Discover the explosive secrets that are hiding in Agent May's past! When Agent May leads a team of new recruits on a training mission, will she be able to save the day when everything goes wrong? Did someone say "cyber wolves"?
Melinda May is an Agent of SHIELD. She has a nickname and a reputation she wants no part of that just won't stop following her. May is taking Cadet's on a training mission and of course something has to go wrong.
So these SHIELD 50th anniversary comics are really on for the biggest fans of SHIELD. They are just short snippets on various characters. If you didn't know the character before you won't know much more about them afterward. Melinda May was first seen on the TV show Marvel's Agents of SHIELD. The show has joined the comics ranks as well and this is a story all about May.
The Calvary SHIELD 50th anniversary is fine it plays up the legend of the Calvary as Melinda hates being called.
It was OK. Nothing particularly extraordinary to be honest - other than nice to see more women in Marvel in general and SHIELD specifically. Not sure I would bother continuing the series as it really didn't stand out but I wouldn't mind reading more either.
I don:t think this has anything to do with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D the T.V. show but that's the only knowledge I have of Agent May. I love her in that and I think this was a very similar character.
I don't know why it didn't bother me as much in SHIELD 8 (Maybe because Medina's art is already so stylized, while Ross is more comics-typical), but the fact that May looks like she's 19, tops, bugs the shit out of me in this one. They could really take a page from Epting's Velvet about how to draw a beautiful woman who looks her damn age.
Wish it was a bit longer and went into a bit more detail but it was a fun and quick short. Not really understandable if you don't watch the tv show and know of May's background already, but if you are a fan of the show it is a fun add on.
giving 3 because this is may's, she's my favorite so i was expecting something big from her but it felt like something was missing. loved the ending tho.
