★★★★★! Childstar, book 1 of 3. Hollywood bad boy & American good girl steam up the big screen, but behind the headlines lays heartache & betrayal!

Books in Childstar serial should be read in order:
Book 1: Childstar 1
Book 2: Childstar 2
Book 3: Childstar 3

They once dominated their industry; child stars with success after success, awards, fame, fortune and in their teen years an affair that ended with scandal. Now they are back together sizzling up the big screen.

Childstar (part 1) opens up to casting of the next blockbuster, Sinners Like Us an erotic suspense based on a best seller. Former child star, teen heartthrob and Hollywood bad boy recently out of drug rehab, Noah Sloan has been cast for the lead.

Former child star, teen idol, head of a branding empire and fizzling career, Amelia London has lived off her good girl image, but it is wearing old and getting this part opposite Noah can be her lucky break.

The story goes onto to follow them on set in Chicago as production begins. After years apart; a painful breakup and regrets never resolved Noah and Amelia hit the ground feuding fueled with an intense sexual chemistry.

Noah Sloan intrigued me, engaged me and later surprised me. He wrapped himself around my heart and I so want for him to break the mold he’s been cast in.

Amelia London is trapped in the good girl image and she needs her inner vixen to wake up. Who better to help her but the only man who every held her heart and rocked her world.

Childstar, told from dual POVs, starts off as lust-hate but quickly reveals a fast-paced polished blend of: excellent character development, sizzling sex scenes and engaging plot with mystery and intrigue.

I read it in one sitting, and I feel like re-reading it again. I cannot wait for part 2, Childstar 2 for the continuation of their story.

Compelling and endearing heroine. Broken, complex and swoon-worthy hero! Sexual tension overload! A plot made for the tabloids!

I’m selfish.
I’m a liar.
I’m immature.
My life feels like I’m spinning out of control every single day.
I’m a child star.

Childstar 1 is the first part of a 3 part series. Once I started reading this, I flew through it and read it cover to cover in about an hour or so. I couldn’t put it down. I am so fascinated by these two child stars, their connection, their story, and the direction it’s going to take. I usually don’t read a ton of these novellas/serials. I read one a while back and the author made us wait over 9 months for an installment (insanity!) but knowing these have set release dates (10/27, 11/10 and 11/17) I was okay with jumping in! I’m so happy I did.

Amelia London is America’s sweetheart and a well known child star. She wants to break away from that title and jump into something new. A popular book to movie called Sinners Like Us. The role is something totally new for her, and it’s exactly what she needs. The only problem… the male lead has already been cast. And it’s none other than her ex and another child star, Noah Sloan.
My first kiss? Noah.
My first time? Noah.
My frist heartbreak? Noah.

 photo C257F377-54D9-4771-97B0-A874370078A0_zpszwlsggwk.jpg

Noah Sloan is America’s bad boy. But he’s so much more than that! Just wait until you read his side of things… Noah has not surprisingly been cast as Damon (the bad boy) in Sinners Like Us. He is a fan favorite. When he hears Amelia is being cast as Blair, he has mixed feelings. He’s not sure how he’s gong to deal with seeing her again. About playing her love interest. With Noah, things aren’t always as they seem.
Even after all of these years, Amelia London was still my kryptonite, and she still didn’t know it.

The secrets, the lies, the betrayal…. Gah! I am so intrigued by the start of this series and cannot wait for the next installment! I love reading stories like this! The entire time I was reading I was thinking about one of my favorite series being turned into a movie and the process etc. Then at the end when some bombs were dropped I was like what? JJ McAvoy always seems to surprise me in her books. Even ones like this, that would seem predicable, she comes out with something I didn’t see coming. Overall, I loved this one lots and I NEED MORE :)
All of my best memories were of him… of us.

Genre:Romance - Short Stories
Type:Book 1 of 3 Childstar Series
POV:First Person - Dual

Childstar is book one in the three part short story series. The story is about two Hollywood Child Stars; a bad boy meet American sweetheart. The story is fabulous full of everything I look for in a book. It's funny, lots of sexual tension, heartache, betrayals, secrets, and a super twisted ending that I did now see coming.

Amelia London, at age twenty-five gorgeous feels trapped; to the world she is a good girl but she is sick of the life, the lies that her life had become living in the shadows of Hollywood. Her heart was broken and shattered by one man that she never thought she would see again. Destiny put him back into her life and she was ready to confront her demons and take a risk at getting her heart broken again but she knew it was worth it.

“Our relationship was doomed from the start. The only love that last in Hollywood is the one we fake and sell to others.” Amelia

Noah Sloan, twenty-seven years old managed to grow up as a Childstar with Amelia they both fell in love. Circumstances forced them to be separated for over nine years and he didn't care about anything he continue to show off a bad boy imagine because he was nothing without her. However to the world he was a drug addict who is struggling to make a comeback to the big screen.

