The 3 stars is because I am not sure I like the story line. I like the way Cali MacKay writes, just not sure about this story. This is a personal issue with not liking the story line. Will wait til part 2 comes out.

The fragile Phoebe Nicholls. Phoebe is running away from an abusive ex , who's determined to see her dead and he very nearly gets his wish. 11 chapter book with the style of intro on book 1, development on book 2, drama on book 3, revelations and happy ending on book 4, or however many books necessary to tell the story.
It's super fast. The "development" is super fast. And their hearts falls even faster than the mystery at hand.
Let me give you the sum: Phoebe was taken ashore after surviving an attack from her ex-boyfriend and it's now under the care of two men: twins. She isn't aware that she's dealing with two men, and her attraction to both (they may look the same, but their personalities are not) might lead to more than she should be ready for. But obviously the book will end and she's none the wiser.

I thought Forbidden: Part 1 by Cali MacKay was a good and quick read. The book starts with Phoebe trying to escape imminent death at the hands of her ex boyfriend. Hawke is haunted by his past and is a recluse. Hawke finds Phoebe washed up on the shore of the private island he lives on. There are secrets that could destroy how close Phoebe and Hawke become. Hawke has a twin brother, Archer, but they share a persona, Jackson. Jackson is the man that Phoebe knows. I can't wait to find out what else happens in this series.

really good, look forward to part 2. I guess there will be a few twists and turns along the way, I wish this was 1 full length book so you can get stuck in and keep reading. almost wish id waited to read when all parts are out, I hate leaving a story just a bit in and would rather read the whole thing. it is a good story though so its worth getting and maybe waiting before you read it, so you can read right through. I love Cali's stories and the romance

Very good
Excellent start to the series both Asher and Hawke are red hot hunks the fact that they are twins adds to the intrigue both are fascinated with the woman found on their isolated beach. This episode is fairly short but can't wait for the next.

The sexy brothers
Even though Phoebe did not know there were twins who gave her such pleasure, she thoroughly enjoyed being with Jackson. I am looking forward to the rest of the series. I am definitely jealous of Phoebe thus far.

After almost being killed, a woman washes up on an island where two twins live. They pretend to be the same person, even to her. She's falling for both of them and gets offered a ton of money to let one of them paint her . . . did not find this worth continuing.
