The kids really liked all the books in this series from about 6 months to a little over 2 years but this book was by far the favorite (my guess is because he had a stuffed foxed in his crib and not because it is necessarily better or worse than the other books in the series). There was a period of months where we would read this book every night. It has a nice touch and feel portion on each page and the book only has a little text. They liked to try and find the little mouse on each page too (which isn't really part of the book).

As we (the parents) got tired of reading the same thing every night, we started to make up our own larger story to go with the book that involved the fox and mouse playing hide and seek. We would even have him count to 10 with us as the mouse went to hide.

We read this book so much we even dressed them up as a fox (2 year old) and a mouse (5 month old) for Halloween.

This is a very cute, very short board book that introduces young readers to the concepts of "fluffy, smooth, fuzzy, and rough" textures. Each texture has its own page in the board book, with small portions of the cardboard replaced by materials that correspond with that texture. It's a great book for toddlers and children who made need modified exposure to certain textures.

She enjoys these touchy feely books hugely and this one was read in a cafe, borrowed from the pool of toys and books which belonged to her and all her friends. She explored all the pages with her little hands still sort of covered in butternut squash and blueberry juice. Hopefully we managed to clean it all off properly!

A slightly above average "touch and feel" book. Too often they try to go rogue with some of the textures, or the story is shoddy but this one at least has a theme and narrative flow, with lots of fluffy bits. Not terribly dynamic, but engaging enough.

Standard for all the ‘Thats not my’. Favourite is still that’s not my baby.

R liked holding tonight’s in her hand and smacking herself in the face with it though so there’s that xx

This rates as one of my favourite "That's Not my..." books so far. I'm not sure if it was just the allure of the fox (it's quite foxy after all) or just that it's the first one of the series my son has has really kept reaching for time and time again just due to his age perhaps. But he particularly loved the soft back. I did have to watch him with the tail though as he wanted to keep pulling the hairs out, just like when he sees a cat or dog!

It's a cute book, but it wasn't a huge success for my 9 month old. She liked the fluffy tail and scratchy nose, but the drawings didn't hold her attention. I can't wait until she's just a bit older to better appreciate it and so we may find the mouse together!

I fear that foxes have little variety of things that can identify them from one another. No bumpy hubcaps here.

But I like foxes and this box is cute
