Vapor is the most advanced cyborg the Humanoid Alliance has ever developed. He’s a finely honed weapon, a warrior without parallel, half man and half machine. No lock can contain him. No being can stop him. Whatever he wants, he takes.
He wants Mira Breazeal, the Designer’s daughter.
She’s his one temptation, his sexy target. Vapor shouldn’t crave her caresses, steal her kisses, make her scream with ecstasy. The cyborgs want her dead and they would question his loyalty if he didn’t kill her. The humans would shoot him on sight if he dared to touch her.
Their love is forbidden. Their desire could be lethal. One human and one cyborg will risk everything for a moment of passion.
Breathing Vapor is Book 2 in the Cyborg Sizzle series and is a STANDALONE story. It is also a dark BBW Cyborg SciFi Romance.

The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: 💙🖤💜❤️ Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘 World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍 Character development: 😟🤭😤😘🥰
The heroine:Mira - she is the daughter of the designer, the mastermind behind the whole cyborg program. When she was small, she tried everything to get her father to love her, but nothing worked. As a child she saw how the world worked when her mother was betrayed and killed by those around her. She knew from that time how she needed to act. In reality, she had a soft, warm heart but she knows that is what got her mother killed, so instead she became Mira the Merciless.
The Hero:Vapor - he is a K model cyborg. The most advanced cyborgs in existence, the K models looked like humans with tan skin rather than the grey skin that usually designated them as cyborgs. Vapor was the most lethal of all the K models. He was built for battle and is as stealthy as any expert assassin.
The Story: Mira knows how she has to act in public and in front of the Humanoid Alliance. She has to pretend to be as cold-hearted and cruel as her father and the worst of the guards. Though she never outrightly tortures any being, she has the sharpest tongue of anyone and uses it to show her dominance.
While behind the scenes Mira does what she can to help. She berates any cyborg who is not up tho their grueling standards, and in doing so, often saves them from a beating by Hun, the final stage trainer. Also, she often sells cyborgs to offworlders for credits and in doing that saves them from decommissioning. Though the cyborgs don’t see it that way, they see it as her avarice for the credits, and think the only reason she sells those slated for decommission is because nobody will miss those cyborgs and she can get away with it.
When the cyborgs start planning an escape, they want to kill all their tormentors, but they can’t because if they kill everyone, then the Humanoid Alliance will think K models are dangerous to humans and will decommission all K models in other sectors. So, they decide to kill one person to get their revenge. They can’t kill Hun because he would just be replaced within days, they can’t kill the designer because the anti-cyborg contingent within the Humanoid Alliance will think they have won, and all cyborgs will be decommissioned.
The cyborgs decide on Mira the Merciless, not only because they hate her but because they think her death will hurt the designer. Vapor is chosen to make sure Mira deserves death as some cyborgs see the things she does as not so bad, since she is saving some from being decommissioned and from harsh punishments. Vapor has always been attracted to Mira and he thinks of her as his woman, so he knows if she is deserving of death then he must be the one to kill her.
I have really liked every one of Cynthia Sax’s Cyborg books I have read so far. The different series are all set in the same world, though each book has its own separate yet intricate storyline. I have read a bunch of them so far and not all in order, but I really like the idea of cyborgs. They are sentient beings, basically just enhanced humans, fighting to be treated as more than just machines. It is a good base for any story and there is always a ton of action and adventure, steamy liaisons and they have something similar to fated mates. What more could you want?
I also love that cyborgs can do so many things that regular humans can’t, like talk to each other through transmissions where humans can’t hear them. They are super strong, have long lives, are self healing for the most part, and much more. This story had the added conflict of the fact that Mira’s public persona was so terrible (or should I say Merciless?). It made for a good story and made her a very strong and intelligent heroine.
Mira was a natural liar. She lied so much that it was sometimes hard for her to distinguish the truth. Her lies were meant to protect. Her lies were spoken in order to save lives. Her biggest lie was the mask she wore of Mira The Merciless. She had cultivated a cold and lethal armor to protect her and those she cared about from the Human Alliance. And only one being threatened her cool resolve... Vapor. He lurked in shadows, following her around, destined to kill her because what was one more human life really worth? But Vapor and his comrades would soon find out the truths behind Mira's lies and together they would be stronger than they ever could have been apart.
