Two weeks is all they have... is it enough?
High-end Escort Audrey Reynolds opened herself up to real feelings for James Preston, the billionaire who hired her. And then he turned on her. Now she's back on assignment and guarding her heart.
All Audrey wants is to finish the assignment; she needs to make enough money to keep her brother safe. That's what she keeps telling herself, anyway.
James is determined to earn back Audrey's trust. When Audrey's mother threatens to expose that her daughter is a prostitute to his family and the press, James takes matters into his own hands. Unfortunately, his own mother is much more difficult to manage. Carefully guarding her family fortune, James's mother is beginning to see Audrey as a real threat to the Preston name.
And she doesn't even know the half of it.
Note: PART 2 of a 3-part series. This book is novella length (30,000 words) and ends in a wicked cliffhanger. Part 3 is available now!
USA Today and Amazon Top-10 Bestselling Author Leigh James is currently sitting on a white-sand beach, watching the sunset, dreaming up her next billionaire. Get ready, he's going to be a HOT one!
Just kidding! Leigh is actually freezing her butt off in Maine, USA, where she lives with her awesome husband, their great kids, and her BFF Choco the chocolate lab. But she promises that billionaire is REALLY going to be something!
Her books have been translated into German, French, Italian, and Portuguese. Leigh also writes Young Adult Paranormal Romance as Leigh Walker. Her smash-hit series Vampire Royals was previously optioned by Netflix.
Received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Ms. Leigh James!
I find this better than the previous one. The chemistry between the characters are more intense and the drama is more entertaining. I started to like Audrey's character. She maybe an escort, but this lady is pure at heart. I admire her selflessness but I want happiness for her. I don't want her to be an escort anymore because she's way beyond that. I feel sorry for her she had to endure that kind of situation. Her alcoholic mother is a pain in the ass. As for James Preston, just the same but a little kinder.
Part two continues just as the first one left off. James making an asshole move that causes him to have to grovel just a bit in order to get Audrey to stay on with him. But things are getting a little more interesting on the home front. James’ mother is making her intentions quite clear as to how she feels about his fling, leaving Audrey even more confused about her feelings.
As we get back onto this roller coaster ride, we start to get the pieces to both their pasts, events that have shaped them and explain quite a bit about their present day situations. And although Audrey seemed ready to go all in, she is slowly being knocked down inch by inch as the mother from hell decides to make her play.
I am still enjoying the banter between these two and although James isn’t as aloof around his family as he was at the start – that is easily made up for with the chemistry between these two. They are going fast into insta-love territory but I really don’t have any hang-ups about that in books. Hell, they only have handful of pages to fall in love, so they better get a move on it!
And although book one had a cliffhanger, I have to say book two I think had much more of one. I had to again, instantly start book three before I could put this series down for the night. There seems to be some twists heading our way and I’m excited to see just what obstacle these two are going to have to face next.
Holy crap I loved this I can't even make words Ahh I quit
Edit review: Lets be honest when my initial review is that… its 5 star loved it book! And the best part is the author ARCd them!!! I feel so special eeekkk I try to avoid serials because I want it all at once!! And I got it!! Eek!!! This story is what comes after You’re fired! There is so much character growth shown in this portion. And the best part—WE ALL LOVE THE SUPPORTING CAST/// and HATE them with a passion! Winners never quit and quitters never win Our two main characters have enough emotional trauma to build an island (even though im sure James already has a few) but they are both trying to overcome it. They have accepted they cant change their mothers but they deserve happiness. I didn’t want this, but I needed it. Knowing the difference was what being an adult was all about. That’s why being an adult sucked so hard The only way Audrey can give herself to James is to try to pretend the feelings that are there are invisible Youre the cowboy baby.. im the bed. Audrey tells James she cant get used to opulence because shes the cowboy constantly on the move never getting comfortable and finding the happiness while he is the bed soft and welcoming and rich. Hope is a four letter word.. but I pulled Audrey close to me anyways Dude put your emotional boner away. Its embarrassing
Can a high society billionaire ever really have feelings for a whore from the wrong side of the social tracks? Maybe…maybe not but the last thing we hear is Audrey: I quit
James realizes he has to have Audrey for the rest of hs trip and know has added another hundred grand to his bill willingly to have Audrey now in his bed. The drama and threats still continue from James mother and the situation now that it has changed presents more of a challenge t Audrey to keep her heartier getting involved . Fast paced , engrossing read that once again hooks you into this story between James and Audrey , with intresting supporting Charachter s and once again a whopper of a cliffy! But never fear ;"Escorting the Bachelor #3 " is already available!
