A Western Spanks, Stand-Alone Story
Cameron Sutton has no intention of ever marrying again. Women are nothing but trouble. His brother, however, does need a wife, so he can claim his sizeable inheritance. Cameron takes matters in hand and woos a mail order bride on Ben’s behalf. Somewhere along the way, Cam falls for this girl he’s never seen, and he decides he wants Savannah Walton for himself.

Ben, too, has no intention to marry, ever. No inheritance is worth settling down with a woman. When Savannah arrives, he’ll hand her right over to Cameron. Problem solved. Meanwhile there’s a lovely damsel in distress that needs his attention, a refined girl named Violet Pendleton, the newest saloon girl at the Magnolia. Her innocence is on the auction block, and Ben decides he’s just the man to rescue Violet from ruin.

No mystery here--nor conflict, tension, or story arc. Just a lot of bouncing back and forth between the Points of View of four (count 'em--four) characters. Talk about head-hopping! And yet, there's not really a lot going on, just the repeated vacillation of four people who can't make up their minds, mainly because they don't have a clue how to talk to each other.

And speaking of talk--the author very obviously didn't bother to research the language of the horse-and-buggy days. Characters cuss, converse and make love using all the same words and phrases you would hear on a twenty-first century street corner.

Don't pretend that copying words from a list found on the internet is research. You know anybody can post anything they want in cyberspace, whether it's correct or not. If you really want to get a feel for the language of the past, it's necessary to read the works of authors of the past. In this case, reading all of Mark Twain's works would have done the trick. But hey--maybe the author doesn't believe in reading, just writing gibberish.

I actually really enjoyed this book!
It was a full length western/spanking book about two brothers- Ben and Cameron- who meet their would be brides- Violet and Savannah in unconventional ways- and after loads of sweet scenes and spankings- get the ring on and do the nasty.
It was a fun read. I removed a star because at places it stretched too long but still kept me occupied.
Safe read.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were interesting and the story line was good. I couldn’t put this book down until I finished it.