When I'm looking for something to bring me out of a funk, something to read that will titillate my senses and give me thrills and tons of entertainment, I've found that the worlds that Cynthia Sax has created more than do the trick. There's the edge of your seat action, the intense chemistry and hot sex between the main characters, and a plethora of side characters I can't wait to learn more about. With Breathing Vapor, I found myself glued to the pages, unable to let go, even when I got to the end. These characters not only suffer, they suffer greatly. The horrors they face and have faced are tremendous. But I'm in love with the way this author builds up their triumphs. I feel like I'm a part of each of their wins. I'm off to read the next book, Crash and Burn because I cannot get enough of these cyborgs and their fight for freedom.
This installment in the series improved 110%! I very much enjoyed this story. It had a higher amount of depth, it didn't rely on shock and abuses on women to lead the story.
We got to meet the designer (who I'm kinda hoping ends up donzo at the end of this series). Which builds on the world and what we are dealing with as a whole. We have humanity like a plague on the universe. And if you don't agree with their demented plans you are committing treason. Wow! Talk about using current issues and actual human ideas to drive fiction. It's actually kinda brilliant.
I didn't think this story was as erotic heavy. The characters were able to establish a little better. I actual believe Mrs. Sax does a fantastic job at character development. She wrote each character with great definition.
Having read the previous book Releasing Rage I just had to find out what happens next in this world Ms Sax has created. There's a war going on and the cyborgs are slap bang in the middle of it all but the humans who abuse them have no idea just how advanced this new generation of cyborgs really are. Vapor is probably the biggest and baddest with a kill record that few can emulate but like his brethren he has no intention of remaining a weapon for those who see him as just a machine. The cyborgs target their creators daughter Mira as they believe that cold obnoxious female deserves to die but first of all Vapor needs to discover all her secrets. Mira the Merciless is the name they whisper when she walks by but Mira is not exactly the piece of ice that the world perceives. No she has closed herself off, shut down her feelings and all so she can put right the terrible wrongs that her own father the Designer allows to happen. Yet Vapor is about to threaten not just her life but everything she has worked for and Mira may not care if she lives or dies but her mission is worth everything. Problem is Vapor is everything Mira needs and the connection they share is undeniable but passion is not enough to a cyborg honestly , loyalty and integrity mean so much more. So will Vapor complete his task and neutralise Mira? I pick up a book by this author and I know I'm guaranteed a very hot read. I really liked that this book is set on a planet and not just in space as it opens up the world that the author has created. We get to see the much bigger picture as action scenes pepper this book involving both the Humanoid Alliance and those who resist. I will point out here that this book has violent and dark scenes that are not pleasant. However it was very obvious that poor Vapor was probably the last person/cyborg to take Mira out of the picture as right from the start he is uber protective of her . Yes he is one possessive and dare I say obsessed male? Mira might be attracted to the big lug but she is not one to open up easily and her years of playing a part are not simply cast aside. She is brave, much kinder than she appears but in public sharper than diamonds. I thought Ms Sax did a remarkable job of showing just how deep and at times fragile Mira really was . If I have any niggles it's just that I'm not a huge fan of spanking and there is a lot of that in this story but that's just a personal thing and I'm sure other readers will enjoy the slightly more heated scenes. Bottom line ( pun intended ) for me is this erotic story has left me wanting to find out just what happens next and just how far the authors imagination is prepared to go on this journey with her very sexy cyborgs I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review Four and a half from me
The cyborgs seek revenge by kidnapping their designer’s daughter, Mira the Merciless. Complications result when she’s not all that she appears and Vapor begins to fall for her. Another winning, sizzling read by Cynthia Sax. If you love cyborgs, grab this one.
There were enough sexy times that pushed my buttons in the first installment of this series that I thought it would be worth it to keep going. I had mixed feelings about that book, but I had hoped that my personal problems with it might be limited to that particular storyline. In one big way, it was. But I found that too many other issues persisted to jump right in to book three after this.
Breathing Vapor features an entirely new set of cyborgs than the first installment did. Though the world is the same, the characters have all been reset. The plot, however, largely mirrors its predecessor. A group of warrior cyborgs who wants to escape their evil human jailers and join their brethren on the exclusively cyborg planet, Homeworld. As the others were, the cyborgs are badly mistreated and want to kill every human they meet. In the end, they decide against that because it might draw too much attention to the cyborg ability to rebel. And many of their brothers would be decommissioned. So they agree to pick just one human to focus their rage on and make it look like an accident.
The leading candidate is Mira, daughter of the designer of all cyborgs. She is as mean as can be, and though no one has ever seen her physically abuse a cyborg, her tongue lashings are legend. Vapor is the strongest of the group and just so happens to be drawn to her. He considers her his female, but he will investigate to see if she is worthy of death and will do the deed if necessary.
Of course Mira is not who she seems. She puts on her icy persona to keep herself above suspicion among humans while she helps the cyborgs in small ways. So instead of Vapor killing her, his desire for her only grows.