“I was nothing. If I didn’t act, I was nothing. It was just that simple.” Noah

Both their careers were at stake; Amelia wasn't going to make it big anytime soon anymore unless she takes the only offer that could change her life around. Noah had a bad reputation and was in the same position declining this offer meant no more acting for him. When the only chance for both of them comes up to be the lead actor/actress for the most wanted movie of the year "Sinners Like Us ". This movie was an erotic suspense based on a top seller book. They both had no choice but to take it. Neither of them realized the movie's characters were going to be perfect for each other based on their history. They were both stubborn and fought all the time but their chemistry was just amazing and incredible in front and behind of the cameras.

Their time spent making the movie was priceless I absolutely enjoyed and devour every minute of it. This book considering it was so short had it all for me I was hooked from page one and it left me wanting for more. I will recommend this book to everyone. The minute this book comes out go get it trust me it will be worth it book two and three will come out shortly right after so the waiting is not going to be long. There was so much sexual tension, angst both amazing hero and heroine you will fall hard for Noah and I hurt for both. Did I cried?! Yes and Yes because I just felt so much reading this book the emotions were driving me wild. I just want them to be happy but I guess I’ll have to wait patiently to get there.

4.5 stars!

"Even after all of these years, Amelia London was still my kryptonite, and she still didn’t know it."

Well I am stumped. I've never read a book by JJ McAvoy and I am filled with regret and shame for not having done so until now.

Child Star Pt. 1 is the first in a 3 part novella series and as far as I know the whole series is written, so wait times for releases shouldn't be too horrible. This book is the story of Amelia London and Noah Sloane, both grew up as child actors on the same show and when they hit their teens they were boyfriend and girlfriend.

Noah was Amelia's first everything: first kiss, first time and first love, until he ruined it all by publicly cheating on her. Since then Amelia has become America's sweetheart and Noah has become the famous bad boy. Both of their careers are not where they wanted them to be by their mid twenties, and when they are both offered roles in a new movie titled Sinners Like Us, they jump on the chance.

For Noah, the role is a shoe-in. He's already proved himself as a Hollywood playboy, just getting out of rehab and screwing receptionists in hotel bathrooms. For Amelia, this role is a stretch. She's the good girl and playing a vixen is a role she has yet to conquer. But the mutual hatred for each other fuels the actors into delivering an explosive performance, and old feelings come back to the surface.

"I'm so broken I don't even know where to begin to piece myself together. So how do I look at you, let alone love you, when I can't even love myself?"

I gotta say this one blew me away. I'm not normally a huge fan of the novella format but JJ McAvoy packed a lot into only 95 pages. I was hooked from the first page! Sneaking peeks in the bathroom at work, waiting in the checkout line in the grocery store, pretty much any spare minute I got. (At a friend's birthday dinner too but let's not go there).

I love second chance romances, the idea that feelings for another person can remain true over the years despite other life experiences getting in the way. I'm not normally a fan of men who have done wrong by the heroine in the past, but reading from Noah's perspective and feeling what he felt convinced me that he is the perfect guy for Amelia, even if he himself is not so perfect.

I loved Amelia and how for her this movie was a chance to prove herself, to step outside of her comfort zone and to deliver an amazing performance. I felt like this journey for her was a growing experience and opened her eyes to what she is capable of. And as for her and Noah I think she's the perfect girl to fight for what she wants and needs.

I will agree that the ending escalated quite fast, but I am willing to see where this goes. Oh, and that sex scene tho? Hot DAMN. That's all I'll say. I am dying to read the next book already!!!

"One day I was going to wake up, look at myself in the mirror and see a decent guy... just not today."

4.25 Sinners Like Us STARS

”All my best memories were of him…of us.”

J.J. McAvoy delivers a love/hate second chance romance, under the bright lights of Hollywood. Former child stars, Amelia London and Noah Sloan, who were once very much in love, end up having to spend a lot of time together. Now ten, years later, they are casted as the leads in the highly anticipated film, Sinners Like Us.

The story is roughly an hour’s read and packs quit the punch. Delivering a likable heroine who is trying to breakout away from her America's sweetheart image and a troubled, sexy, hero. Expect some really hot sexual tension, intense push and pull and an underlying love that I could definitely feel through the pages.

I am totally captivated by this author since I read Sugar Baby Beautiful
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... and couldn’t wait get into Childstar soon enough.

Childstar 1 is the 1st novella in the Childstar Trilogy and what a hot and steamy story about two child stars and former lovers, whose careers are a bit in the doldrums and who find themselves together again after being cast in what is slated to be the new breakthrough to getting their careers back on track.

Neither is too happy being cast together in the lead roles in the romantic, erotic and suspense movie that will have them both being with each other on a daily basis.

Amelia was heartbroken after Noah had betrayed her all those years ago but she has never forgotten him or ceased to have feelings for him….

Noah’s life is spiraling out of control. Just out of rehab, his days and nights are spent on mindless sex and now he has to deal with having Amelia back in his life. Someone he has never forgotten or stopped loving, despite the horrible way he had broken up with her.

I am not a huge fan of novellas – just when I’m into the story, it ends and I am left with the thought….what, this is it.?? However, Childstar didn’t make me feel that so much. The author does an incredible job in so few pages, in creating a well paced plot and really good character development.

