Voyager: A Great Summary About This Book Of Diana Gabaldon!
Voyager is a novel written by American author Diana Gabaldon. It is the third novel in Outlander series of novel, written by same author. This novel is a direct sequel to the second novel, Dragonfly in Amber. It follows the events which occurred immediately after the end of the second book.
This book, as well as the previous two, follows a woman named Claire Randall and her quests and adventures. Most of her quests occur during her time travel. She is able to travel through time by visiting a certain location (a stone circle), an ancient place, which allows its users to travel through time in order to reach certain era.
The previous books ends with Claire and her, now adult, daughter Brianna, visiting Brianna’s father (and one of the main protagonists from the previous two sequels) grave. While there, Claire decides to tell everything she did not tell her about her father; that a man named Jamie Fraser, a Highland warrior from 18th century was, in fact, her biological father.
Her daughter Brianna does not believe her and dismisses all what her mother told her, accusing her of making things up. One other thing left from the previous book is that it was presumed that Jamie died in a Battle of Culloden, but Roger Wakefield states that there is a great possibility that Jamie did not die and that maybe he is still alive.
This novel, as well as two previous novels, besides being continuation of the storyline, contains, more or less, the same quality. Loyalty to the cause and to one another, love, friendship, sacrifice and two, strong and fearless protagonists- premises, which made the previous two books successful ones and premises, which are bread and butter of this sequel too.
Those who liked Dragonfly in Amber and those who eagerly waited for author’s next novel, will surely like Voyager. Those who never read any of Gabaldon’s Outlander novels, this novel may serve as bait.