The premise is fine. It’s not even terrible that it is so much like the first book. What I did not enjoy were the continuing Dom/sub themes. It may even be worse here, because now spanking is involved. And Vapor has sex with Mira in front of one of his friends to teach her a lesson. I am not about all that, y’all. I know plenty of readers are, and if this is your cuppa tea, jump right into these books; you might love them. For me, though, it is a huge turn off.
Even if that does not persist throughout the series, it’s clear that the Insta nature of these relationships will. That, and the heroine begging the hero to fill her with his nanocybotics. There is a guilty pleasure thread, but I found myself cringing more than enjoying the campy sexiness of it all. Largely, because this brand of sexy is just not for me.
There is a decent side plot that delves into the good deeds Mira is trying to do and some heartbreak for her as it does not all come together. But at the end of the day, what this really is about is the joining of her with her cyborg.
This series get such great reviews and if my hangups aren’t yours, you may enjoy them too. I’m just not sure they’re right for me.
I didn't like this as much as the first book but it was still good.
Vapor is a very advanced cyborg model. Mira is the Designer's daughter and quite a bitch.
What people don't know is that Mira's merciless front is just a mask. She uses her lies and connections to help save cyborgs slated for decommissioning.
The sex was a bit over the top for me...felt a little fake.
In the Cyborg Sizzle universe, the Human Alliance have been producing cyborgs, who they believe to be just machines, to fight their wars, carry out their atrocities all whilst abusing them in the all the terrible ways you can think of. After all, they’re just machines right? Wrong. The cyborgs are more than just machines and they will get them and their brethren out from the control of the evil Human Alliance to live their lives in freedom. And, when they find that special woman? She’s coming right along with them.
1 review…11 books – 8 full length and 3 novellas – normally I would do an individual review for each book, however, I read all of these in quick succession and I wanted to save you from essentially reading the same review 11 times. The review goes something like this: Me Love Sexy Cyborgs. Repeat. As well as this, the books all followed a very similar pattern, made very apparent by the fact that I literally read them one after another, which is an endorsement in itself. However, before you have gotten a few pages in you essentially know exactly what is going to happen when, but that didn’t stop me from coming along for the ride anyways.
Like in all series, I had my favourites, my absolute favourite being Ghost of a Machine, and I had the ones I didn’t gel quite so well with. But, as each book gave me a sexy cyborg to lust over I was happy with each instalment. And dayum them cyborgs…they know how to get a lady all hot and bothered. Whether it’s by their clueless adoration, their sexy dirty talk or the mad oral skills they somehow managed to pick up I was a goner for each one of them.
So, if like me you enjoy s sexy sci-fi romance story – heavy on the sexy romance, light on the story – these books are a lot of fun. The cyborgs in it are both sweet and intense and the heroines run the gamut from sweet and submissive, sassy and impulsive, brainiacs and badasses. Now, that I have read everything out I am now itching to get my hands on the next in the series!
P.S. last time I checked Releasing Rage the first book in the series and all the novellas were free on Amazon.
There were adorable childrens! I liked this one less than the first one though. But suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper looking forward to reading the next book in the series!!!!!
3.5 Stars After reading the first book in this series and loving it, I have to admit, I had high expectations for this book. I was expecting to fall in love with it immediately and not want to put it down… which, unfortunately, was not the case. There was just something missing from this book. It didn’t grab me like the first book did and I ended up skim reading the last 30% or so. I’m hoping the next book will be better, but I just don’t know.
I'm pretty much hardcore loving on these cyborgs. Their existence is hard and brutal, they see no compassion from the humans who have enslaved them, and yet they manage to find a way to flourish and plan for a day when they'll be free. I'm seriously curious about how the other cyborgs in captivity will fare as these groups break out. I want to see this. I WANT IT!
But let's talk about Vapor and Mira, shall we? Vapor is...complicated. He sees a job that has to be done and he's determined to do it to advance the cause. But Mira isn't the cold-hearted woman she pretends to be and Vapor has all those pesky emotions bubbling up whenever she's around. As much as he prizes honesty, he has to come to terms with Mira's many lies and half-truths. Because she has reasons for why she does what she does. Reasons that make sense.
Steamy, dangerous, and just what I was looking for when I picked this one up. I'm loving these rough and ready cyborgs something fierce. They're willing to extract bloody revenge from those who have hurt them just as easily as they're eager to show their ladies how hard a cyborg can love. *slow thumbs up*
hmm... virgin cyborg, not alien, but i don't want to add more shelves, until i organize the ones i haev (which will be....never :|).
i like the h! the double role, trying to save people, and adopting a cruel demeanor.
uh... some things i have problems with: sex in front of others (other cyborgs); less dom/sub thing going on, but a lot of time focused on just sex... which gets annoying. and the tailor and her daughter really did die! i expected the daughter to have been found alive... *sad* plot driven sad deaths, but too much violence, killing and too over the top everything.
