I hate serial cliff hangers so why I read this I don't know!
This is part one in the second half of the on going Boys of Porn series from AM Snead, who also writes as CJ Bishop and it's setting up all the new elements so there's an annoying cliff hanger.
The bizarre mix between Christianity and people suffering with the most awful abuse is also still running through the narrative and its only just managing to avoid becoming icky.
So in this lot we get Royal back from a Hollywood stint and he's as arrogant as we've been told he is. But is there more or is it another red herring being laid down to fool the reader down one particular path.
Poor Scotty is suffering even more and its difficult to see an out for the troubled young man and Gideon and Daniel continue to dance around their feelings and attraction.
There's been a bit of a gap since this one was published so I'm hoping the last two parts arrive sooner rather than later. And then I need to remember that I shouldn't start reading this particular author until all the serial parts are out!

Poor, poor Scotty. When will he ever get a break and find someone to love him for who he is?? OMG, the tears and the heartbreak of his past BUT I know that in this series somewhere there IS just the guy, and I think he may be named in the title of this novella, ROYAL. I can only hope and pray he is Scott's saviour cos he definitely needs one about now...
In other news, Gideon and Daniel are edging ever closer together...unless the renegade Pastor comes to his senses (finally) BUT I hope Gideon will tell him to take a running jump as he rejected Gideon all those years ago, jealous Lucas is losing his rag over Bailey (AGAIN!!) BUT you know guys, it really does help to talk when you actually, ya know, LOVE each other (just ask Garrett and Jack!!). The twins are, sigh, the twins and little devils that they are, are into everyone and everything but mostly themselves (yes, I know a lot of this review doesn't make sense BUT if you've followed the series, it makes perfect sense!!). Pratt, the vile cameraman has had an 'accident'...and yes, I have a sneaky suspicion it's the guy in a leather jacket who's responsible, and shall remain nameless .
Will my eyes ever recover from this weepy stuff...and my nails of course?? There are so many threads in this series that need to come together, it's difficult to keep up with it all, honest!! 4.5 stars from me.

This series is based on Cockyboys, a popular gay porn website. They are mostly known for their “romantic porn,” but more than that, the owners treat their models like family. They open their home them and not only do they have hearts of gold, they also treat each of their “pups” like how they would treat one of their own sons.
Royal Pain starts where Jack of all Trades left off (Book 3 of this series). Gideon and his gorgeous boys are back and distraught over the Scotty issue. Each is dealing with it in their own way (wink, wink). Gideon feels guilty and turns to Daniel for comfort, (yes, they’re finally getting closer). Then Royal returns all badass and arrogant, causing an uproar in the house between him and Lucas (he’s doing it to get a rise out of you Lucas, relax).
Meanwhile, Scotty is tormented and is trying to deal with his demons. He doesn’t feel worthy of love and thinks no one wants him to return home (Scotty breaks my heart, all I want to do is hug him and tell him everything will work out, I promise, AM will not leave you hanging).
Oh my gosh, I almost forgot about the hot water scene that was filmed, it’s a threesome. OH MY. It’s getting hot in here. Just ask Daniel he watched it first hand….
We also get a little more from David and what he is struggling with. This is going to be interesting. I’m very intrigued on where the story line is going. Hurry up book 5 and 6.
AM Snead makes you feel about her characters, her boys. I felt the pain they go through. I felt Lucas’ jealous feelings when Royal was talking to Bailey. You feel the love of a new romance and the love in a relationship that has an unbreakable bond. Gideon shows his “sons” the unconditional love that only a parent knows. So even though the name of the series is Boys of Porn, it has so much heart and soul, it’s hard not to fall in love with at least one of them.
As always AM writes an excellent book, with so many emotions, happy, laughter, lusting & crying – she’s got them all in there. Grab yourself a glass of wine (or maybe the bottle) and box of Kleenex and read this instalment of Boys of Porn, you won’t be sorry.

So sad!
Okay, I thought I wanted Scotty’s story, but my word! I could not imagine how horrible his past was. As good as Dr Knox is, and even she is still skeptical. Makes me want to choke these people. And Mickey! Although if he learns the truth about Scotty, he may end up shattered himself for all his lying to save Marcus. Can’t wait to read the next one now! Pratt needs to get served justice for his crimes. This book moved me beyond even tears. It was so unfathomable at times that I could not even cry. Just when I think the author can’t possibly come up with anything worse to do to a character, there it is. Makes me wonder how badly abused she was in her childhood! Ha ha!

