Listened on audible. Did not finish. Story was boring. I felt no connection to the characters. The narrator did fine with the men’s voices but the ladies voices just sounded silly. I’ve listened to many books and there are male narrators that really do a good job with the female characters. This one was not great.

Another wonderful read by Eliza Knight and I always know it's going to be an exciting story when Robert the Bruce is in it!! In a time when Scotland is fighting for its independance, danger lurks around every corner and no one is to be trusted, Gregor and Kirstin wage their own personal battle. He wants a second chance with her, she wants nothing to do with him. The hurts of the past is overwhelming and not easily overcome.

Between the characters, the storyline and the backdrop, I must say I thoroughly enjoyed this book!

Outlander meets Braveheart

Aside from the insults levelled at ALL of the English, softened only slightly by the presence of sympathetic Sassenachs, I enjoyed this romance and adventure a lot. Kirsten is a nun with a past and Gregor is that past. Thrown together after nearly a decade, can they overcome the challenges that face them? Spies, treason and danger at every turn. The characters and voice of the story are solid, despite some timeline problems.

Oh hum

The story was a good start to what seemed like would be a great read. The story just sort of fizzled. Felt like the characters and the story rushed toward me and then ZAP nothingness.
The scenes were well set up but left me let down with a weak presentation of the action.

This is an OK Medieval romance, but the couple was difficult to like at times. There were a few situations that I found very unbelievable, and I got irritated with the couple at times. It gets 3 stars from me.

Gregor was hard to like, because of what he had done to Kirstin years before. He didn't seem to understand for a long time that he deserved for her to leave him, and that what he had done was awful. He just kept blaming her for leaving so he couldn't apologize. He did get better, after she told him what she had endured, but still ...

I had a really difficult time believing that a nun would be able to get away with the things that Kirstin did. She first met Gregor, and got involved with him, when she had run away from the Abbey. Then, when they meet again, she keeps doing things with him that would absolutely be unacceptable behavior for a nun. I get that her aunt was her Mother Superior, but I still find it difficult to believe she would have gotten away with that behavior. I'm not a Catholic, but I do know that nuns have to follow very strict rules -- and I believe the rules in medieval times were much stricter than they are now.

I also really wondered why Kirstin still loved Gregor after what he had done to her. Most women would not want to see a man like that ever again, and certainly wouldn't still be in love with them.

This is not the author's fault, and it didn't affect my review, but this makes several times recently when I've found a Medieval romance unsatisfying. They always contain so much violence, which bothers me. I also think maybe I'm a little too liberated to handle the way women were treated in those days. Even when a woman had a good husband, she was still his property, and had almost no independence. Maybe I should stick with romances from a more contemporary time period ...

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

Amaz-za-zing!!!

I loved it.

Kat or Sister Kristen was astounding, the strength behind the woman without claiming it. Her struggle more mental than anything and yet how can you not weep with her and feel for her.
Gregor a more gental but deadly soul. I can only imagine him as a giant Scot teddy bear with his character so perfect.
This book being about regret and forgiveness.
They only complaint I had was what about the Isle of Skye? It leaves it open for the next book and so on having you grasp for answers.
Though, all in all I found it a perfect love battle, a perfect struggle and the learning to forgive trust and trust your heart. I applaud the author for such a well written book. Look forward to reading more of Eliza Knight's stuff!
Lastly in my opinion for a rainy day or a beach read I give this a thumbs up. Also there is some steamy parts that you cannot pass up. Gotta love the passion between your soul crossed main charcters!

I love it when stories cross over!

We are around the Sutherland’s world. This time, we follow Kirstin, who has become a nun after the tragic attack on her family. I absolutely adore the fact that we learn that she is far from the demure, shy and reserved lady we have met in the previous book! In fact, she is downright adventurous! She has met Gregor before and their previous encounter is unexpected in every way! Gregor is a steadfast, strong man, who has evolved from a rogue and having an irresponsible way of life to become a very respected laird. He will have to go WAY out of his comfort zone before being able to win Kirstin! Magnus, Arbella, Aliah and Blane make a quick appearance: that was very sweet! Loved it! Make sure to read the stories in order: this way, you’ll be able to enjoy all the little innuendoes here and there!

