The Unveiling of Love is the inspired work of an enlightened master of the Sufi Way. Sheikh Muzaffer Ozak was the renowned spiritual leader of the Halveti-Jerrahi Order of Dervishes in Istanbul and in the U.S., as well as other countries in the West. For the dervish, passionate and ecstatic adoration for the Divine Beloved illuminates both the heart and the mind. With the help of poems, traditional teaching stories and brief passages from the Koran, Sheikh Muzaffer Ozak unveils the meaning of spiritual affection and explores the relationship between the lover and beloved.
Expressly written for a Western audience, The Unveiling of Love presents valuable guidance for those with long experience in Islam and for those who are encountering Sufism and the meaning of spiritual love for the first time.
Muzaffer Ozak was one of the head sheikhs of the Halveti-Jerrahi order of Dervishes, a traditional muslim Sufi order (tarika) from Istanbul (Turkey). In western countries he is well known because of his visits to Europe and the United States of America where he celebrated public dhikrs (Remembrance of God; in Turkish "zikrullah") with his dervishes. He is also well known in Turkey for his "ilahis," religious Sufi hymns. Ozak also ran a bookstore in the Sahaflar Çarşısı in Istanbul. Works

3.5/5 The book has a emotional but clear writing style to it and covers a few concepts mainly dealing with 'aqeeda or the explanation of love of god from an observer's viewpoint and stretched on a "material plane". There is some redundancy in the ideas presented but it doesn't necessarily make the reading experience bad.
Discussions such as the Four types of Nafs, the external and internal ablutions, and the last chapters were particularly interesting.
