★★★★ ½! Childstar, book 2 of 3. Hollywood bad boy & American good girl sizzle on & off the movie set while enemies lurk!

“I’m always sexy, baby” he retorted.
“And cocky.”
“Yeah, I’ve got one of those too,”

Books in Childstar serial should be read in order:
Book 1: Childstar 1
Book 2: Childstar 2
Book 3: Childstar 3

In Childstar, part 1 (part 1) former child star, teen heartthrob and Hollywood bad boy recently out of drug rehab, Noah Sloan and former child star, teen idol, head of a branding empire with a fizzling career, Amelia London were cast opposite each other in a big budget movie, Sinners Like Us an erotic suspense based on a best seller.

Once they were the darlings of their industry; child stars with success after success, awards, fame, fortune and in their teen years an affair that ended with scandal. Back together on set, the sparks flew as they rehashed old wounds and fought hard NOT to rekindle what once dominated the tabloids.

Childstar, part 2 opens up to part 1’s shocking ending. Truths were revealed and feelings shared while enemies align themselves for a piece of the pie. It’s a rollercoaster of feeling and events as Noah and Amelia navigate traitorous territory and sizzle up the big screen.

 photo cs1 H BS by sb_zpssjgshra7.gif

Seven words to describe Noah Sloan: Complex, loyal, jaded, broken, private, possessive and protective.

photo cs2 he BS by sb_zpstutfucb0.gif

Seven words to describe Amelia London: Sweet, determined, vulnerable, naive, fearless, nurturing and loyal.

Childstar, part 2, told from dual POVs, is a fast paced, suspenseful and sexy read set against the backdrop of painful pasts and clouded futures. It ends leading right to book 3: Childstar 3 for the conclusion of their story.

Intriguing plot! Broken, complex and swoon-worthy Noah Sloan! Compelling and endearing heroine.

‘Sweetheart,” I leaned in, whispering in her ear. “Pick your battles with me carefully.”

 photo childstar 2.png

Child Star 2 picks up right after the first book. Amelia has discovered that those close to her have lied to her for her entire life. She’s left reeling and the only person she feels she can trust is Noah. As for Noah, he’s committed to a relationship with Amelia, he’s all in and he’s not turning back. Together they are strong, together they can defeat anything that comes their way.

This second part was a great middle book for the plot to stand on, it furthered the story and kept my attention the entire time. While the first book was laying the groundwork for Amelia and Noah’s relationship, the second book was cementing in their love for the reader. It was very low angst in my opinion, and while I normally prefer angst it would not have worked in the scenario with where the plot was going. I loved that Amelia and Noah stayed strong, stayed together. They proved to themselves and to the world that with one another, they are stronger than they are apart.

I also loved the character development of Amelia from the first book to this one. She grew from a shy, good girl afraid to look bad in front of anyone else, into someone that stood up for what she believed in. Her confidence grew and she was more willing to fight battles to get what she wanted. Noah in return has developed into a good guy, not that he wasn’t one before. He was just hiding behind his actions before but now he doesn’t have to. He has what he wants.

I’m really looking forward to the next book!

If you’ve read Childstar 1, I know you’re dying for this book. After I finished part 1, I couldn't wait to read the second. I needed answers. Just like the first, once I started this second installment I couldn’t put it down. This series is addicting!
Of all the secrets I thought he was keeping from me, never in my wildest dreams did I think it would be this.

Some secrets come out, and some things are still left for us to discover. Through all the turmoil, the business of the new release, Noah and Amelia have a lot on their plates. But most importantly, they have each other.

 photo 56BB0B5B-364D-4E7F-950B-DF3D4DA99ABC_zpssamiotni.jpg

Noah showed a different side of himself in this book. He is so much more than he seems. And Amelia wow’d me with her strength and determination in this story. I love both of these characters so much in different ways. Most of all, I love them together. They are different, but compliment each other perfectly.

The Childstar series is one you won’t want to miss out on. I love the writing, adore the characters and the story is completely intriguing, moves fast and is full of mystery, romance and is crazy steamy! I highly recommend these and can’t wait until the final installment is out! I want all the answers!!!

4 us against the world stars
‘If you prick us, do we not bleed? If you tickle us, do we not laugh? If you poison us, do we not die? And if you wrong us, shall we not revenge?’

