Seducing Robin: Things We Do For Lust Book Three

Rate this book
"It was odd and arousing, seeing the way my wife could turn her sexual energy on and off." Peter and Robin's marriage is at an impasse. He's living alone but spending quality time with a gorgeous red-headed bartender. She's sharing a home with Scott, her lover, the man who happens to own the Spa she manages. Peter wants to save the marriage, but he's not sure about his wife. His plan to confront her with an ultimatum is put on hold when a sudden crisis forces all of them to re-order their priorities. For months Peter and Scott have been sharing the same woman, but neither is happy with the situation. Now Peter fights to win back the heart of the woman he loves, and Scott continues his quest to seduce Robin and claim her for himself. This story contains graphic descriptions of various sexual acts between consenting adults. If you find that offensive, please avoid this book.

I had been putting off reading Sean Geist’s third book in the “Robin” trilogy until I was in the right frame of mind, I was expecting an emotional roller coaster, but it was not quite the ride I was expecting until around the last 20% or so.

Robin is still living between her husband Peter and her lover Scott, Peter finds it hard that she says she loves them both, he does not mind that she has sex with anther man, but he does find it hard that his wife has such strong feelings for another man and gives her an ultimatum. It is no great surprise that Robin continues to be selfish and put her own needs before those of her marriage and manages to get Peter to give her time. Things are further complicated when Robin falls pregnant, with Scott being the potential father, a meeting between the three of them leads to a fracas between Peter and Scott as his wife’s lover continues to get under his skin by being such a dick, something that even Robin begins to notice. While Peter leaves Robin to make up her mind he consoles himself with the distraction of his sexy redheaded barmaid friend, the sex they enjoy goes some way to restoring Peter’s confidence when it comes to having sex and making love with his wife in the times they get to have together with them spending so much time apart.

While this was an enjoyable read it did not match up to the previous two books and felt as though the author did not quite know what to do with the love triangle he had created. As with the two previous books the story is mainly told through Peter’s eyes, we are treated to a little of Peter and Robin’s back story along with a few snippets of how Robin feels about the situation, although strangely those parts are told from the third persons viewpoint. I felt there were aspects and feelings that could have been explored more. The book in general and particularly the ending seemed a little rushed and in what should have been a sweet moment for the winner of Robin’s affections did not quite materialise, although there was a “happy ending” for most of the protagonists.

This is the sadly anti-climatic end of a trilogy concerning the suddenly open marriage of Peter and Robin. In volume 1, Robin was seduced by Scott, who upends Peter and Robin's marriage when he offers Robin a job managing a spa in a new town. Volume 2 developed the story as Peter learned that expanding sexual horizons wasn't necessarily a bad thing, but also felt his marriage potentially slipping away. Unlike the uncertainty and eroticism of the first two books, Volume 3 feels mostly like delaying actions on the way to the inevitable happy ending. Scott has become insufferable almost from the beginning, including an incident that seals his fate before the book is a third over. After that it's a matter of the pieces falling into place, as Peter and Robin repeatedly trip over themselves and their egos on the way to reconnecting. It's not a bad book, just not up to the same level as its sibling books.

ive got to agree with other reviewers this wasn't up to the standard of the first two volumes.but still a good book!.Robin continues to mess with peters head.and although he is giving her more time you get the feeling she is just constanly laughing at him along with her lover...who,she has now moved in with!.without telling her husband about it although she tries to tell him she did tell him by phone a few weeks ago! one of many little lies she tells him.you find it hard to like robin.she just comes over as a selfish bitch.that constantly tries to humiliate her wimp of an husband.while telling him she loves him etc etc...the book did seem to lose its way at times.... read it if you read the first two..still a good read.

Great read

The three book story is filled with lust, unconventional love, heartbreak and a story line that leaves the outcome in question until the very end.

Too little of the wife's perspective and feelings for this ending to be satisfying.