Amelia and Noah are two characters I want to know more about. I found them really engaging and liked them together as a couple. The sexual tension between them was something else….sensual, sexy, hot, sizzling…you get the picture!!!!
The Reviving of Izabel by J.A. Redmerski photo giphy_zpsb5c99814.gif
I adored the Hollywood setting of the story….the fickle life, where your life is never your own and what matters most is how you are judged by what people think of you by how successful you last movie was…
 photo T2eC16NHJHgE9n0yEjMRBQnE96Vp--_1_zpsmd4zqg0x.jpg
Second chance love, intrigue and the most unexpected twist at the end…..That was a brilliant cliffhanger and I can’t wait to find out more in the next episode.

4 unimaginable, illogical, impossible, and fucking beautiful stars
“Once upon a time,
a most joyous time,
before the dark times,
a time before time,
there was you, and there was me
as stupid as young lovers could be.
Not our mothers,
fathers,
sisters or brothers,
could separate us not even to a degree.
They mocked us about sitting in trees.
We made out,
put out,
then fell out of that tree.
So it was just you,
and it was just me
now fruits of a poisonous tree.”

Noah Sloan, Hollywood's #1 Bad Boy, has been on a the road of self-destruction for several years. At his agent's one last ditch attempt to save Noah's career he is signed on to be the male lead in Sinners Like Us. Playing the role of Damon Shaw is a walk in the park but once he sees who is casted as his leading lady, it's like a punch in the gut. Needing to push her far, far away from him, needing her to hate him is his only hope...
Even after all of these years, Amelia London was still my kryptonite, and she still didn’t know it.

Amelia London was the epitome of a child actress, forever beloved and forever cherished, its no wonder why as an adult she is struggling to make a come back. Sinners Like Us. is her last hope, she just has to put her big girl panties on and deal with her first; first kiss, first time and first heartbreak. Seeing him brings all those feelings back full force, realizing they never got the closure they needed to properly move on, this time they are not stupid teenagers plagued with puppy love.
You both were children who were forced to become adults, and now you’re adults who are acting like children. Him self-destructing, you utterly confused because you don’t want to love him, so you try and love someone else.

Their passion is explosive and destructive but completely undeniable. But the truth comes out showing the depths one would go all for the sake of love.

Child Star 1 is an enthralling series of firsts loves and true loves, there is not logic or magic formula, it's just the truth. For a shortie this was something fierce, feeding on our need for sex, angst and mystery. At first I wasn't sure what to expect, first of all I was tickled pink when I found this little gem on my kindle, so I dove right in without even reading what it was all about. I love the author's work, she has not steered me wrong, so I trusted in her to deliver in a style of her own and she didn't let me down.

I love the whole idea behind it, I loved Noah and Amelia and I got a kick seeing as I enjoyed the characters that they play as well. Your probably wonder why 4 stars vs. the 5, well it's because I am still wrapping my head around the "reason" behind it all. I'm sure it will all make sense, I just need more of their story. An awesome entertaining sexy read!

~4.5 I NEED BOOK 2 NOW STARS~

description

"You poor things. You're going to have to struggle for a long time."

J.J. McAvoy has done it again! Childstar 1 is an addictive read that will leave you wanting more. It is a story of two children that were shaped into blockbuster actors. They fell in love and then fell apart. When the two are brought back together again, can their hearts survive another break?

description

Noah Sloan and Amelia London met as child actors on the set of a popular sitcom show. They transformed from friends to young lovers overnight. If only love was enough! Noah broke Amelia's heart when he cheated on her and left her alone with her overbearing "stage mom". Noah has become Hollywood's Bad Boy while Amelia has become the "washed up" America's Sweetheart! Now the opportunity of a lifetime is right in front of them. Both are cast in an upcoming erotic suspense blockbuster movie titled Sinners Like Us! Now, if only they can survive working together again.

"I was nothing. If I didn't act, I was nothing. It was just that simple."

description

"He was always Noah: the cocky, cold, and distant one."

Noah is falling apart. Drowning in alcohol and women, he is only trying to cover up the intense feelings he has for Amelia. Amelia never recovered from the heart shattering blow she was dealt when Noah walked away from her. When the two are brought together again, the emotions are raw. Both are sexually charged with penned up physical attraction and both have an overflowing abundance of feelings for one another. Can they find a way to film this movie with out killing each other or will they end up back in the arms of one another again?

description

"I don't like seeing you like this, so I'm going to hug you, and when you're back to yourself again, you can go back to hating me."

description

Childstar 1 packs a powerful punch to the system. It held me captive the entire read. I was drawn to the emotional growth in Amelia and the emotional breakdown of Noah. I enjoyed every second of this bad boy and beautiful girl coming apart while being pulled together. The sexual chemistry between the two was explosive and yet equally as remarkable was the tenderness between the two. Told in dual POV, J.J. gives us just enough of each character to feel the hurt, taste the disgust, and experience the anticipation of what could be! In true McAvoy style, as soon as you think you might have figured things out, revelations are made that will leave your jaw open and your heart rate on overdrive! I anticipate great things to come as the plot thickens with each installment!

