The cover is steamy though I wish the wolf on the cover matched Zane’s description.
This is the 5th story in this series. I highly recommend reading them all in order, so you can understand the pack dynamics and characters. This is for adults only due to the steamy content.
This story is about Zane and his past, present, and future. Zane’s story grabbed me from the beginning and I was pulled into his turmoil. Mahalia has her own turmoil, but she provides a light for Zane that made me smile and happy for Zane. There is lots of intrigue in this story, but it does not have any fighting except the internal battles that Zane is fighting. I can’t wait to see what Elsa cooks up in her next story, and I do hope for some revenge for Zane :)
I highly recommend this series to wolf shifter fanatics of all kinds :)

Lost Wolf: Wolves of Angels Rest #5 Elsa Jade

This terrific book made me laugh and cry. It deals with serious issues in a sensitive way and there is a HEA.
'Lost Wolf' is the fifth book in the Wolves of Angels Rest series by Elsa Jade. It's also part of the multi-author Mating Season of stand alone paranormal romances and I was given a copy by the author in exchange for an honest review. I love this series and it just keeps getting better and better. I've read a lot of books by Elsa Jade, she is a terrific story teller and never disappoints. I absolutely loved Lost Wolf and really didn't want to put it down, but it was emotionally intense in places and I cried a few tears for several of the characters. It also has humour, steam and a happily ever after, at least for Zane and Hallie.
Although this book is written as a stand alone, and it does have it's own happily ever after for Zane and Hallie, the story begins in 'Rogue', the third book in the series. The lost wolf is known as Zane, and he came to be part of the Mesa Diablo pack run by the Villalobos brothers when he was turned into a killing machine by the paramilitary group of werewolf hunters known and the Kingdom Guard and attacked Dare. He has no memory of his life before then and on the night of the Harvest Moon he's preparing to take a kill or cure elixir provided by Thunder to try to regain his memories when he meets Mahalia (Hallie) Booker in the diner and knows she can help him put the broken pieces of himself back together.
Hallie Bookers is in Mesa Diablo to find some information on the petroglyphs and the lost tribe who used to inhabit the area so she can finish her PhD and take up a post at her college teaching history. Her life has become a mess in recent months, with her screening results confirming that she has inherited the gene that causes ovarian cancer and runs in her family, being dumped by her user fiance and then finding out that she would get the job in the faculty regardless of what she wrote in her thesis just because of the ticks they could put in their diversity boxes. That's not how she wants to get the job and she is now totally focussed on getting what she needs for her paper and giving the board at the college a poke in the eye just to prove she could. Having found the county records office closed, she goes to Gramma's to eat and kill some time while she waits for it to open again. When she tells the two strangers at the counter what she's doing in town, one tries to tell her she's wasting her time, but the other one, called Zane seemed totally focussed on her and when she found him outside her hotel room door, their lives both begin to change...
I'm not going to give any more spoilers, just say this is a really terrific book which deals with difficult subjects in a sensitive way. I really felt for both Zane and Hallie and cried for the pain that Zane had endured at the hands of the Kingdom Guard, as well as the choices facing Hallie as she tries to deal with the threat of cancer. I also broke my heart for Corrine Ayres and the grief and pain she has had, and continues to endure because of what happened to Zane, but I hope she'll get another true mate and the chance for a happily ever after in the next book. I can't wait to find out. But you'll have to read this fantastic book to find out why she needs one in the worst way. I do have a question that hasn't been answered though - how did Thunder know anything about her or at least enough to know she had any connection to Zane. I highly recommend both the book and the series.

An engrossing tale
This is the first novel I have read by this author but it will not be the last. Gripping and wounded characters who call out to each other. Tension, mystery, excitement and romance makes this a book to while away your afternoon and escape from a cold wintry location to somewhere mysterious and hot. Loved it and the characters. Thank you, Elsa.

4.5 starts This storyline was really sad when the truth finally came to light. A dying woman gets saved and finds everlasting love while another mourns the death of her everlasting love at the same time. Wow, a very different twist in this book.

Zane has answers, and a new start. And Hallie has a place she fits. Those unanswered questions are a little closer to answers with this book and I can't wait for the next.

In this book #5 we meet the Wolf from the Kingdom Guard that survived the attack on the Villalobos and was taken prisoner in book #4.
He remembers nothing his mind is a blank and he prefers to spend his days in his wolf form and eating squirrels, frogs and whatever he can catch. Even though the Villalobos have made him part of his pack, he still feels out of place and won't even eat their food. The have named him Zane since he doesn't even remember his name. There is an elixir he can take that will either help him remember, or kill him.
Mahalia is a history major who needs to discover her own piece of history in order to finish her thesis. What better place the Angel's Rest, after all no one has ever been able to write about the mystery of Four Corners. Mahalia didn't expect it to be so hard and she certainly didn't expect to meet such a mysterious and intriguing man and be the center of his life.
Will Hallie stay and help Zane recover his memories and if he survives the effects of the elixir and recovers them, will she become just a distant memory to him?
This series of stories are very well written and each and every one will keep you glued till the end. They are all standalone, but you will want to read them all.

I was given a copy of 'Lost Wolf' by Elsa Jade, in exchange for an honest review.
I was extremely excited when I was informed Elsa was continuing on with her "Wolves of Angels Rest" series, as I have enjoyed & fallen in love with the installments so far. So when 'Lost Wolf' book 5 landed in my kindle I soon devoured it. Boy I had missed this series, but instead of the Mating Moon, it's the Harvest Moon...
Zane can't remember his past, he can't remember his own name or where he is from, but the pack at Angels Rest has taken him in.... A chance meeting with scholar Mahalia & he seems to remember all sorts of things...
I found myself LOVING every second of this book, would Zane finally remember who he is, his past, what exactly happened to him??? Then Elsa decides we needed a twist...boy did we ever need this twist.

