Zoe is a dreamweaver. In fact, she's the one and only dreamweaver. All she needs to do is touch someone else and she can not only see their dreams but she can manipulate them too. Unfortunately for her, this is a very desirable talent and the sinister Department are desperate to use her powers for their own ends. At least with brooding, silver-eyed Dante by her side, she's not going to be alone anymore, even if his over-protective nature is driving her crazy. But Zoe has bigger problems - vast swathes of people are being attacked by horror-filled visions and sleep paralysis ... and it might all be her fault.
Super nice book, just as good as the first one. I am still in shock but ok. And I knew something shady as going one just for the record. This twists are everything. Worth the read. Super excited to start the next one🥹 and to know how this ends.
This suffered pretty badly from book two syndrome. One of the things I adored about book one was how flawed the heroine was --- she was agoraphobic and hadn't been outside her apartment in two years. Without that issue hanging over her head, her personality just felt a little bland. Plus, I wasn't really keen on the direction the love story went in.
Which isn't to say this book isn't still a step above most books of the genre. But the series is no longer one I feel the urge to recommend to everyone I know.
OMG³. It's not often you find an author whose books across several series draw you in to such a degree as Helen Harper's. I've devoured each and every one of them and am desperate for more.
This second instalment in the Dreamweaver series was simply excellent. Fast paced, full of action, romantic leanings, and then a big, fat twist at the end that has left me reeling and swearing a blue streak that book three isn't out already.
Come on, Helen! You said 2016. You promised! (Well, you didn't promise, but I'm still holding you to it - 3 months to go until you break my heart).
I have absolutely no compunction telling everyone and anyone how wonderful this author is. READ HER BOOKS. You won't be disappointed.
Excellent fantasy series with a protagonist you can really get into.
Loved the alternative reality of dreamland and the concept of where dreams come from and the part that plays in our lives. The heroine is strong and likable. Her flaws making her a very full character.
This was a fun book with a twist that I somewhat hoped for but didn’t think the author would do. I like learning more about the complex dream world and Zoe is an interesting protagonist who comes across as very realistic
Some of the reviews say that this book really suffers from second instalment disappointment, but I think this is a strong follow up to the first. Can’t wait to read the final book!
"Night Terrors" is the second book in Helen Harper's "Dreamweaver" series. With the results at the end of the last novel under her belt, Zoe has to deal with the consequences of her actions. For the past few weeks she's been attempting to get a handle on her Dreamweaver abilities, but it hasn't been good enough. Dante checks in with her whenever he can catch up with her along with monitoring her progress. This honeymoon period, comes to a end with the appearance of the Department. This sinister organization has no problem flexing it's muscles while using brute force to get what they want. Meanwhile, Zoe notices that something is not quite right in the dreams she has entered. A dark force is causing sleep paralysis for non travelers. It's up to Zoe to juggle how to handle the Department, while figuring out what's happening to everyone else. Overall, I enjoyed reading this novel. It added extra depth to each of the main characters while breaking several molds.
This unique story continues to pull the reader in as things get a lot more exciting for Zoe in book two. As with book one, this book is also a bit of a mind bender, which I like. Recap: characters are great, story is unique AND interesting, and by the time you reach the end of book two, you should be feeling Zoe's strength, determination, angst, pain, frustration, and more. One more thing: I don't know for certain how things are going to end. I love that. I love not knowing. And now I need to jump into book three and find out how this story ends.
This book was everything I wanted to see after I was finished with the first one. It's not something brilliant or extremely deep but it's a good casual reading and it lives up to its full potential. The twists might be expected and seen from book 1 but they're entertaining enough to keep me wanting more. Overall, this series is something that won't offend but won't blow away and that's absolutely okay because what it wants to do, it does really really well.
Things get even more serious in this second installment as the organization that seemed to be responsible for all the corruption exposes itself as more sinister and powerful than anyone could have imagined. Zoe has to rely on a small group of people to help her uncover the truth behind the lies and she comes to realize exactly who she can trust in both of her worlds.
I am not continuing with this series. First, it was just ok and wasn’t as interesting as the first book. So I’m done. The way it ended doesn’t make me want to find out what happens next. I’m actually annoyed that I wasted time on this book.
this book recently came out in audible with the other two in the series. I have read all 3 before, in fact they were the first books by Helen Harper that I read and LOVED them. The world is so believeable and so many of us have probablly wondered where we go at night. These are built so fine I know I will listen to them over and over.......
I'm really really loving this series. This one was pretty painful at the end, so I'm certain to jump straight into the third and final of the series. I know I can't go wrong with a Helen Harper series!
Zoe the main character is very brave to conquer her fears. Not everyone have the strong personality or mind to do it. I enjoy reading the two books in these series. I recommend them
An exciting but interesting story centered around sleep myths. I enjoyed the characters and storyline, it was compelling without being slow or boring.I highly recommend this book.
Night Terrors is the second book of the Dreamweaver Series and it picks up a few weeks after the first book, Night Shade, left off. The point-of-view character, Zoe, is the only Dreamweaver in existence. Because of this, there are many people in the world who wish to use her for that power. Unfortunately, this means Zoe must constantly reevaluate who she should trust and who she shouldn’t. Also, Zoe’s actions at the end of Night Shade have left many others wondering if they can trust her.
The book spends some time in Scotland and Manchester, but the majority of the story takes place in the Dreamlands. The Department has finally arrived in her zone and Zoe quickly realized they are worse than the Mayor ever was. As a result of the events in Night Shade, Ashley has been abducted in the waking world and is somehow being kept from entering the Dreamlands. To make matters worse, there is a dark and mysterious power slowly infecting the Bubble, the place where the doors into people’s subconscious are held.
The story has a good flow and kept me wondering what would happen next. I had trouble putting it down and ended up finishing it in only a few hours. Zoe still seems a bit naive to me given what she’s been through so far, but it lends nicely to the plot twists in the story. I can’t wait for the next book of the series, Night Light, to be released so I can find out what happens next!

What a great follow up to the first book! Zoe is trying to figure out her powers as a Dreamweaver while something sinister is happening to people in their sleep. She and Dante get closer but are there secrets he is keeping from her? And what is causing scores of people to suffer sleep paralysis and horrible nightmares? Does it have anything to do with a blue haired boy? Read to find out and enjoy the surprise ending!
This book was good. Spoiler alert! The relationship between Zoe and Dante went to the next level and then splat! He a jerk (obviously!) Why??? I was beginning to like him. I like the fact that Zoe Ninja is becoming stronger in every aspect. What will book 3 bring to the party, I wonder?
I started this book because I liked another series by her. I didn't think, once I read the plot, that I would like it. I quickly learned that this author can ensnare you with characters you want to meet, and plot twits that absorb you!
I liked the first book of this series better. Night terrors was okay, the story with the Sandman was kind of silly, but I liked how the main character was gaining in power and I really, really liked Dante. Until the end of the book. No!!! I hope he redeems himself in book 3.
