Prepare yourself to celebrate the real reason for the season-Jesus! Beginning with the first day of Advent, this four-week devotional will take you through the entire Christmas season with twenty-one readings organized around the weekly themes of Advent. Through short, engaging reflections on hope, peace, joy, and love, combined with the beauty and relevance of The Passion Translation-a fresh, faithful translation of the Bible-you will find the inspiration you need to celebrate the true reason for the season. Each reading follows the inspiring journey of the main characters of the Christmas story and offers and Advent prayer, making them perfect for personal, family, or small-group use. Scriptures from The Passion Translation will give you greater insights this season for your journey toward Bethlehem. May this devotional and translation of God's Word inspire your faith in the One who came to rescue us and will come again to create us anew!
This was a delightful devotional! It was a perfect addition to the Christmas season. While there were 4 topics it focused on (hope, love, joy, and peace), it emphasized greatly on the love that God has for us. It showed how God loves us so much that he sent his son to us. I highly recommend this.
A refreshing read to relax and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas. Reading this book daily through Advent kept me focus and stress free. And forever grateful for Christ Jesus.
This short Advent devotional is organised around the 4 themes of the season: Hope, Peace, Joy and Love; one theme for each week. Each week's devotions are based on 2 Scripture readings, a Psalm and a passage from one of the gospels. The five devotions then reflect on one of the passages and end with a short prayer.
This is a well organised devotional and I read it 6 days a week: one day the Scripture readings and then the 5 days of devotionals. Simmons devotions cover the major players in Advent around each of the four themes. It's easy to read and provides sufficient insight to help you treasure and ponder on the wonder of Advent.
