A Halloween Maple Leaf Series Novella

Sienna Faye makes her living designing toys for her father's Boston company, Faye Toys. Working for her father brings many pressures, some in the form of a video gaming heir he wants her to marry because it would be "good for business." Attending Super Con in St. Martin right before Halloween is just the escape she needs to hide and avoid telling her father she won't use marriage as a merger. The conference also gives her an excuse to have some fun in a fairy costume.

Max Devon writes and illustrates graphic novels for his rabid teen readers. He loves his work, but every woman he's been with so far has trashed his career, telling him he'll never grow up if he always surrounds himself with superhero figurines and other nonsense. They just don't understand where inspiration comes from. Super Con is his chance to take a break from women or, if he takes his brother's advice, it could be a place to "just get laid," no strings attached.

When Sienna stops at Max's booth at Super Con, the connection is instant. But if Sienna brings Max home, her father will flip. If Max lets Sienna into his heart, she could stomp all over it. Is a magical time in St. Martin enough to change everything for them both?

Christine DePetrillo

Christine DePetrillo can often be found hugging trees, conversing with dragonflies, and walking barefoot through sun-warmed soil. She finds joy in listening to the wind, bathing in moonlight, and breathing in the fragrances of things that bloom. If she had her way, the sky would be the only roof over her head.

Her love of nature seeps into every story she tells. As does her obsession with bearded mountain men who build, often smell like sawdust, and know how to cherish the women they love. Today she writes tales meant to make you laugh, maybe make you sweat, and definitely make you believe in the power of love.

She lives in Vermont with her husband and cat who defend her fiercely from all evils.

Fun, spicy, quick read. This cute little Halloween read was a great way to end Halloween. “When Sienna stops at Max's booth at Super Con, the connection is instant. But if Sienna brings Max home, her father will flip. If Max lets Sienna into his heart, she could stomp all over it. Is a magical time in St. Martin enough to change everything for them both?” I enjoyed this quick little romance, the characters were fun and even though it’s short there is still a story. Only thing I can’t get my head around is the candy corn, who eats candy corn? 🙂

It was a sweet read. It also did not hold my attention.
Again, there was not much emotion the words. So Sienna and Max's connection was hard to believe. Yes, they did hangout but I did feel that connection being portrayed.

Fairy Tales and Graphic Novels

Max and Sienna don't describe their attraction as love at first sight, but I certainly do. However things are a bit complicated. And wouldn't you know it?! There is a surprising twist near the end.

Cute, slow-burn, pre-Halloween novella. No spooky vibes, but there are costumes and a holiday party.

I enjoyed Max and Sienna's romance! They were a bit too judgemental of people who sleep together soon after meeting, even though that's exactly what they do. Also, this novella was quite funny!

That was such a boring book. So anticlimactic..

It was not realistic at all either, and the amount of times they described each others eyes.. what kind of 2013 Wattpad writing is that.

The worst was him saying “my lady” to her constantly. It made me cringe nonstop.

It's predictably cute and sweet. The classic misunderstanding leads to conflict that get cleared up and they end happily at a Halloween party.
On a spicy scale I'd give it 1 jalapeño

Not terrible but I only read it because of the low page count. Insta-love and the author only called his parts his arousal which was hilarious.

Cute little novella set around Halloween. I loved the dynamics between the 2 main characters and the twist with the secondary characters. Max and Sienna are adorable.

My Review: I have been following the Maple Leaf series from book one and have been really enjoying the characters and storyline. The last book was some what connected to the previous three but this one has a very vague connection, I am hoping that maybe these characters come back later in the series and connect with the others some how. It was almost a stand alone novella. With that said this is a fun book to read, I love the quirkiness of the characters, their personalities come out in full force even with a shorter timeline. It is a nice combination of beach read and autumn read that is great for the transitional weather.
