I know this book is gunna be amazing!! I loved ALL of h.m. Wards books even the mini series!! It makes us want more!! I can't wait for the ferro brother movies! Please vote we only need 5,500 more votes!!!:D

I am struggling to find the words! Holly's writing in this fantastic story comes straight from the very depths of her heart. It consumes you! It wraps a hold and it doesn't let go !
Trystan and Mari's love is an organic love, passionate and undeniable.
A lot of water has gone under the bridge since Trystan and Mari, were last together. Time has moved on and their lives have gone in different directions. The only thing still connecting them are their friends Katie and Seth.
One devastating day later and their paths cross again. They have gone through so much before. Can they help each other through the next wave of the life experiences about to be thrown at them? Will their newfound friendship survive as old feelings resurface?
I can only say this is a must read !

2.5 stars -- I'm a fast reader normally. But rereading this series (which I probably gave higher stars than they deserved, but maybe b/c I thought something good would happen at the end) and reading this book has proved to me that I'm only a fast reader when the story is compelling. I read it because I needed to know how Trystan and Mari's story ended up, but I was disappointed. Majorly disappointed. There wasn't much of a Trystan and Mari love story at all. Mari is with someone else. For like 80% of the book. So if you were hoping for all the grown up romance, you're probably going to be disappointed in that aspect.
I've discovered that I don't think Ms. Ward's writing style is for me. I don't have the patience. This is basically like a soap opera in book form. And that's just not for me. No disrespect to people who like that, there are lots of readers who do! I just don't happen to be one of them, so I don't think I'm going to invest in anymore books by this author. We're just not a match.
Things that didn't work for me (spoiler free): The lack of romance. Supposedly there is a connection between them, but I felt it more in the previous series. So on that note, if you do want to read this book, I HIGHLY recommend you read the accompanying Secret Life of Trystan Scott novella serial series to get the most out of it, otherwise you'll be feeling lacking.
Things that didn't work for me that are SPOILERS, so don't read this paragraph unless you've read the book or don't plan on reading the book: 1) The paranormal aspect. I mean, seriously? They can feel each other's feelings through touch? No. Either write a paranormal or write a contemporary...I like both, but don't add a touch just because you can't write the appropriate chemistry between them. 2) Seth. I was mad when he died. And for god's sake, if you're going to have that be a mistake, then put some effort into it and make it believable, don't just throw it in at the end so it's all one big happy ending. 3) I wasn't super keen on all the Derrick being Trystan's brother thing, but I mostly wasn't happy with the half-brother turning out not to be an abusive jerk too when all signs pointed in that direction. Very inconsistent with what we learn of his character earlier on. 4) Derrick throws her engagement ring at her, and she still says yes? Um, what? 5) She watches Derrick abuse his mother, and doesn't tell him off? And she's still going to marry him. Great backbone. You need him to hit his mother before it's too far? *sigh* 6) Where's the resolution with her father? He was an abusive asshole who seems to still be an abusive asshole, but then it's all "I love you Daddy" at the end? Great character and relationship development. 7) Trystan's father kidnaps him, after almost killing him, and the mother really wouldn't have called the cops? And since he apparently never changed his name, she really couldn't find him all that time? What about when he became famous?
Basically the problem is lack of believability. It was a lot of sensationalism and shock value thrown in a pot without background and rationalization. Heck, even the blurb is a bit misleading. Strangely I didn't have as much problem with Trystan's issue that had him get in the accident. I saw a lot of other reviewers were bothered by it, but it would have been ok without everything else heaped on top of it.
I just don't have the patience for this kind of story if you're not going to give me a good dose of romance to keep me happy. OK, I'm tired, and this is sounding ranty, so that's it for me. Just not my bag, baby.... Glad I got it on sale at least.