"When it came to Noah, I was apparantly a masochist."

description

Overall, I highly recommend this read to anyone who enjoys a sexually charged couple, damaged characters, and suspense. I was not expecting this ending AT ALL. So be prepared because you will be DYING to get your hands on Part 2! (I know I am!) Noah and Amelia's story just proves that LOVE might be enough after all!

Child Star is a 3 part serial. This book is fast pace and sexy.

Noah Sloan and Amelia London have known each other forever. They were child stars who grew up together and fell in love. But as in young love, heartbreaks happen and it forever changes you. Fast forward 10 years and these two are reunited in a movie that will launch their careers again. Noah is handsome and Hollywood’s bad boy and Amelia is beautiful and America’s sweetheart.

The story of Noah and Amelia reuniting started out slow and built nicely. There is an edge and lots of sexual tension. The connection that these two had and still have is deep and passionate. But hurt feelings and unresolved issues simmer below the surface drawing them to one another. Even when they know they shouldn’t submit to their feelings, their desires win out. But there are secrets and lies and unexpected twists. In order to move forward, questions from the past needs answers. But will those answers bring them closer or forever seal them apart?

 photo Child star 2_zps24kpjdaa.jpg

I love that the author does the unexpected and throws wrenches in the plan. I could feel that Noah and Amelia were destined to be together but others had different ideas. I love the pace of the story, I know it's a short story but the author moved the story perfectly.

I have had the opportunity to watch JJ McAvoy flourish with her writing. From her first book Ruthless People to now Child Star, she keeps getting better and better!!!

I can’t wait for Child Star: Part 2 and 3.

Let me offer my advance apologies for the shrinking of the lady boners which will commence in 3, 2, . . . .

When I saw a book about child stars all groweds up and attempting a comeback via a Mr. & Mrs. Smith meets 50 Shades movie I was ALL. OVER. IT. I mean, cheese is my favorite food group and this???? This sounded . . .

Chicago commercial photographers

Then I began to picture the “child stars” themselves . . .

Chicago commercial photographers

Chicago commercial photographers

Don’t say I didn’t warn you, but AmIRight or AmIRight? America’s sweetheart who is desperate to change her image and the once golden boy who is now all f*&^%d up on drugs????? DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!! Also, even though the two aforementioned former stars might be hot messes, you still would probably bang them. I mean seriously, look at Shia LeBeouf’s body . . .

Chicago commercial photographers

It’s just one of those things that has to be your own private dirty little secret because you would never hear the end of it, but your husband wonders why you’re such a Sia fan all of a sudden and keep watching her video on a loop for hours and hours and hours.

Anyway. I had been interested in J.J. McAvoy because Ruthless People sounded like it might be up-my-alley as far as a porny read goes, but since I’m super cheap I was afraid to spend more than zero dollars on it. When Shelby noted Child Star up for grabs I immediately clicked the request button. I was not disappointed. Not only was the story actually fresh for a change - yes, the two were former lovers thrown back together, but the whole child star twist kinda made the tired trope go *poof*. Plus the smex? Whoooooooosssssssaaaaaaaah! Yowza. In case you were curious, eventually I stopped picturing Shia and let my fantasy evolve . . .

Chicago commercial photographers

Yeah, dude don’t even have a beard in the book, but long hair sure as shit don’t care.

This book was super hawt, it had a plot, and I can’t wait to read the next one (dammit). While I would loooooooove to give this m-f'er 1 Star simply for the fact that it is a SERIAL and the only thing I hate more than a series is a farking serial(!!!!!), McAvoy is doing it the smart way and the entire thing will be a rap and released as one book around Thanksgiving. What better way to spend some quality time with the family around the holidays then by reading porn?????

4.5 "Lights, camera, action!" STARS

This was the first of a three part series about the lives of Amelia London, America's sweetheart and Noah Sloan, Hollywood's bad boy. Both Amelia and Noah were huge in Hollywood during their childhoods and now, ten years later, both their careers are circling the drain. They both need a comeback - FAST - to salvage their stardom.

 photo Childstar1_zpsupzbehlm.jpg

Amelia and Noah also have a not so pretty past together. Once co-stars in a hit sitcom and also lovers until Noah publicly cheated on Amelia. Since then, they are like oil and water and avoid each other at all costs.

“My first kiss? Noah
My first time? Noah
My first heartbreak? Noah.”

As luck would have it, they are cast together in the next big movie based on a novel with epic popularity like Fifty Shades of Grey.

I really enjoyed this quick and entertaining read. Both Amelia and Noah have their issues, let's face it, who wouldn't having grown up in the limelight? And of course, each have issues with their parents in addition to being their parents' personal ATMs.

Also, it seems as though Noah thrives on keeping his bad boy persona alive. He sleeps with random, one time hook ups and pops pills like candy. And Amelia is stuck with the good-girl label and while that's who she is, she's tried of being under the constant scrutiny.

This is a story of second chances: for another opportunity at stardom and with each other. Amelia and Noah have a lot of real, strong and mixed up emotions for each other. Together, they bring a lot of chemistry, angst, heartbreak, anger, lust and also friendship to this story.

 photo childstar2_zpsq58nzn98.jpg

"Even after all of these years, Amelia London was still my kryptonite, and she still didn’t know it."