Shit just got real and oh so good! In the 2nd installment of Child Star, Amelia and Noah find themselves coming to terms of what it means to have the truth laid out between them. Conflicting emotions threaten to drown them, but their feelings for each other are even stronger.
"I’m right here in front of you, being as real as I have ever been in my whole life. How I feel about you—the fact that I love you, the fact that I have always loved you—is not fake, Amelia."

Amelia proves to everyone around her that she is no longer the beloved little girl they fell in love with. Now she is a woman in love who should be admired and respected, willing to do anything to protect those she loves.

Childstar 2, I absolutely adored, the author took it to a whole other level; Blackmail, murder, extortion, Botox, blood, sweat, and tears. I read this in one sitting because I honestly couldn't put it down, I loved the turn of events as each skillfully played out. I imagined at times I had an evil grin just when punishment and justice was served. But like all good things it comes with a price and this price may be too steep to pay on their own. The guest appearance was an awesome touch, I squeed like the fangirl I am. Awesome addition to this addictive serial.

"I think the reason we all love Damon and Blair is because we relate to them. After all, there is a sinner in all of us."

Childstar 2 starts right off where we left Noah & Amelia at the ending of part1. They both now share a secret and they cannot tell anyone about it. Amelia realized a lot of things about her past and her whole life and now she has to pretend that nothing has changed and that she doesn't know about that haunting truth.

The couple comes even closer than before even though some people seem to protest at first about it. They keep shooting scenes from their upcoming movie, but their passion makes them blur the lines between acting and real need for each other. Damon becomes Noah, Blaire becomes Amelia and the shooting of the movie gets on fire by them.

Someone won't make it easy for them though and the couple will have to face complications that will keep them apart, but also fighting for each other.

Enemies, allies, friends and foes. This book had it all! Suspense, action, laughter, some super hot moments & twists that make you question what has just happened. I still cannot comprehend how this book ended. What happened truly surprised me.

I wish I had the next part to start it immediately, because this author definitely knows about cliffies. Looking forward to the final part of this amazing series!

J.J. McAvoy delivers an action packed installment which starts directly after Noah gives his jaw dropping reason as to why he broke things off with Amelia all those years ago.

”Of all the secrets I thought he was keeping from me, never in my wildest dreams did I think it would be this.”

Once the smoke clears from Noah’s reveal things get even more dangerous for our couple. Amelia finds that Noah is one of the few people she can trust.

The filming of their movie is coming along pretty steamily. This reader is super excited that I have the last book on my Kindle because that ending is even more intense than the last one. I’m excited to see how this story ends and have enjoyed this short series thus far.

”I think the reason we all love Damon and Blair is because we relate to them. After all, there is a sinner in all of us.”

4 **drama** STARS

“Of all the secrets I thought he was keeping from me, never in my wildest dreams did I think it would be this.”

One thing is for damn sure, you can count on JJ McAvoy to blow your mind with insane plot twists, smoking hot couples and as a bonus Bloody Melody on top.

Childstar 2 picks up right where the first book ended. After Noah spilled some really serious secrets that made Amelia look at her whole life in a different light, she has to come to terms with the new found knowledge and they have to figure out where to go from here.

I really can't say much more without giving too much away, but this was a really good second instalment to the story. Amelia grew a backbone, what with all the curveballs she was dealt and then the ending happened and I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am that book 3, the last part in the series came out today. So, that's all you get for now...I'm more interested in finding out what happens next than writing this review. Sorry. Not sorry. ;)

~5 Can't Get Enough Stars~

"She wasn't under my spell. I was under hers."-Noah

description

Childstar 2 is the second novella in the Childstar Trilogy. With fast paced action, sultry steam, and complex characters, Childstar 2 is a must read!

description

Childstar 2 begins in the same hotel room where Childstar 1 ended. Amelia is coming to terms with "the big reveal" and Noah stays right beside her the entire time. With the understanding that they are committed to each other, Amelia and Noah must face down their adversaries, keep their managers satisfied, and continue to film the movie Sinners Like Us , all with smiles plastered on their faces!

"Being an actor was great at a time like this. All of those years of training on how to give an emotional performance that resonated with viewers came to the forefront of my mind."-Amelia

description

Amelia and Noah don't have long to bask in the glory of being together before mayhem irrupts around them. Amelia makes the choice to do whatever it takes to protect him. She exposes herself emotionally in every way in order to protect her love. I loved her transformation from the timid "Hollywood Good Girl" to the "Bad Ass Bitch" that will battle anyone who tries to tear them apart! Amelia is able to enlist support from some very surprising places!