Be still my heart. I have come to the conclusion that I really do have a thing for rock stars. I mean poor Trystan! Everything that he has gone through in his life that we already know and then everything that happens. Mari! Mari girl Oh My Gosh!!! You know I love these books because they leave you so emotionally raw at so many different points in the story. H.M. Wards books are like an emotional roller coaster from hell, not that that's a bad thing at all. I love all the ups and downs and in betweens. H.M. Ward has a way of making the reader feel completely enamored with all of her characters, she even makes you love to hate the bad guys!!! This a a story about true love and first love never dying and making it through all odds. An incredible book that everyone must read.

Well, I'm upset. I waited a long time for this book to come out and I am disappointed with the whole thing. It was...not right. Bits and pieces were good, great even, but it didn't last and was all disjointed. Too many parts crammed together.

I'm such a hot mess right now.. I have been waiting for the ending of this story ever since I read the first in the series. I mean come on people a yummy, kind and sexy rock star with a beautiful heart! What more could a girl ask for? I could not have imagined a better ending to Trystan & Mari's story than what I read in Broken Promises. It takes off with a scary beginning that brings Trystan and Mary back together again. I was hooked from the first word! Out of all characters H.M. Ward writes about, Trystan has been my favorite. To me he's like that hot boy next door who everyone has a crush on, but he's unattainable. You dream about him, the guy nobody forgot. He had a rotten childhood and was deceived his whole life. Music was his escape and he poured all his hidden emotions into it. Mari has had the hots for Trystan since high school where they finally realized their feelings for each other. Love is found, than lost. For years these two lost contact, but now they find each other again in a hospital er. I felt so many emotions reading this book. Sadness, hope, love, rage...Endless feels (Kleenex please)Perfect ending to a perfect series. I would highly recommend reading this whole series, especially to all rocker babes ;) Thanks Holly Ward, The queen of rock!

One of the most emotionally charged novels I have read all year.
Trystan had nothing growing up. Now that he is a mega rock star, he has it all! Or does he?
Mari's life is on track, she is one of the best doctors in her hospital, and she is in love. Or is she?
When Trystan comes crashing back into Mari's life after almost 10 years will they be able to put the broken promises of the past behind them, or are some damages just beyond repair?
By far HM Ward's best novel to date. Broken Promises is a follow up to The Secret Life of Trystan Scott series. The characters not only in this novel, but the entire series, are completely relatable they have real issues, hope and heartbreaks. Trystan, Mari, Katie, and Seth could be people you know. I felt every emotion right along with the characters. I laughed when they laughed, cried when they cried and hoped for the same things as them! It was definitely one of those novels you can't put down. The plot was not predictable, there were twists and turns everywhere which made you want to turn the pages faster. This will definitely be one of those novels that you will put on your reread list! I know it’s on the top of mine!

This has to be H.M. Ward's best work yet!!! Trystan has been a fighter from the beginning. No matter what life threw at him, he always kept a smile on his face. The rest of his story is no different! I have always had a soft spot for Trystan and this book just confirms that he is one of H.M. Ward's most lovable characters. I loved this story from the first to the last word! You will feel every emotion possible while reading this- you will laugh, you will definitely cry and you will probably even get angry! Be ready for the emotional roller coaster that will definitely be worth every emotion thrown at you!

I recieved this ARC for an honest review.
This is one of H.M. Wards best written books! It starts off years later and even though it's been a while from the last book, it does go back to fill you in. This one is a big roller coaster of emotions. You will cry, laugh and cry some more.
It is very well written with some twist and turns you will not be expecting.
I will miss Trystan & Mari's story and sad to see this series end.

This was not what I was hoping for. After waiting for two years I expected something great. This was just mediocre. It was very predictable and boring at times. I frequently read books in a day or two, but this one got stretched out to a week because it just didn't keep my interest. I loved "The Secret Life " but this was just okay.

