The first book in the spin-off series from the popular Billionaire Brothers series.
When curvy event planner Heather Lancaster meets Gage Coltson in a New York City hotel, she’s instantly attracted to him. And when she helps him out, he repays her by inviting her to vacation on his ranch.
But when her sister shows up to “rescue” her, she discovers that Gage is related to the billionaire Trask brothers.
Stressed out Heather succumbs to his - and his ranch’s - charm. And when she rescues a puppy, Gage helps her care for the appealing creature.
As her two-week vacation turns into three, she slowly falls in love with the sexy rancher. But what about her career in New York? Should she risk it all for love? Could Gage ever love her - and her curves?
This is a sexy contemporary romance novella of approximately 31,500 words.
After not finishing the last two books I picked up, I was happy to find this. I enjoyed the set up and find Gage extremely easy to like.
Overall the story flowed well. It didn't feel rushed or bogged down. I also liked the fact that we get to meet Gage's brothers, although I would have liked a little more with them given this is the first book in a new series.
Now to the parts I didn't like and the reason this book got three stars instead of four. In one word, repetition. When Gage tells Heather about his brother Zach, he informs her Zach tames horses...three times in three chapters. But worse than that, for me, was the constant use of the word 'curvy' or some variation. Heather constantly refers to herself as curvy and asks over and over again if the hero could love a curvy girl like her or love her curves. It became too much and began pulling me out of the story.
Will I read this author again? Maybe. As I said, the story was good, but I wanted the heroine to have a bit more confidence in herself.
I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a BBW romance and doesn't mind heroines with confidence issues.
Spoiler....Although I knew it was about a curvy woman, I found Heather's continued thoughts about her curves irritating. She seemed to have very little self confidence. Even her job in New York City, contributed to her doubts. Although I enjoyed the story, I also thought Gage didn't show much confidence after he purchased Heather's round trip plane ticket to visit him in Montana. He kept saying he didn't want to rush her, and yet he expected her to stay with him alone at his ranch.
The story was a pretty good one. Heather works as an event planner for a major hotel. Gage walks into the lobby to check into his room, for a ranching convention, and sparks fly between them. There are some real feels between them while he’s there in New York, but when the convention is over, he invites her to his ranch for a vacation. It’s love and sweetness and sexy, but somewhere along the way, the author lost me, making it hard to push through to the later moments on the ranch. 1. Heather complained about her weight constantly. Heather was self-conscious about her curves and didn’t know if Gage would like them. But seriously. Mentioning it a few times throughout would have been quite enough. It felt like she was bringing the attention to her BBW status every other page. It got annoying. 2. There were scenes that just dragged on. She kept wanting him to kiss her, and kissing and sex became all she thought about once she had her first kiss. 3. The whole black sheep and non-interaction with the cousins thing was kind of skipped over. I would have liked to know what that back story was. It could have really built up the plot. Not only that, but Heather’s sister and her husband travelled all the way to the ranch to check on her and then just turned around and went home. That was a serious misuse of a great plot twist. 4. There was way too little brother involvement. They could have helped with the suspense and excitement of the love story, and I would have liked more of an in depth introduction to each of them. Here again, I think it was a great waste of a plot twist that could have kept us guessing. 5. All of a sudden, in Chapter 4, we get a second POV from Gage. If the author is going to use a dual POV, especially in a love story like this, the second one needs to be introduced earlier in the story. It could have enhanced the story so much if we knew what he was thinking and feeling while he was in New York instead of waiting until she showed up at the ranch. All-in-all, it wasn’t a bad story. I just think the author missed so many opportunities, from the conflict not being built up enough to not having other character involvement developed, to turn this into something more.
There's not much that beats a great romance that involves a curvy woman ripe for love and a hunky cowboy gobsmacked by the beauty he sees. When they meet in an unusual place and under unusual circumstances, it's even better. Gage is in New York City for a ranchers conference, trying to check in to the hotel he's reserved at, only to discover he's been pick-pocketed at the airport. Without his wallet, he has no cash or credit card to complete his check-in. Drawn on the instant attraction for this gorgeous cowboy standing in front of her, event planner Heather, offers his a phone to cancel all of his cards and advise his bank, then feeling an enormous amount of trust in him, also offers to pay for his room for the night until he receives his new credit card the next day. Her generosity is only the beginning of the attraction Gage feels for the petite and curvy woman in front of him, and after taking her out for a drink, dinner and making sure she gets home safe and sound, he extends an offer for her to vacation at his ranch for a couple of weeks, hoping to discover just where their relationship goes, and wishing for forever. Heather feels the instant attraction, but a little sour thanks to previous relationships, or lack thereof, thanks to all of her curves, she's unsure if Gage could ever love her. When he sends her round trip tickets to visit, she's all in. Only question is...will they manage to get over their "shyness" with each other and let love take it's course? Or will they end up each going their own way in the end. A wonderfully written love story that will melt your heart and give you hope that love can happen anywhere and to anyone. Beautiful!