Gah! After that ending I was so excited to get stuck into this book...and Im so happy it was as good as the first one. It had everything I wanted....drama, sex and lots of feelings. I always judge a good book by one that keeps me reading when I should be doing other things, and this was one of those books! I just HAD to know what was happening next. Great book, well written with characters that you will love....and some you will hate!!! Now I just need the next!
This series has taken me by surprise! And again there's a clever cliffhanger twist at the end of this one!
I love how (considering the story is that of a billionaire and hooker) the author's kept it real. All of the emotions are right and it's well written - classic Pretty Woman type read but thankfully without all the copycat movie quotes!
Agh! I am so not liking their mothers. They are both determined to have what they want. James and Audrey are so good together. But Audrey doesn't want to hurt James and is having second thoughts about their business arrangement. Another cliffhanger so on to book #3. I'm loving the story so far.
This is the best series ive read in along time just get t ing better each book can't wait to find out what happens between Aubrey and Jamesyou need to read this series you will really enjoy it. Margie
I am having heart palpitations with these endings! I am finishing this series absofuckinglutely RIGHT NOW! Screw work, eating, bathing...I need no excuse. This story has got me by the lady balls and I'm not stopping until I'm good and satisfied!!...That's what she said ;)
This is the first time I read a book by this author, Leigh James. By chance, I was reading the description of the book, and I decided to buy it. Really great series! The second book of The Escort Collection series continues with the story of Audrey and James, which delves deeper into their relationship. Audrey finds that her feelings for James have changed. For a 22 year old, Audrey has a lot of responsibilities—taking care of her brother and her mother. Audrey is really poor, but she uses all of the money she makes during her escort assignments taking care of her family. Her mother is a repulsive alcoholic, cigarette smoking, and money hungry individual. Her mother threatens Audrey that she will expose her to the press that she is an escort or prostitute attending high society events with James Preston if she does not give her more money. James’ mother, Mrs. Preston, does not like Audrey, and she only cares about her family name and societal friends. Mrs. Preston notices that James really likes Audrey and vice versa. Now, Audrey is a threat to her family name, and she has to do something about it. I cannot wait to read book 3 of this continuing saga.
This book picked up right where the first one left off.
James realizes he may have a heart after all and he freaks out, firing Audrey. She runs back to her crappy apartment trying to figure out how she'll keep her brother in his home without a job!
It doesn't take James long to realize he still needs Audrey for the rest of his two week contract, so he's dragging her back to his apartment in her pj's.
Audrey is terrified, but determined to finish the job so she can set her brother up for a long while. She was already dealing with James' uptight mother, and she didn't count on her crazy mother getting involved as well.
The heat picks up in this book, and Audrey and James can't keep their hands off each other.
Another crazy cliff hanger ends the book and you find yourself needing to know what happens.
Book two is another good installment in the "Escorting the Billionaire" series. Audrey is reeling after what happened with James. No. I won't tell you what! However, the issue is quickly resolved and they continue their ruse of being a couple in order to placate James' snooty pedigree bigoted family.
Additionally, we learn more about Audrey's special needs brother as well as her alcoholic mother. Of course, James' mother and father won't be winning any awards anytime soon. His mother is especially one real piece of nasty work and I would have loved to be written into this story as a character so that I could have the opportunity to bitch slap her.
James' bff, Cole, has contacted the escort agency and is now dating Jenny. This is a dangerous game the characters are playing and it's bound to come to a head!
This is the second book in the Escorting the Billionaire series. The first book ended with a cliffy, poor James finally had sex with Audrey & he got scared & fired her. After the most intense sexual experience either of them has ever had James panics & Audrey gets pissed off. James realizes his mistake almost immediately & calls Audrey's boss saying he wants her to come back & that he will triple their pay rate. I think it was so selfless & thoughtful what Audrey was willing to do to make sure her brother was well taken care of. I thought James was going to be a d..kh..d but he turned out be such a sweetheart. I loved the way he protected her especially against his shrew of a Mother & her no good money hungry one.