Why not 5 stars? Because... She beat a dead dog! Enough already!
Why did Trystan have to go blind? Really? and I could see a mile away, but hoping I was wrong that Derrick was going to be Trystan's brother, or some part of his family.
The kidnapping when he was a baby could have been more, much more....... How did this not come out after he became famous? Cops nor the doing their job? But it's not real life, SECOND! Why did his mom wait all those years? If she would have approached him when "he" became famous it wouldn't have looked like she wanted his money.... It would have been a mom finally finding her son. It would had made her more sincere. The way it is just looked like she didn't care. She got away & had a nice life with another family. Shame on her!
Plus... I'd be pissed that she never contacted me then. Especially since she had know what an asshat her ex - his father was. (She had to known he was in prison for beating his, right.)
Did anyone notice that Derrick was like his father? How did Mari not pick up on what a jerk he was when he threw her ring at her and stormed out! Red Flags, HELLO!
Hadn't Trystan been dating what's her name in "the arrangement?" or was that on the DL?

She didn't just kill a dead dog with "the arrangement" and she just did it too Trystan's book too, but she ran over it, put it in reverse & backed over it & then shot it a few more times for good measure.
To me this book killed the Trystan story just too much over the top.
I don't see myself buying anymore of her books...

I am a huge fan of HM Ward and let me tell you this is my favorite book she has written so far. I loved all the Trystan Scott books and was ecstatic to get to read Broken Promises.
Broken Promises surprised me on so many levels. HM Ward takes this story and brings so much to it. Mari has hardened her heart, but ultimately it beats for Trystan even if she doesn't want to admit it. This book shows that true love and friendship will never truly die.
Trystan was everything I wanted and more. When you see all that is revealed, you will cry your eyes out. More than one secret is revealed which will break your heart, but HM Ward will put you back together again! Be ready to laugh, break, cry and rejoice.

I fell for Trystan a long time ago, so waiting for this book had my expectations very, very high! I loved the book, but there were some things that annoyed me. Mari was a little too forgiving for me.....I expected her to explode and rip Trystan a new one! But she kinda just went with the flow and seemed to step back in time as if nothing happened and they hadn't been separated for 10 years! WTH?!?!
But besides that, it was great, and my heart broke for Trystan because what he was going through sucked big time. I would definitely love a followup to this one to see where things go, and if I know H.M. Ward, she won't disappoint us!