Great read!
This book is as well written as any book from this author. The boys in this book are so real they grip your heart and it's hard to put it down.
The characters in this book are captivating and the story line gripping.
The mental health issues in the book are hand!ed with skill and sensitivity. Each character draws you in and as I said before makes it hard to put the book down.
This author writes men so well and the deeper dark past lives of the characters making them real and allowing the reader to fall in love with them. You are desperate for the next book as you need to find out your boys are alright.

Don't leave me hanging the suspense is killing me... Haha, so seriously good start to this volume of the series. I can already tell Scotty is going to be one of those characters that dig their claws into you, at first you hate him in the first volume, and now you get his story and you just want murder everyone who ever had or thinks of hurting him😞😭😤.... Can we send The Cowboy to Chicago 😈

Ok surprise ending.
This story will definitely keep you in twist and turns. I was so engrossed into the story that I didn't even realize how close I was to the end. Love the characters .

Unbelievably heartbreaking but so full of hope.
Royal Pain is book four of The Boys Of Porn series and follows on from the JACK trilogy.
Like every single book written by A.M. Snead it is just brilliant. And again like with all of her books I laughed, I cried, I almost fell off my chair and then I did it all again. Repeatedly.
I am so intrigued by Royal, and I love him already. Though I'm sure not everyone will share my opinion. Things are definitely about to get even more interesting (who knew that was even possible?) in Gideon's house and I just can't wait to see what comes next. I cried so many tears for my poor baby Scotty, he's been through hell and it just gets worse and worse for him. Something huge is going to go down in the next book, so I have to try my hardest to not die of impatience before its released. But alas you can't rush perfection. And that is what this book and every book A.M. Snead writes is- pure perfection. Its completely faultless, I loved every single page. Loved the sweetness, the cockiness, the happiness and definitely loved the sexy time, as always.
Gideon and his boys need a huge amount of love right now and if there's a woman for the job it's A.M Snead ;)

Ok, I think I have a handle on what's happened so far...or maybe not.....
To recap (possibly);
Despite much toing and froing, Jack and Garrett are together.
Mickey was attacked and Scotty blamed Pratt.
Mickey denied it was Pratt and blamed Scotty.
Pratt had sex with Scotty.
Mickey phoned someone and said 'He's gone, he's out of the house' the assumption is he was talking about Scotty., we don't know to whom.
Gideon has got some sort of strange virginal love triangle with Daniel and David the pastor going on. Well not really a triangle but you know what I mean...
Confused? Yeah me too.
My heart is breaking for Scotty, that poor, poor boy. I want to bring him home and look after him.
I don't even know how to review this book.
Everyone still cries all the time, absolutely nothing is resolved, no answers are forthcoming and ending chapter 16 there is just down right evil.
However, as with the first three books I couldn't put the damn thing down and despite how much I'd love to walk away from this series, because it's driving me bat shit crazy!!! I can't because I HAVE to know what the bloody hell is going on!!

Getting too dark and complicated
I'm not enjoying this anymore. How much is Scotty supposed to go through? His memories are disturbing enough. So far Royal's looking like some kind of vengeful bad guy, too. There's too much going on and too many dark subjects. I find Gideon's self-imposed martyrdom to be pretty ridiculous. I also dislike the use of religious stuff. As an atheist, I get annoyed when scripture is used for any purpose. So, for all these reasons, I'll have to consider whether to continue with this series.

Scotty and Royal's story doesn't have the same tone as Jack and Garrett's but it's enjoyable nonetheless! Scotty has a lot of healing to do before he can have a healthy relationship with Royal. Royal is an interesting guy! I think there's a lot to him that we don't know yet. It's nice to see Gideon and Daniel moving forward in their relationship! I hope they get together soon. I can't wait for the next one!

We also find out why Gideon is on a self imposed no relationship/sex ban too. It had me questioning some of what i'd read in the first 3 books but in a good way. Another home run
What can I say? Another winner, Audrey hit this out of the park! I love all the boys, but I want to send her (don't want to spoil this) to the monsters! I want to grab these boys, including Gideon and Daniel, and hold them close. Can't wait to read the next one!

In a spin! This series is amazing when you think your getting closer to the boys your not sure if it's right. My heart ached but wow this book gave it a kick start and we have fingers X a couple getting closer finally woo hoo.
If you like twists and the Unknown with true emotion then this is it.
With each book I go in blind so my emotions are ready :)

Fantastic story Fantastic series
Jesus this poor kid damn near killed me to read the horror he suffered. The twist and turns are freaking me out, everytime I think I've figured it out, you throw another twist....

I have loved every book in this series and the introduction of Royal is great. My heart breaks for Scotty and cannot wait to see what happens in the next book. Another excellent book by Ms. Snead!