"To kill a lion, you can't be another lion, you've got to be the motherfucker with the gun."

description

"Sinners Like Us was the metamorphosis of Amelia London."-Noah

In addition to the mystery and suspense surrounding our lovers, Noah displays a tender side that only enhances my love for him. What I want is a bad boy. What I really want is a bad boy that knows how to make his woman feel good in every way! Noah knows how to deliver and his delivery is "first class" every time! He and Amelia have an explosive sexual chemistry that has only intensified after the years they were apart. Additionally, the emotional connection is strong.

"You worry about me, and I'll worry about you. That's how we work."-Noah

description

Told in dual POV, Childstar 2 is an addictive read that is sure to please action/romance readers everywhere. The plot is well developed, the characters are complex, the pacing is upbeat, and the romance between Noah and Amelia will leave you breathless!

"A decade of Amelia. I wasn't a fortune teller, but I was sure that would involve us spending most nights alternating between work, sex, and Netflix. Every once in a while, we might do something crazy like socialize with other human beings. Sounds like paradise!"-Noah

description

Overall, Childstar 2 is a must read! This trilogy is sure to put a smile on your face and leave you wanting more. There is just something special about a couple that takes on the world together. I find myself married to my kindle as I offer commentary throughout the entire read. When it comes to Noah and Amelia, I am their champion and biggest fan! Get your kindles ready...you don't want to miss this read!

This part begins right where the first ends. What we love in these books means crazy action and drama over the top, is what certainly we will not also miss in this part. But I must to admit I am surprised as it rolled.

The first part ended with a strong BOOM. I'm sure everyone was curious about what happens next. So what was my surprise when, in the second part the problems have become even more difficult, but with a completely different reasons. Yes, this couple will not have easy all the time. Their enemies are hiding in the shadows and hit the moments when you least expect.

The book has still a good hot scenes. And very good moments when lines between filming and "real life" are blurring. It still intrigues me. I even sometimes have a problem with separating them.

“Why must you always fight me?” he asked.
“Because you like it”

What I like the most is that Amelia shows claws. She is incredible and unstoppable. And some crazy scene gave rise to my favorite quote from this section. Who is this woman? I want to know more, like now.

Noah also showed another side of himself. It was nice to read some of their shared moments in which they could devote time to themselves. Because despite the problems Amelia and Noah together they are even stronger. And they'll need this even more in the third part. Because if you for a moment think that this book does not have a even more powerful twist, you are wrong, I have to tell you the expectation will be even greater.

Book 2 picks up right where book 1 ends. Amelia and Noah are dealing with the truths that he has kept hidden from her all these years. But in doing that, the bond that these two have becomes stronger. These two were destined to be together. Their love, their commitment, their desires for one another was always there. It was just manipulated by those they loved.

This book flowed effortlessly. Amelia and Noah are together and vow to remain that way no matter what or who is thrown at them. Amelia grows strong and independent when faced with a crisis. Her undying love for Noah compels her because she never wants to be apart from this man again. Noah's convictions toward Amelia are passionate and loving. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Noah and Amelia be together, have fun, work thru a crisis, be passionate, and love.

There was a fun little nugget in this book- the powerful Melody Callahan made a cameo appearance. It's always great to see her kick ass and she also gives Amelia a few life lessons.

Book 2 ends in a cliffy and I can't help but think will Liam make a cameo in book 3 (A girl can hope). Looking forward to the last book!!

Intense And Action-Packed

Where the first serial in this series captivated readers with the tumultuous relationship between Amelia and Noah, this serial shows the couple strongly United and taking on the world. Whatever differences they've had in the past, they're putting behind them and moving forward together, all others be damned!

This time around, there is more action and danger. Amelia and Noah find themselves in some dangerous situations. More than once, I felt like I had the rug pulled out from under my feet while reading this.

In so few pages, Ms. McAvoy packs quite a punch, even featuring a character from another of her beloved series. I was completely enthralled with this story and the increasingly intimate relationship between Amelia and Noah. I was also taken aback by the maliciousness of Amelia's mother.

All things said, it was a fantastic read! I was glued to this serial from start to finish. I cannot wait to read the third, and final, serial. Thankfully, I won't have to wait for too long.

What I really dislike about serials is that even if the gap between episodes isn't big when I start a new episode I have to build the connection to the characters all over again. And that usually puts me off a bit so my rating also suffers.

