Callie Stone Mystery #2

Pint of No Return

Rate this book
There’s trouble brewing in Skinner, Oregon! Callie Stone is settling down in her hometown, but now she needs a job and a place to live that isn’t the cottage on her mom’s farm. When she’s offered the opportunity to manage the Skinner Bru-topia, a local brew fest, Callie jumps at the chance to show off her event planning skills. However, it’s a bad omen for the fest when one of the brewers collapses at Callie’s feet. With the assistance of the always intoxicating Detective McMillan and a Brittany spaniel named Hops, will Callie be able to discover if the brewer’s death was a case of accidental illness or something more premeditated?

Pint of No Return is the second book in a cozy mystery series set in quirky Skinner, Ore., a town in the Pacific Northwest, where it’s almost impossible to keep a count of the number of coffee shops, breweries or Birkenstocks.

Writer, runner, reader, reviewer...and alliterative! I am a master of works in progress. I have recently published my 3rd book in the Callie Stone Mystery Series, The Past Never Dies. That and the first two books in the series are all available at Amazon.com. I enjoy reading and reviewing mystery, romance, sci-fi, and fantasy books. I am now working on the fourth Callie Stone mystery, which has yet to be titled.

I really like this series. It’s interesting that the main character is a female beer brewer. The town, set in the northern Cascades, melds a little bit of Germany with the local culture. Known for its breweries, this second book takes place during Octoberfest when a film crew comes to do a documentary. You get a lot info on the different types of German beers and craft beers. I’ve got a list of beers to try now!
