This book was bitter sweet for me. It was a pivotal point/time in this series where it was ending, and I would mourn the lost deeply. I have been a fan of this book series since discovering the author in 2015. I've been emotionally invested with each step of this journey, book by book, series by series. This book wasn't yet published after I had read up to this point, so I put the series down and waited. But this continuing story has a special place in my heart/soul, so I knew without a doubt I would return.
I have re-read the books before this one a few times: and before I decided to finally return to read this one, I once again went back to the first books (The Watchers Trilogy, and re-read enjoying the journey through each book series after that, including The Watcher Chronicles, Caylin's Story, The Alternate Earth Series, that this book is its conclusion), the characters, their lives and existence to this point; and I was drawn in, becoming intricately woven into their reality once again. It was like experiencing everything for the first time, and at the same time, it was like I was coming home.
I LOVE the way this author brings her characters to life and gives each individual character a full existence. She is absolutely brilliant in the way she creates her story as a whole but branches out with personal support and discoveries for every character, and just when you think things are finished, or wonder to yourself "I would love to know what transpired in that situation, or how that character would have progressed": she comes out with a side story about the characters to bring you further into their reality. The AMAZING thing is that even the side stories are intricately woven and detailed to flow effortlessly within the main book series so that you truly feel like you are living and breathing within their realities. I'm just happy that I am BLESSED to have the opportunity and privilege of this author and her artistic creative writings, forever a part of my knowing: and that this story, these characters, their journey continues through a few more books. I won't say until it ends because, for me, at least, them and their journey will never truly end.