Surprisingly for Childstar Part 2 even if I had to rebuild that connection I still loved the second part even more then the first...

Noah and Amelia's story continues but from this point forward they are together and remain this away...even if the devil herself tries to get between them...

Child Star Part 2 starts off with a bang and had me immediately engaged. The more I get of this series the more I love it and want more. JJ knows how to build suspense and complete addict you.

Noah and Amelia have decided against everyone’s better judgement to try to be together again. Both have admitted they never moved on from their early love and want to see where things could go now.

Part 1 ended with us learning a lot about Amelia and Noah’s past and even though they are willing to try things they still have a lot of skeletons in their closets. They have a lot of people who don’t want them together, so their relationship is anything but easy. Faced with constant adversity they have to decide how hard they are willing to fight for their HEA.

I jumped into this installment just wanting more and more. I had no idea where things would go, but when I read the name Callahan I was so crazy excited. (The Callahan’s are from JJ’s Ruthless People Series) I love how JJ incorporated them into the story.

I think I have told everyone about this series, it is sexy, suspenseful and addictive. I highly recommend it!

"Once Pandora's Box is opened, ther is no closing it."

Wow! JJ McAvoy definitely knows how to keep her readers interest peaked. After Part 1 left off with that cliffhanger I have been dying to read Part 2 in order to find out what happened next. With the secrets Noah told Amelia, I knew this story was going to have me on the edge of my seat and I was right. Amelia now has to keep those secrets for a little while longer, at least until she and Noah can figure out what to do.

Because of their real relationship the movie scenes are even hotter. But when trouble finds them things look grim. I loved how strong Amelia was. She never stop fighting for both Noah and herself. They know that they are the only people they can trust.

Once again though we are left with another cliffhanger. A BIG one. I'm so glad Part 3 is out. I can't wait to see how they get out of the conundrum they were left in.

UNPOPULAR OPINION ALERT!!!

But OMG, this book just had too much WTFery!

2 stars

There is SO much love out there for these books, and after liking but not loving the first, I was hoping I’d be able to get into this one a bit more. Sadly not… quite the opposite in fact.

The story picks up immediately after the big reveal at the end of the last book, and while that is a major plot development, it’s only a part of the unfolding action. First and foremost, this is a romance, and I enjoyed the swooniness of Amelia and Noah continuing their reunion and establishing themselves firmly together.

“She’s mine. I’m hers. It’s that simple. Truthfully, that’s how it’s always been. Neither of us are fighting anymore.”

And then there’s yet another huge plot twist which throws everything into turmoil. But it allows Amelia the opportunity to show just how strong she is as she stands up for herself and for her man, and I really liked her bravery and tenacity. She has developed a lot since we first met her, and her growth from shy and insecure to brave and confident is really well done.

As soon as that drama is handled, Amelia and Noah continue to shoot their highly erotic movie together – with an edge now that they have declared undying, unconditional and very public love for each other – but just when things seem to be getting back on track…. MORE DRAMA!!! There was definitely something building, but this cliffy completely took me by surprise. So much so that I just sat there thinking WTF?

But this was just one of my issues. I had to have a major rant with a friend after reading this because there was so much that I just couldn’t deal with… Ugh, it’s all just too much.

I was really excited about the premise of this story, but I’ve been really turned off by events in this book, the too-fast pacing, and the unbelievability of it all. I want to know what happens, but I’m not prepared to sit and read the next instalment, I’ll just look for spoilers.

2 disappointed stars.

Wow, this series is filled with some beyond shocking surprises and revelations!

Childstar Part 2 by J J McAvoy opens up immediately following the stunning and totally unexpected revelation.
Of all the secrets I thought he was keeping from me, never in my wildest dreams did I think it would be this.

Amelia and Noah are finally together again –

How will the appalling family secrets affect Noah and Amelia as they work at rekindling their relationship?
Having to deal with people who will go to any lengths to destroy the love they have for each other.

Amelia has a lot of baggage and insecurities but when it comes to Noah, she will go to any lengths to save him from the fall-out, after he’s arrested and jailed when saving her from an attempted rape by an ageing and influential rock star.
 photo c4J_Q9Eh_zpsb9ppfrdl.jpg
The intensity of the connection between the two is truly amazing. And their sizzling chemistry in and out of the film set is burning hot.
 photo download_zps7oohzr3r.jpg
And Amelia’s mother….this is a beyond A MOTHER FROM HELL. How Amelia is still talking to her is something I cannot understand…I would have given that mother a kick in the ass a long time ago. This is one of the wicked and dislikable “mothers” ever…..she’s more than evil…..