Of course, this is also a story about lies, secrets and betrayal. It is Hollywood after all! Things are not as they seem and absolutely loved the twist that JJ threw out at the end. I want the second novella NOW!

She did it again, this is crazy ... she is crazy.... And I'm crazy that I give it a five star... lol

About the plot: Amelia London and Noah Sloan first met as young children who played together in the popular television series. Over the years as teenagers falling in love with each other. However their youthful love ended up heartbroken. Now, as adults they meet again.

Both of them for different reasons decided to play with the based on the book blockbuster erotic movie Sinners Like Us. Noah Sloan, got the role because he was a fan favorite and perfect fit for the role. Amelia London took part in the casting because she wanted to break with the image of the good girl. Their shared chemistry lead to collaboration on the film.

Now they must remain professional on the set, and at the same time try to solve their problems from the past.

"You both were children who were forced to become adults, and now you’re adults who are acting like children."

Final thoughts: Sounds usual? Well, yes but it is not. I immediately had association with madness that has happened during the filming of Twilight or Fifty... I'm sure that most who read such books began with one of them. So when I started to read it, it was standard and simple. But I hooked, because as I said be during that frenzy and to be able now to read something like this is just good fun.

As in books of this author, everything has happened quickly, a lot of action, hot scenes on the set and beyond. Sexual tension is high.

“Do you feel better?” she whispered when we broke apart, breathing in one other deeply. “If not, fuck me until you do.”

There is not too much background, descriptions, and contact with the characters you catch better only when you read further. For some, it is through what they are not fans, for me, quite the contrary. I am excited and locked.

For what I love J.J. McAvoy, it is that no matter what ridiculous scene sometimes comes up, she always pops up with something that will surprise and captivate me even more. And it once again happened. I thought I know all. And at the end I was aware of it why this book will be suspense.

I had a small problem with the rating, because it is short and ends in the course. It's still not enough. I want more and count on more. Here really not much more to add, just wait. So I'm waiting for the next book like crazy! But definitely I recommended to read. Because in its ordinariness is truly remarkable.

I have to admit that while reading this book my thoughts kept going to the making of the FSOG movie and I kind of expected that me put me off but it was exactly the contrary because ...

description

Don't get me wrong...I don't think the author inspired herself from the journey of that movie but even if she did I don't really give a fuck because once I picked up this book I just couldn't put it down until it was over and I devoured every single word...it was like I was binge reading...you know like eating...but with books instead :P

description

The first episode of the Childstar series introduces us to Noah Sloan a.k.a America's bad boy and Amelia London a.k.a America's sweetheart. They where friends...then lovers...and in the end HE just ignored her and SHE hated him...

description

Time has passed and now they end up costarring in the same movie and things are not easy...one moment they're fighting...

description

...and the next one they are fucking :P

description

What I didn't really like, and the reason I deducted half a point from my rating, was the fact that the characters don't ever use a condom, nor do they address the issue of contraceptives or the lack of them. I don't expect everybody to use them but at least discuss it before...or after...or ever...

description

Because this book is part of a serial it ends with a cliffy but the author doesn't leave us with too big of a cliffhanger...non the less we are left with wanting more...

5 'Sinners Like Us' Stars

This book follows Amelia London and Noah Sloan. Amelia and Noah are hollywood stars. They are Childstars. They have been acting since they were kids, they've worked together, and even dated.

America's Good Girl
 photo image_zps9tdu5qwp.jpg

I’m selfish.
I’m a liar.
I’m immature.
My life feels like it’s spinning out of control every single day.
I’m a child star.

America's Bad boy

 photo image_zps2szu5hrh.jpg

I was the cute, loveable, Noah Sloan on Mother’s Rules when I was seven and then on Kid Genius at twelve. At thirteen, I won my first Oscar. At fifteen, I was the number-one teen heartthrob in America, and at seventeen, when I got caught “cheating” on my then-girlfriend, fellow child star Amelia London, I became Hollywood’s new bad boy overnight.

Amelia hates Noah. She gave everything to him and he broke her heart. Till this day she still wonders, Why?

My first kiss? Noah.
My first time? Noah.
My first heartbreak? Noah.

Now, being 25, Amelia is “too old” to be considered cute. Her career will be over if she doesn't do something drastic. And there's only one thing to do, film an exotic movie to clear up her good-girl image. And that is Sinners like us.

Noah, 27, out of rehab, no one would want to work with him. He has no choice but to do Sinners like us.

But there's a tiny problem...
1. They hate each other
2. They'll have to act as couple
3. There's going to be some porno involved
4. They have history

Not so hard right, guess again. The fans are CRAZY. They went shit-crazed when they found out that Amelia got the part. Apparently she's "too good" for the part. I guess she'll have to prove people wrong.

 photo image_zpslo6qgjvn.jpg

Overall, I really liked this book and can't wait to read the rest. Good thing it won't take that long though.