I have been waiting for this novel for about 2yrs. I don't wait for many books. I'd usually forget about them, lose interest. But this.........I can't say how many times I kept coming back to see if there was any news on release day........until FINALLY it came.
If you haven't followed Mari and Trystan, I suggest you do by reading The Secret Life of Trystan Scott: The Complete Collection Volumes 1-5 by H.M. Ward. And also read The Proposition series, parts of The Arrangement series by the same author, to see what they'd been up to after Secret Life. Now that that's out of the way.......
After 9 years apart, both of them moving on with their lives physically (but if they were honest with themselves, not emotionally), Trystan and Mari reunite under almost tragic circumstances. She lost him once and almost lost him again, for good. Trystan is crashing and burning; the life in front of the limelight is not how he wanted it to be. He needs saving and only Mari can do it. They both need to move on with their lives, but are finding it hard to let go. Can Mari walk away, knowing Trystan needs her? Can Trystan let her go to find love with someone he KNOWS is wrong for her?
True love never dies, nor does it fade away, and both Trystan and Mari are about to find that out.
After waiting so long for this conclusion to Trystan and Mari's story, I was both happy with the story and a little disappointed. I loved that the author didn't immediately throw them together and that there were some things for them to sort through. Just like the earlier books, she put obstacles in their way that drew them closer together as friends, reigniting the bond that they'd had all those years ago. So, when it came time for love, it was an easy transition. I always loved how great their friendship was and it always made me root for them. Gah, and that twist, though!!! Good Lord! My mouth fell on that one! I had an inkling, the further I went into the story, but when the bomb was finally dropped like.....
I was blown away!
What I didn't like was the secret Trystan was keeping, as if he hadn't been through enough! Mayne it's because I had grown so attached to these two, I just didn't want any more complications. I just thought it came out of left field and no reader was prepared for that. I sure as hell wasn't!
I absolutely HATED Mari's fiancé, too, and I'm so glad he messed up the way he did! But seriously, Mari couldn't see that??! EVERYONE and their dog saw what kind of person he was! Jesus, what a douchebag!
A good story overall that had me smiling. I wanted much more from the story seeing as it was their epic conclusion, but at least I got SOMETHING. I wanted it more intense, wanted much more push and pull, but what I got was sweet enough to tide me over. I would've loved a Katie and Seth story, too, but I won't be greedy. :)
If you haven't followed Mari and Trystan, I suggest you do by reading The Secret Life of Trystan Scott: The Complete Collection Volumes 1-5 by H.M. Ward. And also read The Proposition series, parts of The Arrangement series by the same author, to see what they'd been up to after Secret Life. Now that that's out of the way.......
After 9 years apart, both of them moving on with their lives physically (but if they were honest with themselves, not emotionally), Trystan and Mari reunite under almost tragic circumstances. She lost him once and almost lost him again, for good. Trystan is crashing and burning; the life in front of the limelight is not how he wanted it to be. He needs saving and only Mari can do it. They both need to move on with their lives, but are finding it hard to let go. Can Mari walk away, knowing Trystan needs her? Can Trystan let her go to find love with someone he KNOWS is wrong for her?
True love never dies, nor does it fade away, and both Trystan and Mari are about to find that out.
After waiting so long for this conclusion to Trystan and Mari's story, I was both happy with the story and a little disappointed. I loved that the author didn't immediately throw them together and that there were some things for them to sort through. Just like the earlier books, she put obstacles in their way that drew them closer together as friends, reigniting the bond that they'd had all those years ago. So, when it came time for love, it was an easy transition. I always loved how great their friendship was and it always made me root for them. Gah, and that twist, though!!! Good Lord! My mouth fell on that one! I had an inkling, the further I went into the story, but when the bomb was finally dropped like.....

I have been waiting for the final installment of Trystan’s story since I finished Revealed. Trystan has been one of my favorite boys H.M. Ward ever created. I have loved Trystan and Mari since first pages of Collide. Even after waiting for what felt like forever for Broken Promises, H.M. Ward didn’t disappoint with providing a beautifully tragic and wonderful story.
A little side note, I read this book on my birthday as a birthday present to myself. Honestly Broken Promises was so perfect I didn’t put it down to eat. Honestly Broken Promises was one of the best birthday presents ever. H.M. Wards have been with my through all the good, bad, and in between times so I couldn’t be happier with how this ended or a better book to end the year with.
Mari and Kate receive tragic news and then Mari gets called in on a tragic accident only to find out it’s Trystan. Now Trystan and Mari are thrown together again with Mari helping Trystan and Trystan helping Mari.
I don’t want to write too much but I will say Trystan gets some more tragedy in his life, but he also gets a lot of happy that we all know he deserves. I was happy that Mrs. Ward kept the feel of Broken Promises the same as she did in the original series. After reading all of The Arrangement series with Trystan staring a role in the stories I thought it would have a more erotic feeling, but what I got was totally different. Trystan and Mari’s story still had the innocent feelings, but more grown up.
I loved this story and couldn’t have loved it more if I tried. Best birthday read ever.

There is not enough space to express my experience with this book! Trystan is the classic hot rocker boy but with such tragedy in his life! I have wished and hoped for he and Mari to find each other again for so long! The love they had has got to be in its purest form. It was so sincere and real it was painful to watch at times. BUT WHAT HAPPENED???? We've been worried and wondering this and here it is in all its 400+pages of glory! HM Ward must be psychic. She was feeling all the Trystan angst from her readers and delivered a beautifully written love story with its bittersweet ending. Sometimes it is so hard to write these reviews without literally puking all your emotions and spoilers on the page. This novel will rock you to your core. There will be times you will laugh, cry, threaten death to all characters, and yell at them. It is so well written....it's like the author was in my mind messing around when she wrote it! Knew all the buttons to push and strings to pull! Absolutely wonderful! The character development is magnificent. LOOKOUT! Unexpected (or expected if you read many HM Ward books) twist dead ahead!!!!