I am so enjoying Noah and Amelia’s new journey…..they are both such endearing and engaging characters, despite all their flaws and hang-ups.

Great character development, fabulous plot filled with suspense, romance, mystery…..and just more getting more inner snippets of a life in Hollywood!!!

And if you thought that the cliffhanger in Part 1 was a shocker………..well, wait for the cliffhanger in this chapter…it’s

What I like about Childstar is the short and straight to the point way J. J. McAvoy told the story. Non of the draggy scene and filler plot. Even though the story is short, I felt the connection between the main characters. They both have fireworks when they just look at each other. I love the way things ended in Book 1, which is despite the big bomb, it still ended in quite a positive note.

In Book 2, we get a healthy dose of love between Amelia and Noah. Is great to see them together and posing an united front. Even with Noah's little hiccup with the law, it just make them stronger than ever. The only problem I have is I felt sometimes they gone to far while in front of the rolling cameras. I can accept making out and dry humping, but more than that? Hmm... I think there are things that are better reserve for behind close door.

I'm anxious to see more about what would happened after Amelia knew of the secret that Noah had been hiding. But seeing as this is middle of a series, I don't blame that J. J. want to keep the best for last. We don't get much action and craziness yet, though we did get another jaw dropping ending. I was hoping for even more fireworks at Book 3. They both need to go out with a bang.

p/s: Best cameo ever by the way with a certain mafia lady boss.

How more "over-the-top" dramatic can this series be? Jeez.

They actually had sex on the set.

description

Yes,they did it while filming the movie.

description

And sometimes their POVs are actually POVs of the characters which they are portraying in "Sinners Like Us".

description

Also, take a look at this scene when Noah is talking to Amelia's sisters.
"Whether the director says ‘cut’ or not, until I have her, until I’m no longer aching with the need of her, then I can’t stop. So,yes,it’s real, and yes,it’s foreplay—of the best kind.”
I crossed my legs, trying to ignore the aching I was currently feeling for him."

description

And then you have that big dramatic plot twist/cliffhanger.

Seeing all the 5 star reviews...

Going to read the last part just to see how much more nonsense can I take from these characters and this story.

3. 5 stars! Oh its getting better:) crime with romance.I'm liking it.lol oh that ending !I'm jumping into book 3 now:)
safety: totally safe
triggers that might bother some: assualt on the h(attempt rape) and a murder. no other man or other women drama!
oh also they are mAking a Movie together which involves some hot sex scenes. they do have to be naked and pretend to have sex. they actually do it for real.Lol very hot but not sure if I like all that though.lol

I kind of wish I would have waited and read this as a whole complete novel. I love the intensity and the story line, I just want more. I'm not really a small snack kind of reader, I'm more of a gluttonous all you can eat buffet kind of reader. I will say that for such a short installment it really did pack a punch!

Noah and Amelia are back and they are stronger than ever.
Yes you read it right. They are together no matter who wants them apart.

This installment was short but still filled with lots of stuff happening. Twist and turn you won't see coming.

Noah and Amelia grows as a couple and it might be my fav' part. They finally have each other back and nothing can stop them.

“She’s mine. I’m hers. It’s that simple."

I won't say much about the plot because it's something you have to discover for yourself.

You all know by now Melody Callahan is making an appearance. For those who are wondering who that girl is, I have one thing to see: Ruthless People. Read this series now!

But back to our MC. Their couple is more then ever sexy, classy and with every page you turn you want more of them.

Amelia's character was so much stronger and tenacious. She got confidence thanks to Noah and she is ready to face everything that comes her way.

"Freedom—you never know how much you love it until someone tries to take it away."

Childstar 2 was an excellent mix of love, lust, suspense and action. I'm jumping immediately in the third book.

Review

Amazing!!! It was like reading a mini crimmy mixed with a romantic story. This series gets better and better. And the ending!, don't get me started on that. I can't wait for the last part, I'm sure it's going to be mind blowing.

I'm not giving away anything on the plot, since everything would be a spoiler. You will just have to read the book to find out what the fuss is all about. :D

Amelia and Noah are now stronger than ever and although life throughs them new cuveballs at every turn, they don't back down. I felt like Amelias personality grew a lot and we got to see a whole new, more tender side of Noah. Together they are simply fantastic.

All I can say is READ THE BOOK!