This book was a lot like "Pretty Woman" meets "50 Shades of Gray." I loved James and Audrey, and thoroughly loved hating their mothers. I also loved the fact that although James was a billionaire there wasn't a lot of over the top rich things thrown in such as gold and diamond beer mugs. Do they even exist?
Anyway, a great read. I think you'll enjoy it. But please, I beg of you, if you don't like this new Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, etc type of publishing, say something. Maybe the publishers will listen. We adore our books and will continue buying them, but maybe just this once they could listen to our wishes.
I loved reading Escorting The Billionaire #2 (The Escort Collection), all about James Preston a gorgeous billionaire & Audrey his paid escort, who is pretending to be his girlfriend and getting paid to do it! The author wrote an incredible story and the characters make the story come to life! In book one we meet Audrey, in book two we meet Audrey's drunk mother and her special needs brother. In this book James is extremely generous and tries to get her mother off her back by throwing lots of money at her, but it only makes her want more! Read book two and fall more in love with James & Audrey! I can't wait to read book three.
Audrey and James are disastrous for each other, yet somehow it works for them. But boy do they like to torture one another emotionally.
I really hate both of their mothers. They are on both ends of the craptasitic way mothers can be to their children, one being a rich gazillionaire and the other being a low-life alcoholic.
And again...with that ending. So glad these novels were $0.99 a piece. Although I probably would have spent whatever to find out what happened after these terrible cliffhanging endings.
What's so great about this series is that it's not as trashy as one would think.
James has fired Audrey which in turn gets her fired from the agency, but with some help from Elena and more thought by James -- who's an idiot -- he agrees to take her back but now sex is part of the deal.
Okay fine. Then it gets messy as Elena's mother comes back into the picture and she's the trashy mother from hell. Stealing from her special needs son and attempting to blackmail her daughter and James. Nice.
And then there's mother of the year, Celia, who is planning something... hmm.
Review to come: I just wanted to get my numbers for the year updated but fighting the flu and not in my right mind. Lol, anyway review to come!
This is a review for parts 1-3. I enjoyed them a great deal. The story parts were hot and steamy but had a great storyline. I just did not love part 3. It seemed so random that all of the sudden we have the word murder being thrown around. I thought that part was kind of not necessary I could have lived without it other than that a pretty good serial.
I totally adored this story; it was like candy - sweet and satisfying. I tore through all three parts of this novel and just loved it. I loved the slow-building relationship between Audrey and James, and I loved the rest of the characters.
I definitely want to read more from Leigh James in the future! I loved the build of the plot in Escorting the Billionaire, and I loved the character development!
James and Audrey need each other and not just for the escorting service Audrey provides or the money James can provide. They are like rich chocolate and peanut butter... They're good together... but of course there's always drama. Family!!! Both of their mothers are a piece of work. I wanted to reach in the story and B!+c# slap both of them. (that was a line in the story). Looking forward to see if one was delivered!!!
Good lord I am loving this serial! I really want to smack their mothers though. I know people like them out there actually exist, but good Lord, these two take the cake. It's so sweet how Audrey and James are falling for each other, but they are both so worried about how the other will take it. And I love how Jenny and Cole got together...perfectly adorable.
Great story line and the characters keep you hooked for more. Hate that it ends in a cliff hanger why not just make it 1 book and charge the $3 for it instead of the 99¢ each time with 3 parts. I would read anything else from this author because I like her writing but the bate and hook annoys me.
Wow, these two have more baggage than an airport. They can not seem to go anywhere without a family member trying to break them up or take advantage of them. There is just no predicting what will happen next, and after the cliffhanger in part one, I was not prepared for the cliffhanger in part two.
I realized into it I skipped part one, but I don't think it really mattered - I probably would have liked this less if I had read it "in order" - also I probably would have felt it was all too drawn out for the sake of being a "serial"
I liked that there were bumps in the road but they came together against their [omg fucked up] families.
This is part 2 of a series I love! The main characters James and Audrey are full of such chemistry! Then Ms. James adds a new spin of terrific suspense with both James high society mother and Audrey's pathetic mother. Could not put either book down. On to book 3, Cha
Holy crap is all I have to say. I hate James mom and Audrey's mother. They are both rude and horrible human beings! I feel so bad for both James and Audrey. On to the next book to finish their story.
