I think the book start giving us a summary of the 9/11 and the beginning of the Iraq war, this make me understand more bout the whole history of the wars and all that. that's all I read but I really liked from the beginning so I will keep reading it.

"Lessons learned: As we observed in Vietnam, if prisoners of war are treated better by their captors than by their own leaders, the fear of surrender is eliminated. Thumbscrews and cattle prods are less effective than a kind word and a full belly" -Don Lomax

"Lessons learned: The Pentagon hated the coverage they got during Vietnam. After Grenada, The Falklands and Panama, the Brass learned that suppressing the news and putting a "goodness and light" spin on everything keeps public opinion in their corner." -Don Lomax

A thorough and balanced summary of the 1st Gulf War, Don Lomax put so much heart and soul into this book that I feel bad for wishing the art was better. Having a personal and fictional approach to this event by telling the story through the eyes of a seasoned war reporter really help move this historical book forward. I am grateful for his efforts to bring many of the details of those events to our attention.