Still, good, fun read. Maybe 4 stars. Maybe slightly more. Leaving it at 5 for now.
Entertaining continuation in the series, but this could be read as a standalone. Vapor, the dogs bollocks of all cyborgs falls for Mira, the designers daughter. Mira is the merciless with a wicked tongue and hateful demeanour - but this is all a cover to make amends for her mother's death and helping save the cyborgs from being decommissioned.
Vapour eventually sees through the lies and deception and amongst a rebel uprising on the nearest planet, they work together to free the 400 or so cyborgs to find the "homeland" planet and pursue a dream of adopting those children lost in war.
I enjoyed this more than the first book and like the developing world building. I'm excited to read Ace and Thrasher's story!
The H is cyborg and the h is the daughter of his designer. Cyborgs believe her to be evil, but she's trying in her own way to help them escape. He's wants her and needs to punish her. It's not a comfortable relationship for either of them. This is really a sad story, lots of death and danger, and neither of the characters were very likeable. Good science fantasy but too sad for romance, and I struggled to finish.
Sexy, bloody, emotional. Exactly how I like a Cynthia Sax story
This story was so good! It had heartbreaking moments, scenes of intense sexy times, and some excellent battles. I absolutely adore these cyborgs and wish I could have one of my own ❤️ Mira is such a complex character, with deep deep deep emotional scars, but is absolutely perfect for the hard, unwavering Vapor.
I really enjoy Cynthia Sax's cyborgs. This particular installment is not my favorite. Vapor is great but I never really connected with Mina the Merciless.
Another SCORCHING cyborg story from Cynthia Sax even better than the last if that is even possible lol. Vapour and Mira were just AMAZING together their chemistry was off the charts, their passion SIZZLING and fan yourself HOT! Vapours character was sooooo alpha male and dominant I just LOVED IT, he was a SEXY AS HELL warrior, badass with just the right amount of fright to him that it just TURNED YOU ON. His feelings toward his leading lady were wonderful to see as he got to know and trust her eventually seeing the real her, his PASSION towards her was FIRE INGNITING his love palpable a true romance. Mira was an awesome woman, badass in her own right, taking risks to her life on a daily basis to help the cyborgs while protraying her 'bitch' persona showed just how much of a kickass female she really was..... courageous and brave a female heroine to make you proud, a delight of a character to read. I just loved their story and would recommend it to anyone who loves their sci-fi with loads of passion and action thrown in!!!
Cynthia Sax has done it again. I didn't think I could fall for Cyborgs or their stories but she has a way of making you feel so intensely for them. Like with Rage I also fell for Vapor and his willingness to go with his gut and see beneath the cold surface of Mira. I can't wait to read more of this world!
I love how merciless Mira has a heart under all that coldness. It is heart-wrenching learning about her past and how she is trying to do the right thing. Vapor is all alpha and sexy cyborg. FULL REVIEW: http://thetbrpile.weebly.com/reviews/...
Another "forced" romance that could be so much better. Vapor's hot and cold treatment toward Mira and Mira who couldn't make up her mind is classic troop and I enjoyed it. Could be better though! But overall I liked this book and I can't wait to read book 3.
3.7 stars rounded up to 4 for Mira and Vapor’s forbidden love. I really enjoyed parts of this book, especially once we saw behind Mira’s “mask of mercilessness” consistently. However, the masked mean girl thing will never be 100% my vibe. 😬😩 Mira was so strong, she was resilient, and had to be cruel in order to rescue cyborgs and humans alike. Vapor and his fellow cyborgs meanwhile were clueless to this and contemplated murdering her. 😅🙃buuut our guy Vapor had been stalking her for a whileeee. I liked that he considered Mira his from the beginning!
