If this is what it means to have a voice, then maybe Zoe doesn't want one after all. Finding out she’s a witch isn’t nearly as cool as Zoe would have thought. Of course, she can’t just be a normal witch. Oh, no. Zoe’s a bad ass witch who's somehow able to cast both light and dark magic. And that pretty much makes her a magical time bomb, because every time Zoe gets upset, she ends up losing control of the dark stuff and someone ends up hurt.
Or dead.
Noah’s trying to help her learn control, but even with his help, she can’t quite keep it all locked away. Thing is, there’s a part of her that likes the way it feels when her dark magic is flowing through her. A part Noah keeps telling her to ignore, but the more she ignores it, the worse things get.
She’s decided that in order to control her dark magic, she’s gonna have to understand it. And to understand it, she’s gonna have to explore it. And that’s where things get dangerous. Because while she’s exploring, she might lose herself completely.
This book was ten times better than the first book. I've read it in one sitting. There were so many things happening that there was no space for any boring stuff.
Zoe finally knows she is not like everyone and that her shyness was actually a spell making her feel small and invisible to people, beside the fact that her powers were suppressed to almost nothing.
But even after the spells are removed, Zoe feels lost and detached since no one really says much about her powers and her birth parents and she still has no idea why someone wanted her to be hidden, from herself and others.
With all this confusing feelings about her relationship with Luke and her feelings towards Noah, Zoe makes a mistake that I think anyone in her place would make. There's a lot of unresolved feelings between her and both boys but I'm glad that by the end of this book, she learned who she really cared for and why. Too bad he doesn't know it yet.
There's a lot of action now that Zoe knows how to use some of her powers and I'm glad that even though she is powerful, she is not perfect and there's a lot that she still has to learn to control.
I loved this book and I hope it only gets better from now on. Read this with KU.
This is the 2nd book in the Witches/Warlock series from R.M. Webb.
Where do I begin...
Hush picks up right where Speak left off. Zoe is off to commence her training for something that she had no idea she was. Noah plays a big role in this book as he refuses to let Zoe "die" out in the cold. He's determined to help her with her newly found magic.
Zoe's character is so relate-able. Just like how we have good and bad in us, she has light and dark magic in her. Its going to be a challenge for this young lady as she has both in her. Noah is steering her towards the light (good) side of the magic, but she wants to tap into her dark side as well because as she puts it, "It feels so good and easy to use".
There are a lot of twists and turns and who does she trust when everyone wants something from her?!? The Vamps? The Wolves? Her own witches? Who???
All I am really going to say is that there is a new character introduced to us by the name of Celine. She stole my heart from the start and we learn alot from this young lady.
You WON'T be disappointed with this one....Looking forward to #3...
This series is terrible. Zoe , at 23 talks like a 13 year old girl. This book makes me want to bang my head against a wall. Noah is all butt hurt over what exactly? I feel brain cells oozing out of my ears.
The characters are growing up but they are still pretty unlikable. Wish the focus would widen, just the three characters are annoying, especially when they sweet to hate each other.