Now he lives on pack land. The pack is trying to help him. They gave him a name "Zane"
Thunder took him into town and over pie he found the one. The key to coming back to himself and holding on to the memories.
Mahalia Booken a human.
Great story on Zane and finding his way back to cotroling his wolf.
I loved the interaction of these two characters , and the rest of the group as back up.
This book is romance and drama

The pack has taken Zane under their wing and are trying to restore his memory if for no other reason, than to give him some peace of mind. The Kingdom Guard did their worst and now it is up to them to fix him. Zane has no interest in anything and cannot focus since they took his memories…that is until a woman named Mahalia comes into to town looking for Darling. She is looking for the petroglyphs, their history and pictures…to finish her thesis. But Zane is drawn to her. Everything inside him is slowly coming into focus and even some of his memories. Could she be that which he needs to bring him back from the brink ?? Why does he remember when she is around ? And why does his wolf stir and want to protect her ? And what will happen when his true mate finds him once again ?

Can he be saved?
Another great book in the series and yet still a self contained story. This is the story about the wolf that the Kingdom Guard tried to make into a soldier for their own purposes. Taking away who he was and leaving an empty husk. But in the end he didn’t want to kill anyone and was beaten by the Angels Rest pack and then taken in by the pack to try and help him. We also have a new player come into the mix. A history student, Mahalia Booker, who is working on her thesis and wanting to find out more about the lost tribe of Angels Rest and the petroglyphs. A wonderful love story with a nice HEA for some of the characters in the book. Well written and very entertaining to read.

An on the edge of your seat read. A great addition to the series. This is a standalone book but continues the series. Zane was drugged, tortured, and stripped of himself and his memories by the Kingdom Guard to be used as a weapon against his own kind. The wolf pack of Angel's Rest have taken him and and named him Zane. Mahalia Booker is trying to get her masters in history. She only needs to see and photograph the petroglyphs. Only she is being stonewalled at every turn. Zane meets her and knows she is the key to getting his memories back. The suspensefully romantic, sexy read hooks you with the first chapter and doesn't let go.

Past, Present, Future Love Conquers All
Zane's story of loss, betrayal, past, present and future is extremely well done in Elsa Jade's Lost Wolf. Zane was turned into a killing machine by the humans that fear werewolves. The Angels Rest Pack saved him from the fate of killing is own. Unfortunately, his new pack didn't know who he was any more than he did. Mahalia is comes to Angels Rest looking for the past of Mesa Diablo. She had no idea what finding the past would do to her future.
The Mating Season Collection is one of my favorite set of books written by multiple authors. Each with their own unique view on what mating season means. I can't wait for each new book in the series.

Zane Villalobos is lost because his past was stolen from him by an enemy and he was turned into a killing machine to destroy the packs. Mahalia Booker is in Mesa Diablo to find answers for her thesis but what she finds is more then she ever thought she would find. Together they try to solve the mystery.
The author gave the characters very good interaction.This is definitely a book that I could not put down.
This is for any mature paranormal romance book lover.

Zane can't remember who is or where he came from all thanks to Kingdom Guard who tortured him for their own monster army against the werewolves. He agreed to take the elixir to help his memory return to him.
Hallie comes to Angel Rest to write a paper about Mesa Diablo and the petroglyphs. She run into a died end when Darling tells her she can no longer help her. That's not the worst of her troubles. Will they both find what they are searching for?

This book is a definite 5 star. Zane is a lost rogue wolf trying to find himself. Halie is a human trying to prove herself more than just a minority. Halie has no idea wolves exist and Zanes wolf want's her as soon as he scents her in the tiny diner. This is a great story and will keep you entralled to the finish as does all of this series. I was gifted this book for an honest review and it is recommended

This book is amazing. You are pulled in and I felt like I was in the book. I love the female in this story and how she shows her strength. How she dosent let anything stop her and she fights. This story is very empowering and I am happy for Zane. No better wolf deserved a second chance at happiness then he did and I am glad he got his memory back.

This is the next book in the series and Zane the lost wolf from the prior books gets his mate. Hallie has come to Angel Rest to work on her thesis but she is meet with a stone wall where no one wants to help her. Zane is still feral but his wolf recognizes Hallie as his and wants to help her. This is a great story that has an HEA , but it also sad when the twist is revealed. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Finally
I'm so happy to finally read a well written novella with a woman of color as a lead. Hallie was a good heroine showing brains, brawn and just the right amount of sass. I'm so happy to finally read a well written novella with a woman of color as a lead. Hallie was a good heroine showing brains, brawn and just the right amount of sass. Inclassificabile, tanto è brutto.
L'eroina è irritante all'ennesima potenza (pare quasi incarnare la social justice secondo tumblr- non mi stupisce perciò che sia piaciuta a molti), l'eroe solo un filino più sopportabile di lei giusto perché impietosisce il lettore per quello che ha passato.
Se esistesse un voto più basso di 1, questo libro se lo meriterebbe tutto.

What a great story full of emotion. Zane has suffered so much and he believes with all his heart that Mahalia will be the one to help him. I can not say enough about how much I love this story. Afraid to say to much don't want to give the story away. I was given this ARC copy for a fair review
