Every beach house designer faces similar constraints and small lots, low-key street facades, enclosed sidewalls, narrow paths to the ocean, and glass-walled and terraced oceanfronts. Photographer Melba Levick has dramatically captured the California beach house in its enviable seaside context and has focused on interiors that bring the sights and sounds of the ocean into the home by way of glass walls, open courtyards, terraces, and towers.

This is a 30 year old book I bought at a library sale, so who knows what the current state of any of these houses is (the ones in Palos Verdes might currently be falling into the ocean). Very nice photography, and as always the houses range from really cool to somewhat bizarre to could-be-mistaken-for-an-airport-terminal.