Noah Sloan & Amelia London are two child stars that spent most their childhood together acting. Now in their 20's they are both needing to make a comeback & kick their careers back into gear. They both audition for a film shooting in Chicago called Sinners Like Us, & both get the part. Amelia is freaking out she will have to see Noah again.

 photo 0EB387A7-EA45-4D2F-8C22-10932320CAEA_zpspudzftde.jpg

-All of my best memories were of him...of us.

-God help me. I wanted...I wanted to be back in his arms. I wanted the Amelia he whispered about.

Sinners Like Us is an erotica film that is out of Amelia's comfort zone, but she's tired of being seen as America's sweetheart, & is excited to do something new. Her enthusiasm is short lived when she comes face to face with Noah. He broke her heart years ago, and she's never gotten over him. Old feelings start to reignite when they spend time together on set. We find out not everything is what it seems with Hollywood's bad boy, & that he doesn't think he's good enough for Amelia. They eventually open up more to each other & we get some delicious sexy times! :D

-Everyone thinks you are this good girl, Amelia, but I know a side of you that no one else could ever know.

-"I need you." "You have me." She'd always had me.

-"You'll always be burned into my mind, stitched to my soul, and the owner of my heart."

4.25 Children of Hollywood Stars

Our relationship was doomed from the start. The only love that lasts in Hollywood is the one we fake and sell to others.”

Whoa, my mind's still reeling. After reading a few books written by J.J. McAvoy, there are two things I can safely say with absolute certainty. One, the sex is going to start off hot as hell and angry in the most delicious way possible. Two, just when you think you have things figured out, Ms. McAvoy is going to drop a bomb or two and you'll be left with the realization you don't know shite! Childstar 1 is no exception.

Amelia London and Noah Sloan grew up together on set as child actors and to say their history is a complicated one would be an understatement. Noah ended up breaking Amelia's heart in a very public manner and ten years later she still hasn't let it go. Noah's managed to outgrow the childstar label and has made a name for himself as the misunderstood bad boy, while Amelia's still trying to find success as an adult aged actress. Fate steps in, shoes are thrown and the two find themselves co-stars once again.

“You remember that? How I’d bury myself deep inside you, how loud you were for me, how you used to ride me, your lips parted, sweat dripping down all over you? Everyone thinks you are this good girl, Amelia, but I know a side of you that no one else could ever know. Not even with this movie.”

The love/hate romances are my favorite. Call me a freak but all of that intensity and anger makes for some serious hotness. Luckily the pressures faced by young actors, both familial and industry related, are also introduced and began to lay the foundation for a deeper story. And the revelations that hit at the end of this installment...DAMN!

Woah! This short read packed a solid punch. Usually when it comes to these short serial, I hate that the author will be dangling the goods in front of me, but not let me eat them. But thank goodness J. J. McAvoy isn't that cruel. Trust me, she won't leave you with lady blue balls or keep you in the dark with a stupid cliffhanger. I love that she ended it something I can hold on to.

As per the title, the story revolves around two childstars who are now grown up to be quite a disappointment. Amelia London is trying to maintain her good girl image, while Noah Sloan is maintaining a bad boy image. Both of them used to be each other first love. Now they can't even stand to see each other eye to eye, so how the fuck are they going survive in the same movie.

But the main event is not whether are they gonna bang each other again. There is a whole other kind of craziness happening in the background that lead to their break up in the first place. I'm bracing myself for more of JJ's kind of bizarreness coming up. Can't fucking wait.

When J.J. McAvoy writes a book, you can always count myself in! This young lady got me addicted to her books in less than a year.

Childstar is going to be a 3 part serial and good thing we already got all the dates because I try to stay away from serials. My memory is shitty lately so I try to refrain from books when they are not all out

Here we have Amelia London and Noah Sloan, both movie star involved in a new movie but also two people who have a personal history together.
Noah cheated on Amelia and that left her heart broken and a little bit bitter.

Now they are meant to play a kinky couple who's madly in love.

"Five minutes with Noah, and I was already acting like a crazy person. Whenever he was around, even when we were kids, I always lost it."

How Amelia is supposed to hide her feelings? Because it's obvious she is not over him
How Noah is supposed to keep his co-star away when he craves her touch?

"Even after all of these years, Amelia London was still my kryptonite, and she still didn’t know it"

Once again J.J. McAvoy takes us in a story and you have NO IDEA where this is going. I wasn't even sure an HEA was in the card for them.

Noah is such an asshole at the beginning it's hard to see what his true feelings are.
I've loved the aspect of two movie stars who have to act in a film and get close because of it, especially when these two seems to avoid each other at all cost!

Their feelings intertwine with the characters they play. It's sometimes hard to distinguish reality from acting.

Of course there's a cliffhanger at the end but it's just what you need to keep you ready for the next installment.

So beautifully written, so unbelievably good...

OMG...Noah! He's so rude, and you'd think he would come across vulgar but instead it just makes him super sexy and makes you all hot and bothered. And, Amelia...sweet and innocent, the American good girl.