Gregory and Kay a.k.a Kristrin

Book 2- This is the second time I've read this and as in most books I come away with a completely different view and pick up things I didn't get before. Of course life has marched on for me as well, so it makes it more interesting. Gregor and Kay is truly a book where the term " second time around" is a good example. The first time they met, they were younger, this time they both had lived a life but their love never getting lost. After finding Kay again, then having too rescue her from a man who has no morals...well read the book and find out what happens. Oh did I forget to tell you Kristin is a nun???

Great romantic adventure

I loved this story of a young nun qith a secret past, Kirsten, who is sent on a journey as the behest for the head of her abbey.
It's on this journey that she is forced to face her past in the form of Gregor. He's a handsome Laird whose path she crosses in her travels.
The two become involved in a tale of intrigue involving their loyalty to the King of Scotland and those out to destroy him. Their lives are in danger, and their relationship is in question, but their attraction to each other is hotter than ever.
I read it from start to finish and really enjoyed it. I highly recommend it.

Definitely a 5 star performance once again by Antony Ferguson as he pulls the characters from the book out into our imagination. Eliza Knight never fails to provide us with an awesome adventure filled with romance, suspense, action and unforgettable characters. I'd say this is a must read book as well as a must have audio book! While I love both regular books and audio books, I can get a lot more accomplished listening to an audio and imagining I'm watching the events.

I love Eliza Knight's books just because they're really low key and cheesy and even with the angst it feels lighthearted because the characters aren't very deep lol. This was really cute and good for a few hours of escape and happy ending without much problems novel. Her writing is also pretty concise. Usually highlander novels from the Scottish Independence War era are fun without much heartbreak. Even though this did have heartbreak, it was mended pretty fast lol

Seduced by the Laird

Wow, just when one sister's story captured my heart, this amazing story of love lost and the road back again was outstanding. Once you give your heart to someone can you be satisfied with giving your life to the church? Kristin tried but fate had a plan. This story of murder, kidnapping, treason and betrayal was so very captivating, I couldn't stop reading. Tears and smiles all through. Loved it.

This one was decent but I’ve definitely read better Highlander books and books by this author. So it wasn’t really any issue with the author that I didn’t like, just the storyline. I didn’t like how the H pushed the h away and I sure didn’t like that it took almost the entire book for them to be back together. 9 years is a huge amount of time to be apart and while the h didn’t seem happy during their separation, it didn’t seem to me the H had suffered much being away from her.

A wonderful read of love lost and found

I would highly recommend this story of love lost and found. Although years have passed since they were together, Kirstin and Gregor have never lost their love. Through the intrigue of the situation with William Wallace these two travel through danger to find each other again.

Saints

Hero had the patience of a saint. One flaw and wish that a better job was done in proofreading. The first chapter starts august 1305 in the chapter it has been a year that her sister has been married. If you are following the series it should be Aug 1306 and the epilogue should be Dec 1306. Just a little thing but frustrating. Love the series and I'm on to the next.

Wonderful

I truly enjoyed this book. Anything with The Bruce in it excites me. Gregor and Kay was a true love story with lots of love and forgiving. But in the end loves usually always wins and I love a happy ending.

Kirstin and Gregor were so much fun to read and follow. or someone to go through what she did and be away from her family so long, she was amazing. She finally got what she deserved all those years ago. His persistence was admirable. He never gave up on her. Sir John was a really surprising addition.

I hated this. I listened to the audiobook on my commute and the narrator did a horrible job. The plot was boring and vapid and incredibly historically inaccurate. The writing is terrible. I don’t know what I was expecting given the amateur photoshop job that is the cover. Also, the title has nothing to do with the book. There’s no seduction happening. I was very tempted to not even finish this book. I physically cringed throughout the entire thing.

Not believable that a man would pine for a woman for ten years who he only knew for one. The audio narrator cannot do women's voices. He sounds like when the members of Monty Python dressed up like women and used those ridiculous voices

Audiobook Review:
Overall – 5
Performance – 5
Story – 5

I loved it!

This was even better than the first book. A bit of mystery, some angst and some smexy time. Once again Antony Ferguson did a great job performing this story.