OMG, How excited was I to learn that H.M. Ward was releasing a new Trystan Scott novel and it was to be a full length novel....yay!!!
As a fan of the serial I was eager to delve into Mari and Trystans lives almost ten years later.
Holly has really done justice to Mari and Trystan, she has pulled the two together with a story full of intrigue, tragedy and new issues for them to face both together and individually. The book reads at a good pace and and as always I embrace Holly's writing style as it just sucks you in and you feel like you are living with the characters as one of them.
This book was the type of book that you hate to leave, you steal moments from your day to get back into their world as it not like ten years have passed for the two they fit back together in an easy grace that is just wonderful.
The novel puts to bed any of the unease and questions that may have arisen during the arrangement series to the whys and wherefore Of Trystan and Mari's disconnection and I was happy with the outcome of the story.
This is most definitely one for the H.M.Ward fans.

After reading The Secret Life of Trystan Scott; Collide, Backdraft, and Riptide. My thoughts of Trystan was he was a hot musician who had a hell of a childhood. Thinking, who hasn't had some sort of $hit happen to them that makes them who are they today, right? After reading Broken Promises, you find out more about the man instead of the myth. In all honesty, his broken promise wasn't all that atrocious if he only took the time to tell her why he wasn't there for her when he promised he would. It's not like he promised he would be there for her during surgery and not show. Or that he loved her and only her, and he cheated.
Broken Promises will keep you on edge with the twists and turns that have become H.M. Ward's signature style. Trystan Scott becomes a living, loving, legend.

November 25, 2015It's been emotional! I loved Trystan from the first time I read about him in the arrangement enough to read the 5 books of the secret life. I couldn't wait to see how Holly would bring Mari and his story to an end. I'm usually quite good at figuring these out but this book shocked me a little. It was very sad - enough to make me wish he had more of a break but it was also very sweet loving and as always addictive. I love Katie - she was every bit as amusing as she was in the older books. It's nice to see things wrapped up and I'm a sucker for love story

Wow, Ms. Ward has topped herself. I have loved everything she has written but this has got to be my favorite yet. This book took me on an emotional roller coaster. I cried, I laughed, I got angry and I fell in love in with Trystan all over again. I loved all of it. This book hooked me from the start and kept me sucked in for all 400 and some pages. I loved Mari and Trystan's story so I was so happy to find out what happened to them. I loved that Jon and his crazy antics were in this book too. I'm so happy that I was one of the lucky ones to receive and ARC for a fair and honest review.

Absolutely amazing. I can't say enough about this book. I loved Tristan prior to this book, but now I have no word to describe how amazing, awesome unbelievably sexy Tristan is. I love how we get to understand how Mari and Tristan pulled away from one another.
I loved how Tristan puts his feeling for Mari aside so she can be happy with her fiancé.
This book made me get choked up a few times and I laughed Esp when chicks named Holly are crazy

Yes we all waited a long time for Trystans final book and Holly did not disappoint in this final installment. Great storyline and I loved that we find out about what happens to Mari, Katie, Seth,and Tucker. Definitely a must real for us Trystan Scott fans. Nothing is missed from the past and present, no stone unturned.

DNF at 70%. I liked the Trystan Scott series but this sequel just didn't do it for me. It felt like a kid wrote it... The characters are almost in their 30's yet seem to act/think a little immature. The story overall was just too weird. A waste of time waiting for this book to be released.

I was a little surprised and saddened at the turn of events with Trystan ' s sight. I want to believe that he would of came back to her either way. I'm happy with the way their story ended the two of them belong together.