These two were child stars, favorite child actors when they were kids, award winners, teenager idols. Both Noah and Amelia were successful child stars that made a great career for themselves after their initial burst of stardom. But, now, they are all grown up and have fallen out of the spotlight. They had been teen lovers but they got through a bad break up, leaving Amelia with plenty of unanaswered questions. They both haven't transitioned successfully into adult roles and need a new role to boost their career.

Noah has the bad-boy reputation for his partying and drug use and Amelia needs to lose her good girl image to a grown up actress. The chance is given through playing the co-leads in the upcoming erotic suspense blockbuster—Sinners Like Us. The sexual tension in this part of the story is through the roof. Amelia does loosen up and becomes braver and more liberated as the story goes.

The ending was a great surprise, I forsee a lot of drama in the second part. On and off through the whole thing I'm thinking that Noah is such a jerk but at the same time feeling that he's totally justified in his actions. The author has left us with a cliffhanger that will have me grabbing the second part as quick as I can. I'm giving this one a sizzling 5 Stars!!

★★★ 3 Stars ★★★

Book 1 in a three part serial, Childstar is a quick and steamy read that introduces us to Hollywood actors, Amelia London & Noah Sloan.

Amelia and Noah have been actors since they were kids and used to work together on a show back in the day. They also had a relationship which ended when Noah cheated on 16 year old Amelia and he publicly humiliated her.

Now, many years later they have been cast together in a movie which they are both hoping will propel their careers into a more serious and adult direction. Trouble is, they have a lot of unresolved issues that need addressing, and added to bad boy Noah's anxiety and Amelia's overbearing mother, they have a lot to deal with outside of their explosive chemistry between the sheets.

I enjoyed it for the most part, but I am undecided whether or not I am that invested in the characters to continue on with the next 2 books.

Told in dual POV, this is part one of three short books.

Short And Steamy

The first in a series of serials, this book definitely left me wanting more. I devoured this super short book! The story was addicting and had my complete attention.

The main characters are two grown-up child stars, on the brink of being "has-beans". Each of them needs their role, in what is bound to be the next box office sensation, in order to reinvigorate their careers. They have to make it work, and that means they have to work together regardless of their tumultuous history.

Immediately, these two are at each other's throats. Unable to decide if they'd rather get it on or kill one another, they definitely kept it entertaining. Eventually, their attraction gets the best of them.

Of course, it couldn't be that simple! This book gives new meaning to bad stage parents. Holy hell, their parents are nutso!

Big secrets are revealed at the end, keeping us all hanging on to see how things will play out for these two. I am looking forward to the next serial, which is due to be released in a few short days. I'm so glad that this author doesn't plan to drag this out for months and months as well. Kudos for that!

“If I didn’t act, who would I be?”

I don’t know how to start this because all I can actually think about is the ending of this serial, oh yes, this is a novel published in serial format and listed is the date of when it is going to be published so be warned:
Childstar 1: October 27, 2015
Childstar 2: November 10, 2015
Childstar 3: November 17, 2015
Childstar full novel: November 24, 2015

So, Noah and Amelia, both childstars who grew up in the limelight, been to many projects together, fallen in love, broke up, and after 10yrs, they are going to star in a new film. Oh you get the gist. But hell, that’s not just it.

I can’t really describe Noah and Amelia individually because to be honest, I didn’t pay much attention. I was sucked through the novel and I just realized I was already enjoying reading. The connection between the characters was palpable there’s no way you can’t miss it. Plus, I can’t separate them, they are two beings glued together and I see them as one. Their personality and character are, more than they can imagine, alike each other. It’s just I can’t see the line where Noah ends and Amelia begins.

My most favorite scene was mostly everything. It’s really hard to choose but if you insist, well, it’s that audition scene of Amelia to be casted for the role, or that time of their first taping, nah go back a bit because the photoshoot was hot as fuck, too. Oh, that time at the front of the painting, or that voice over. Seriously, the list is endless. Can I just highlight the whole book now? Oh, and lastly, but most of all, quite disturbing actually, was the ending. That was some serious shit, I tell you.

I love love love the novel. I mean, I love the book. Did I say it already? Okay, let me just say it one more time in case you miss it the first time. I love the book. Well done, Ms. McAvoy! Well done!

But to be honest, I have a major major issue I have with this book. I mean I was scrolling through the pages and then bam! What the heck? It ended already? Fuck fuckity fuck. Godfuckingdammit! Where’s the rest of the book? Because fuck it all to hell! I need it now! Like right fucking now! I mean it! I want the rest of the book! Hear me? I need it now! Lol okay, shouting done, calming now. But I mean it, I can’t wait!!

“ You’ll always be burned into my mind, stitched to my soul, and the owner of my heart…”

*ARC graciously provided in exchange for an honest review*

Loved the storyline! Two child stars all grown up now with a history between them. They struggle and fight against their feelings for each other. This was spot on Hollywood drama! It was super fast paced and I wish it slowed down a bit so I can feel more empathy with the characters, but either way this is an exciting read and with that cliffhanger I'm excited to see how it will end!

Wow! Just Wow! This is the first part of a three part series and I loved it! All three books will be released as a full novel for those of you who want to wait, but why would you? This was an awesome start.