What I liked: -cyborg x human romance 🦾💪🏼 I’m in my machine lover phase obviously 💁🏻♀️ -thicker than a snicker heroine 👏🏼this author writes plus size heroines so well ♥️ their bodies are never their entire story -traumatized heroine who was still competent. Mira watched her mom die due to being a member in the underground resistance, saving others resulted in Mira’s mom’s death. Yet Mira was never held back by fear, she was brave and found strategic ways to free cyborgs slotted for decommissioning or freeing children on colonized planets 😭😭😭 -the spicy scenes were 🥵 there is one scene where Vapor is disciplining Mira and then pleasures her in front of another cyborg. It was a whole vibe 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ -the world building. The planet the factory is on is colonized by the alliance that created cyborgs. Colonization’s portrayal was not sugar coated and I truly appreciated this facet of the story. -Mira being baby crazy 😂 girl sameeee -Vapor literally sacrificing his back for Mira and constantly wanting to protect her from pain, while also being a total machine daddyyyyy 💅 -when Mira thought Vapor had left but he was waiting for her at the big cyborg sleeping area 😭😭 Vaporrrr you scared me 😂 -the ending was exactly as it should’ve been 👏🏼
What I didn’t like: -the mean girl scenes were hard to stomach, and a lot of the times Mira made it worse by being stubborn to hell 😅 like girrrl just tell the cyborgs why you’re “selling them” 🙄 -Mira lies a lot, and yes it’s strategic/a mask she wears, but girrrrl I hate lying 😬 I will say this fit the heroines personality well, and this comes down to personal preference over execution -the epilogue is HFN and I was really hoping we’d see HEA like Rage and Joan’s book 😭
FAQ: Third person POV with plenty of POVs from both characters No OW drama, Mira is literally the only human woman Vapor’s ever seen for a while 😂 and that’s how we like it 👏🏼 No OM drama Virgin hero Pregnancy implied in epilogue No third act breakup HFN
TLDR; Obsessed with this series 😤 but the first book in the series is still my favorite 😅. This one is definitely worth the read if machine daddies have you in a chokehold like they do me 😂
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Just like the first one(and probably just like all the others in this series), you have some mistreated cyborgs being used to fight some vague war in some vague time, for some vague reason.
You have the main cyborg character of the book(because you have to), who's name is Vapor. Vapor is the most fearsome, most badass cyborg warrior with the highest kill rate. He also happens to be infatuated by Mira, the Designer's daughter(the Designer designs the cyborgs models).
Mira has a reputation of being cold, heartless, and just a downright bitch, but it's all an act she must put on, and a mask she must wear to hide her true self. See, the humans in this universe are selfish individuals who just don't give a damn; Mira is different, she cares, she loves, she feels, but she can't show that side of herself. Mira is helping cyborgs and other being escape the Humanoid Alliance by tipping them off about raids and she's also helping cyborgs(who are essentially slaves) escape to freedom. She's even adopting out cyborg babies.
Long story short, she and Vapor run into each other, and with Vapor's keen senses, he can "smell her arousal." Apparently, anytime she's around him, she gets wet, and he gets rock hard under his armor. He hates her(thinking that she's selling his cyborg brethren for money), he's attracted to her, and oh boy, does he want to get inside her.
After letting her know he and other cyborgs know what she's up to, he puts her on notice and tells her basically that she's "his to kill." As time goes on, he begins to see the true Mira and after some tender moments, and some moments of savage sex(oh, and spanking, can't forget the spanking), he falls for her and she for him. Vapor's clan of cyborgs also change their tune about her and the ally themselves with her and becoming willing to die for her as she proclaimed she'd die for them.
This one was not quite as entertaining as the first book, and I have a feeling that once you've read one, you've read them all; I was kind of expecting them to connect with characters from the previous book(like Rage and his human mate), but that doesn't happen here.
Series: Cyborg Sizzle #2 Rating: 3 stars - I liked it
Vapor is determined to escape with his brethren but he is distracted by Mira Breazeal, the Designer’s daughter. She is all he thinks about, but the other cyborgs want her dead. They consider her just as heartless as her father, but is it true.
Vapor, and the other cyborgs in this book, are a new group trying to escape from the Human Alliance. Vapor is considered one of the deadliest and is tasked with ending Mira’s life. But the more he finds out about her the less he can resist her. Vapor is a controlling alpha male. He doesn’t hesitate to punish Mira with a spanking when she lies or disobeys, which is often. He grew on me as the book went on, especially after he admitted his feelings.
“I want your honesty and your lies, your submission and your rebellion, your unbreakable spirit and your unending softness. I want to be your now and your future, the male you wake up with and the warrior you fight beside.”
Mira is living a lie. She has been hiding her true self for so long she no longer knows how to be normal. She is just seen as the merciless daughter of the Designer, which works in her favor. Vapor teaches her to trust others again. He also allows her to finally be her true self. I thought Mira was a strong woman who took a terrible situation and used it to her advantage as much as she could.
Overall, this was a steamy cyborg romance. I do hope we get more information about the Humanoid Alliance and the Homeworld soon. So far we have only gotten a few pieces of information about them.