Gage just got to his hotel room for the ranching convention when he goes to get his wallet but it was gone. Heather was trying to check him in but she could let him unless he had his credit card. Heather couldn’t believe she was attraction to him that never happens with guests. Heather found herself thinking about him. Gage asked Heather to have a drink with him and then he tells her about his ranch and 5 brothers. Gage asks Heather to come to the ranch for a couple of weeks. Gage gives her a plane ticket to see him in Montana. The next day Heather gets to meet some of his brothers. Heather finds a little puppy and bring the puppy to Gages home. Heather and Gage seem to have a friendly: relationship. Heather was hoping it would change she wanted to be with him. Heather was an event planner in New York so they asked her to help plan the rodeo. Wonderful I really enjoy reading this book the characters are wonderful Great writing
He came to NY City for a convention, when he went to check in found out his wallet was stolen and the beautiful hotel employee willing to help him. Love at first sight. A wonderful tie in to her other series, because finding out her sister is married to his cousin. She flies to MT for vacation and finds love and a puppy.
Love at first sight. Heather and Gage hit it off. She pays for his room, then he pays her back after his wallet was stolen. He thanks her by taking her out to dinner.. Gage wants to see her offers vacation at the ranch, she accepts. Cute romantic couple Kisses. Sex See where it goes
Liked the story a lot! Heather meets Gage while working the desk at the hotel. He's there for a convention. He knows he wants her, but doesn't want to rush. She's worried he's not serious. No big description of the wedding of a wedding planner. No honeymoon. And I would think after 2 yrs together there would've been a pregnancy announcement.
A check in at a hotel gave Gage and Heather opportunity to know one another. She paid for his room since it seemed he had been a victim of a pickpocket. Gage invites her to his ranch and in those two weeks they get to know each other. He lets her go home without saying the most important words. Then she flies back to have her HEA.
I love the theory of this book. Meeting and falling in love the first day is so romantic. Add in that neither one knows how the other one feels because they are too scared to say it and it makes fro a great book.
I like Heather and Gage. Their instant connection and courtship seem realistic. I didn't like that Heather was so preoccupied with being "curvy". But I did finish the book, sometimes I don't.
This was the first of this author's works that I've read and I really enjoyed it. It was so realistic, including the characters. There is some sexual content toward the end so it isn't overpowering. Will read more by this author.
This book held my interest though I had trouble not skimming over some of the flowery prose when it came to describing the FL desires and anatomy. Over all, I've happily read it twice now!
This short read was a really sweet romance. The couple are both rather shy, and hesitant about speaking their feelings. It was interesting reading about them dancing around each other. But they worked it out in the end. Recommend.
I liked most of this book although 3 weeks seems way fast to me..... The characters and family are great i cannpt wait to read more about these 6 brothers.
Heather helps Gage out when finds out he lost his wallet and can't pay for his room. He pays for dinner and a drink to thank Heather. He pays the money back as well. Gage offers to pay for her travel to come to his ranch for vacation. So she asks for time off and goes visit Gage. The chemistry between them slowly builds as they get to know each other. At first I was like I can see strangers in same town having dinner, but travel on plane to see them when don't know each other much. It was a little Hard to believe at first for me. But I got past that part, because the characters pulled me in. They have light steamy spots. I wanted to see the country and see how it plays out. I wished for a little more detail of the land or the ranch. I grew up in the country and love to hear about the details of new places. I loved the story and the characters and thought it had a nice steady pace and has me wanting to read more of the series. Thank you for letting me read the first part of the series.
This is the second book I have read by this author of I was not disappointed. The story and characters were great, I am looking forward to reading more from the other brothers and their families.
When Gage went to New York for a conference, he stayed at the hotel Heather worked at. His wallet had been stolen while at the airport and he cannot check in but Heather comes to his rescue. Later he invites her to come see his ranch but is he just being nice because she helped him out? Heather is just not sure and returns to New York.
So we are back with another Jenn Roseton amazing BBW book and I for one was super excited to get my hand of the book and boy! It didn’t fail me in any way! Heather Lancaster is an event planner for an upscale hotel in NYC, but due to staff being sick, she is covering the front desk as there is a big rancher’s convention being held in her hotel. While working on the front desk, Heather see a man that affects her in a way that no man has every affected her before. Gage Coltson was instantly attracted to Heather and when she helped him after he had his wallet stolen and not expected to benefit anything for it, just made him desire her more. He offered his thanks in inviting her to his ranch in Montana, but what he wasn’t expecting was her sister Phoebe and his newly found cousin to turning up to make sure Heather is okay and to insist that she goes home with them. But Heather is steadfast in wanting to develop into this new relationship with Gage. But after extending her vacation by an extra week, she still doesn’t hear the word she needs from Gage and she is left wondering how he actually feels about her. So this book is a little different from the other books that Jenn Roseton has written before, in the fact that the lead man is defiantly more approachable and actually comes across as human. You cannot help but fall in love with the Coltson brothers. But there is one character in this whole book that steals my heart more than others and that character is Charlie! And boy! He does he just melt you into a puddle! The writing is magnificent and by the end of the story I felt that the story was whole and was simply perfect. This book earns a simply perfect 10 out of 10!