Amelia London is America's sweetheart. While this has been a positive title growing up in front of everyone she's ready to do something different. Her agent Ollie has lined up an audition for her for a movie called Sinners Like Us. In many ways it's like Twilight or Fifty Shades of Grey because it's based off of a book that has a massive fan following. This could be the change she's looking for except...yes, you guessed it...her ex, Noah, has been cast for the leading male role.

Noah Sloan went from child sweetheart to America's bad boy and he's okay with that. He's perfect for the part in this new movie. Even the fans of the book have already cast him as the leading man in every pole.

Noah and Amelia were a couple for a little while in their teens, but they haven't seen each other for ten years, that is until now. Noah comes face-to-face with Amelia on her way to her audition. When she tells him what movie she's there for he doesn't think she can play the part and tells her so before walking away. Her audition was spectacular. I loved that he pissed her off so much that she took off her shoe and threw it at him. Yes, a shoe! Fortunately, the unresolved feelings they have for one another lets them fall into their roles easily and deliver stellar performances.

It just gets better and better from here. I love second chance romances and dual POVs and I got both with this book. I don't want to spoil anything, but the cliffy was huge! I did not see that one coming. I can't wait to find out what is going to happen next.

I loved every part of this book. It was so good that I already wish there was a real movie for this book and I don't even know how it's going to end. Hurry up November!! This was my first read by J.J. McAvoy and I can say that I'm officially a fan. I can't wait to read more by her. I highly recommend this book!

The publication dates are:

CHILD STAR: Part 1 - publication date 10/27/15
CHILD STAR: Part 2 - publication date 11/10/15
CHILD STAR: Part 3 - publication date 11/17/15
CHILD STAR: Full novel - publication date 11/24/15

I read this in one sitting, once I started I just couldn't put it down. I keep reading J.J. McAvoy's books and thinking, "Wow this is her best book yet! I can't imagine how she's going to top this" and then she freaking turns around and more then tops it. She hits it out of the freaking park! She is amazingly talented and if you haven't read any of her books yet, you should drop everything and pick up one of her books right now. Doesn't matter which one because they are all THAT good.

Lets talk Amelia and Noah now. I don't actually read the many actor/actress books, and the fact that they're actually childstars is really what interested me and drew me in. Amelia and Noah were both childstars that acted together in their youth and even dated when they were teens. Fast forward a few years and they are both actors whose careers have dried up and they can't stand to be around each other. They both end up staring lovers in the next big book adaption of a romance. Even though in this first part and we only get a small portion of the movie world, I loved the acting scenes and I thought that the accurate portrayal of how crazy fans can get when a book gets adapted was fun to read. Especially since I'm often guilty of being one of those hard to please fans lol.

I really loved Amelia and Noah, they had off the charts chemistry. Now this is a serial so because of that they do develop of relationship relatively quickly but since they had a pre-existing relationship I didn't feel like anything was rushed. I found Noah particularly interesting. We start with a very firm imagine of him and then by the end of this book he has really shown us so many more levels to him. I liked Amelia too, she was really funny and I also liked how sweet and sassy she was. I'm interested in seeing how she handles herself in the next book.

I won't go into to much more detail so I don't spoil anything, but I am definitely more then excited to read the rest of this series!

☆ I received an ARC via the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!! ☆

“The only love that lasts in Hollywood is the one we fake and sell to others.”

Childstar 1 entails of two former child stars and ex first loves, and their growth through pressuring careers, second chance romances, dodgy home situations, and other joys and woes of adulthood.

“I’ve spent my life moving from movie set as the cute, adorable, America’s sweetheart—Amelia Landon. But today marks my twenty-fifth birthday, halfway to thirty. I am now officially too old to be called “cutie,” and on top of that, my career is about to come to a flaming end if I don’t do something drastic.”

Now at a crossroads and a standstill in both of their careers, America’s golden girl and Hollywood’s bad boy, are about to be put into the biggest roles of their lives that can make or completely break them--- but can they separate what’s real and what’s left on screen? Sometimes passions run brighter on and off regardless. And with supporters and oppositions against them, how will everything turn out? Lights, camera, action, ladies and gents.

So, this being a goodbye departure from Ms. McAvoy’s previous works, this has had to be my biggest risk taker and greatest reward. Why, you may ask? Well, if I’m being totally honest with myself, I was originally going to skip over this read due to it seeming like any typical Hollywood book plotline. That is, until, I kept coming across my goodreads feed from fellow buddy bloggers, raving on and on about how great this book really was, that finally got me to change my mind and pique my interest. From there, I just had to get my hands on this read and see what it was all about, and I’m glad I did!!

Thank you, JJ McAvoy, for approving my ARC request and giving me a fresh, alluring, and innovative read with a sexy and also dangerous twist!! Gah, I love, LOVED this!! I’m definitely sticking around for more! For a novella, it throttled on all cylinders, was evocative, and packed a punch!! Certainly, what I was looking to get me out of my recent book rut!! I'm literally now itching for bk2 already!!! *gah!!*

“Even after all of these years, Amelia London was still my kryptonite, and she didn’t know it.”
