The books can be read as stand-alone stories, but it is advisable to read them in order to get the most enjoyment from the series.

~ 3 Her Dragon’s Soul Stars ~
Her Dragon’s Soul is book nine in the Dragon Guards series by Julia Mills.
This was a quick and ok read. The author does a good job helping the reader understand quickly the way of dragons and mates, so this can stand a lone. The story starts of with Liam and Hannah having already courted for some time, so the relationship is already on its way to a full mating. We don’t get much relationship building, not a lot of action or adventure happens in this one, and Hannah’s rescue seamed to easy. Not much of a plot to talk about. I did enjoy the mating ceremony; because each dragon does something different for their mate.
As things go this one felt to much like the same old same old. Nothing new or exciting happens and it turned out to be just an ok read.

Julia Mills has once again captured our hearts with Her Dragon's Soul, the ninth and most recent release in her spellbinding Dragon Guard Series. I became a diehard fan last year after reading the first book of the series, Her Dragon to Slay and now, like so many others, I anxiously await each new release. I originally read this story when it was first released in the Shifters Gone Alpha Bundle several months ago. In fact, I loved it so much that I wanted to share my thoughts on this story with you, and NO, I did NOT receive a free copy of this book in exchange for my review. I just love Mills' work, so I read them using the Kindle Unlimited program. These books can be read as standalone novellas but in order to gain maximum enjoyment from the story, I would highly recommend reading the books in order. You will never regret it! Mills never fails to tease, titillate and tantalize her readers with an exceptionally well developed, well crafted and well written paranormal tale filled to the brim with heart-stopping danger, heart-pounding adventure, spine-tingling suspense, heartbreaking angst and sweet, sensual romance. Sigh.......So dreamy! The heroes are always strong, brave, kind, loyal, handsome and most definitely swoonworthy while the heroines are smart, fierce, courageous, independent, dedicated and beautiful. These characters are not only faithful to their mates but are also committed to their friends, family and their cause. These dragon shifters are, quite literally, moden day Arthurian knights protecting the world from evil.
This story features guardsman Liam Drennan from the Golden Fire clan and Hannah McKennon, a lovely white witch who has been victimized by an evil wizard. Liam accompanies Jace, his friend and fellow guardsman, to seek help from the Blue Thunder clan to rescue his mate Melanie from her grandfather, the Grand Draoi of the Dorcha, a coven of wizards and witches who worship demons. During the rescue Liam discovers that Melanie's best friend and fellow witch, Hannah, is his true mate, the one the universe created just for him. Oh my! Love is in the air - again! With the combined efforts of the Golden Fire and Blue Thunder clans, the dragon shifters once again are victorious and manage to save Melanie but at what cost? And yet another fantastic book in the Dragon Guard Series. This is book 9 and its all about Liam and his mate Hannah. The two met at his best buds mating ceremony. He knew immediately she was his mate but all kinds of things happen to prevent him from seeking her out and talking to her. Hannah comes from a line of very strong white witches and now that grandpa draoi to Melanie has lost her he is seeking to make Hannah and her sisters his prey.
Liam is taken and Hannah is held hostage via her mind. Can they rescue them in time?

The 9th instalment in this series was an improvement from the previous one. Again it was a novella, which was a bit disappointing as it gives the book a rushed and underdeveloped feel.
I liked Liam and Hannah as a couple and thankfully we got to see a lot of interactions between the two which was something that was missing in book number 8 with its H and h.
It had the same villain as book number 8 and the epilogue shows that he will most likely continue into the next one. While it isn't a bad thing I hope the next instalment is a full length book as he seems to be defeated too easily in the novella's.
Lovely description of the purple dragon during the mating ceremony, though I skimmed most of the ceremony as its repetitive.
Hoping the next book it a longer.

Dragon Guardsman Liam Drennan just knew that Hannah Marie was his mate - from the highlights in her hair to the scent of Angel’s trumpets with their light lemony overtones that invaded hi senses. The only problem was he could sense something dark and evil was hidden within her. Could he convince everyone else and find a way to remove it from her so they would have their happy ever after?
This was a lovely story with lots of drama and excitement as events unfolded. Throughout it all, Liam kept faith in Hannah and made sure that she would be ok. A nice romantic story mixed into a dramatic story containing lots of evil at the same time. Very enjoyable even though short enough to be like a novella.

INTERESTING SERIES, BUT BECAME REPETITIVE AFTER A FEW BOOKS
After reading a few of these, I decided to write one review for all of them. I found these books to be pretty good, if somewhat formulaic. If a reader is looking for a good story with some drama & where the main characters go through some terrible things, but ultimately end up together, I think they will enjoy this series of books. It is sometimes nice to read a "happily ever after" story.

Beautifully Wonderful
Another Guardsman down for the count, caught in the love of a witch. It is always a beautiful site watching two people fall in love, but as usual the bad guy thinks he can win. We all know bad never wins, but they always have to try. I keep wondering though if this one will win in the end...he never gives up.

Clearing his mate
Liam knew that Hannah was his One but something was wrong as there was evil trying to take her. Julia has once again taken me to the land of Dragon guard shifters and their beautiful true mates. I thoroughly recommend this book and hope that other readers enjoy the tale of a dragon once fighting for his mate.

A female witch and a male dragon shifter warrior!
A female witch that has always practiced only white magic like the rest of her family. A male dragon shifter warrior found his mate while helping his brethren find a missing mate of his best friend. You will have to read the book to find out what all happens to everyone. More twists and turns in this story. Happy reading!

As usual I love this series of books. Each one seems more wonderful than the last as the characters become old friends and I feel like I'm battling evil right along with them.

Another Hit
Julia has done it again each book is better than the one before. I love how her imagination takes on such an incredible life. The Dragon Guards and their mates are amazing. I can picture each one from the description in each book. I love them all so far.

When reality is sometimes harsh, and having a penchant for the dark romance genre, Julia Mills never seems to disappoint when the light of optimism is needed with her Dragon Guard series and this book is no exception.

Dragon and mate.
The dragon was captured by the evil mages. He finally got a hold of his brethen dragons. They freed him but his mate had a demon inside of her. Great read and a lot more to this storyline.

A bit short
I do like this series, but this one fell a little short.
It was quite predictable.

Ms. Julia Mills has done it again! Love Hannah and Liam's story!! With every story I read they just get better and better! Can't wait to see what happens next.
