matty is present in spirit. Whether it’s his friends who sit around and reminisce about their epic times together. Matty was just Splendid! These tight nit group of friends are more a family and it’s heartwarming to see how much they truly care for each other. The one thing that Kit keeps close to her is the reminder of the promise she made to Matty the night everything changed. She promised him that she would take a risk at love the next time her heart flutters. Timing can sometimes be a pain, but when Kit finally realizes that she needs to keep her promise not only to Matty but also to herself. She needs to take the leap and give herself the happiness she deserves that the happiness that Matty always wanted for her. When the crazies come out, they do in this story. Let’s just say all hands on deck and you will be pleasantly surprised by the outcome and the conclusion. I was surprised that Kit didn’t wallow into her own depression and she had enough strength to get through each day knowing that she was Loved!
