Over the last twenty years in pastoral ministry, I have met countless people who were stuck on the side of the road who felt “done” with life. This book is for all those that have been held back by fear, discouragement and failure. This book is for all those who want to be able to break through these real life obstacles in the future and cultivate an unstoppable faith in the midst of it all. If you’ve wanted to not be sidelined by life’s difficulties, this book is for you! I've found that when I stop and sit down with those who have stopped on the side of the road in their spiritual faith, many times they're asking the same question, "God, where are you? I needed you, and you didn't show. I cried out to you in my darkest moment, and got nothing." I’ve said those very words myself. Actually, I yelled them. (More about that later). The point is I’m not writing this book from theory. I’m writing after countless valleys and heartbreaks. I know what it is to be on the ropes taking body blow after body blow hoping that the God in your corner will throw in the towel to make the proverbial beating stop. Some of these knockout punches were brought by individuals, some by just life being life, but honestly most were unfortunately of my own doing. That’s hard to admit, even now. However, God has given me an unimaginable gift. A gift that I know many of you are in desperate need of. Hope. Hope that there can be something meaningful after you’ve picked up all the pieces. My prayer is you’ll experience God’s love and grace bursting over the horizon like a cloudless, blue sky, sunrise in your life. If you’re reading and right now finds you in a good season without any obstacles to hurdle, first let me say, ENJOY IT! Seriously, savor the calm waters. But, let me challenge you to allow this book to put some tools in your life toolbox for when the rapids of life hit. I want to invest in those moments that I know are on their way. Let me challenge you to not put this off. Go ahead and jump in. I don’t want you to spend one unneeded moment paralyzed by fear, discouragement, and failure in this short life. God has a rock solid peace on the other side of all of this. Trust me.
