Emily Dickenson has come to expect the unexpected in her unpredictable life because when it comes to horses, you never know what is going to happen. But the one thing she never expected was to see her mother and step sister again, especially not standing next to her father’s truck in the early morning light with two suitcases and hopeful faces. If they think they are moving in with Emily’s new family they have another thing coming. She likes Missy and Owen and the way things are at Fox Run and she is going to do everything in her power to make sure that doesn’t change.

She also has a show to focus on, a foal to raise and a friend who needs a horse. Only Frankie doesn’t seem willing to want to take on Emily’s project horse Four. In fact she is downright hostile about it and Emily needs to find out why if she can help to mend her new friend’s broken heart.

And she’s been invited to a training session with all the Talent Scout winners. The committee has decided to give her a second chance but some people don’t exactly think that is fair. People like Jess. And Emily wants to find out if Jess really poisoned her pony so she has to go but how can she stop her perfect family from getting ruined when she is not even there?

About the author

Claire Svendsen was born and raised in England, which means she talks with a vaguely cool accent and drinks a lot of hot tea. Obsessed with horses almost before she could walk, Claire spent her summers dragging the old family typewriter into the garden where she would write books about a rich family giving her a horse. Though she would like you to think they were the masterpieces of a young prodigy, the truth is they never went much further than the first chapter and were awful.

Claire likes to think she can write a lot better now. She also finds writing this biography about herself in the third person both weird and alluring all at the same time. Claire now lives in Florida because she doesn't like cold weather and when she's not busy writing, you can find her hanging at the barn with her thoroughbred Merlin.

This book is just amazing. It went from happy to sad and back to happy, then back to sad. I love this sires beacuse it is just completly emotional and makes you want to just keep turning the page over and over. I loved how Emily finaily got her dream. Yet then evrything is messed up again. I just can't say how much I love this book. This has to be one of the best books in the series.

I enjoyed reading this one more than the last book of this series. I was disenchanted with the series and switched over to another author for several months. I decided to read this book with a renewed attitude. It kept my interest and I completed the book in one afternoon, but the storyline still has some far reaching attitudes for the main characters. The inconsistency just doesn't work for me, but I will most likely keep reading to see what happens to Emily's training.
