I write software at a San Francisco startup. I have my dream job, but I also have a secret.

We are not alone. The last time I was taken I was fourteen. Three weeks ago I celebrated my twenty-first birthday, and I know that the grey men will soon come again. I devoted my life to technology so I’d be ready when they returned. Others have prepared too, and I will find them.

Together we will harness the abilities they have given us. We are Project Solaris. It’s time to fight back.

By day I am an iPhone developer architecting the app used to scope Stephen Colbert’s ear. By night I am Batman. Ok maybe not. One can dream though, right?

I’ve been writing since I was six years old and started inflicting my work on others at age 18. By age 24 people stopped running away when I approached them with a new story and shortly thereafter I published my first one in the Rifter.

Wait you’re still reading?

Ok, the facts I’m supposed to list in a bio. As of this writing I’m 38 years old and live just north of the Golden Gate Bridge in the beautiful town of Mill Valley. If you’re unsure how to find it just follow the smell of self-entitlement. Once you see the teens driving Teslas you’ll know you’re in the right place.

I live in a tiny studio that I can cross in (literally) five steps and don’t own an oven. But you know what? It’s worth it. I love developing iPhone apps and if you want to work in San Francisco you accept that rent for a tiny place costs more than most people’s mortgage.

If you and about 2 million other people start buying my books I promise to move out of Marin to a house in the redwoods up in Guerneville. No pressure. Wait that’s a lie. Pressure.

Aliens, Superpowers, what could go wrong!!! Well nothing really, cause I really enjoyed this action packed read.

David was 14 when he was taken by the Grey Men. He was on a date with Jillian when they took him. He came back after 12 hours, changed, and Jillian after 8 days. David suppressed the memories and left when he was 18. Now, seven years later, what happened then is about to turn his life upside down!!

I really liked David! He has made a good life for himself after what happened him when he was 14. He has been denying what happened ever since then but deep down he knows there is something wrong with him! He realises that things are going to change when he gets a call from his mother saying that They are coming again! From that moment on David is immersed in a fight for his life, all the while trying to deal with what he is.

Plot wise, I enjoyed the pacing. At the start, we get the sense of who David is and how frightened he is of what happened. The author gives just enough of the back story at the stat that you have a fair idea of what's going on. Then we get further insights throughout the book, which I realy liked, and it brought the book together.

In all, this is a really great read. I loved the super powers element and really enjoyed the Alien aspect too. Also I loved how we had echoes of the authors other series (not the werewolves or zombies ;) ) but I'll let you figure out what they were!!! I thoroughly enjoyed this and look forward to book two. Great characters, great writing and a great plot = win.

Short and sweet

This was not a very lengthy book but it packed a lot of activity into its pages. David is a young software developer who just happens to have "super" powers as the result of a very close encounter he had with little grey men when he was 14. He also has what it takes to defend humanity from a threat that is coming to take over the planet. All in all, this was a fun Y/A type of story.

A good read but felt boring most of the time. Do not get me wrong, it was fast-paced and from the first chapter there was action and suspense. However, the characters are easily forgotten.

Sacked me in

With a Twist on Modern time and locations it was very easy to Envision the story as I went. Definitely recommend

In the Universe that Chris Fox has created with the grey men, werewolves and other changeling type humans and humans with super powers I have to say I like the super hero humans a little better. A year or so before the coronal mass ejection people with super powers are fighting against the grey men and discovering that the sun is going to wipe out technology on earth and awaken a virus that the grey men do not know about. The pyramids of the ancient inhabitants of earth will resurface as to unleash the changeling humans to battle for their own piece of the planet. I love how all of this is coming together in the two series. All of the different players discovering pieces of the whole. One hopes all the "good guys" will come together and kick the asses of the grey men and their masters.

Solid four star read

Another good author, found because of independent authors advertising for each other. Anyhow, this is a newish twist on an established theme. Well done, and look forward to reading the next one. The thing (for me) keeping it from being five stars is the depth of each character. You can see where some of it is going, even where the potential for having a visceral feel for the various players, but it isn't there yet. So, for me, four solid stars. Good story, well told. Happy I picked it up, and will pick up another.

Once again wow. Probably not as immediately compelling as the Deathless series or the Void Wraith Trilogy but still ended being a page turner. This author is fast becoming a favourite and an author I will do a rare thing and preorder anything he writes.

It was ok.

I've read Chris Fox's Deathless series and this story is going to tie in somehow, later in book 2. For an intro to Solaris, it's not bad. Not as exciting as his other books, but a good intro to what's to come.

A FINE TALE OF ALIENS AND SUPED UP MUTANTS IT IS..

Hello, this is a good story. Very well written and gives us readers a background for the rest of the books. Thanks.
