Love is found in the strangest places... Alexis and Jordan are an incredibly happy couple with great careers and a sex life that would put anyone else's to shame. Passionate, creative lovemaking is a regular activity for the two happy lovers when they aren't cooking and kicking back in their gorgeous home, enjoying a the flames of an unbeatable romance.
But lately, Jordan has experienced the need for something more, a missing element in his emotional life as well as his sexuality. Alexis has sensed the shift too, and she wants to do everything in her power to help infuse their relationship with a new dimension of spice as well as companionship.
Jordan finally gets up the courage to ask Alexis her permission to act on a fantasy that he has harbored for a long time: A casual "arrangement" with Andrew, an unbearably attractive music producer that he meets online.
Alexis is simultaneously turned on and a little afraid of this idea, but she decides to let Jordan go through with it. The results are dramatic, insanely hot and life-changing for all three people involved!
This is a standalone MMF Bisexual Romance Novel with an HEA ending and no cliffhangers!
I sometimes just want some really good smut. This was exactly that. I'm super picky though, I need a little plot, good writing, and hawt sex scenes.
I've been binging on Nicole Stewart books and I'm really glad I am. She is quickly rivaling Selena Kitt (who I bow down to) on the erotica list for me.
If you're in the mood for menage and really smoking hot sex scenes, I loved this one.
Since this is billed as erotica, I was not surprised that the book features a lot of sex scenes. However this book is also prominently billed as MMF, so I was surprised that almost all of the sex scenes were MF. The threesome did not actually occur until near the end of the book and was frankly, really lame. There is also some perfunctory MM. In between the sex scenes the three characters spend a lot of time thinking about sex and talking with each other about having sex. The author notes the characters all develop feelings but never actually shows that happening. Apparently the author intended to build tension though out the book until they finely all got together, but mostly all I felt was boredom as I skimmed yet another redundant sex scene.
The writing itself is competent, but the author has very little to say. Instead of developing the characters or providing any background whatsoever, she just has them keep thinking the same handful of things over and over again. What little relationship development either occurs off-page or is told to us secondhand though conversation. The sex scenes were some of the least imaginative I have come across. Jordan goes down on his girlfriend Alexis and then has missionary sex with her on the bed. As soon as they climax they can't wait to start all over again and then the exact same thing transpires, Jordan goes down on her and then they have missionary sex on the bed. Rinse and repeat. Eventually, Alexis hooks up with Andrew and we get something completely different. He slams her against the door, and then he talks dirty to her while he goes down on her and has missionary sex with her on the bed.
Neither of the guys is remotely likable. Jordan seemed like he had zero spine and Andrew came across as a manipulative doochebag. Alexis mostly needed to have her head examined to find out why she wanted anything to do with either of them.
Not rounding up because, despite the smut (which I will admit I appreciated and kept me from DNFing), I wasn't impressed with the "romance" angle.
In this case, we have Jordan who cheats on his girlfriend, repeatedly, with Andrew - the jack-off buddy he was given permission to meet up with. Andrew, who only feels the vaguest sense of remorse for causing discord in their relationship and then proceeds to convince Alexis to sleep with him too, for revenge of sorts. (Also because he likes the challenge and thinks Jordan is punching above his weight class as Alexis deserves more & better?) And Alexis, who starts out really sympathetic and then loses all my respect; she's open and adventurous and at first I thought it was really shitty of Jordan to abuse that trust...she's out of town several times and he and Andrew don't just fall on each other's dicks right away, it's a gradual exploration that provided PLENTY of time for Jordan to talk to her about his attraction, to engage her in his thoughts and changing feelings, to see if she'd be willing to explore more - which, considering her own fantasies and predilections I think she WOULD have. And then sleeps with Andrew because she can and wants to hurt Jordan.
So yeah, they manage to build a relationship (somehow) out of a bunch of cheating. Despite Jordan's repeated proclamations of love and half-assed apology, Lexie's almost vindictive revenge (which backfired because her having sex with Andrew kind of turned Jordan on) and Andrew's disregard for relationship (because he wanted what he wanted)...how do you trust each other now?
I don't mind cheating, per se. Sometimes it's a useful story element that can show character development or move the plot along. Not here, though. I feel like it would have worked better if only Jordan cheated, or only Alexis - not both. Plus, it was hard to like Andrew.
And I'm all for open relationships when all the parties consent, and for poly relationships when it fits the characters...but Andrew calls Lexie "greedy girl" and repeatedly calls Jordan greedy as well. And while it's kinda hot in the throws of passion, maybe it's my own experience here but it rubbed me as wrong outside the bedroom because it smacks of exactly what many gay and het people accuse bisexual people of.
So, yeah. Not sure I'll read the sequel. I'm only slightly interested because I want to see how they navigate the difficulties of a triad (like how one person feels left out even when they're participating because they're not the center of both partners' attention) and whether that trust issue ever rears its ugly head again.
Book Review: By Kristy Dean September 2015 Title: An Unexpected Third Author: Nicole Stewart About the writing style: This is the First Story that I have read a book by Nicole. I was given an arc for an honest review. This story was very well written. Please be advised that this is a Threesome story before you read it. It is broken into three parts that are all included in this book (thank you). The character had great depth. The parts were from each person’s point of view and how they were adapting to what was going on. The story was easy to fallow and I didn’t want to put the story down. The different views also allowed you to see what it was like for them to step into a new life style. The story was VERY HOT. Lots of great sex scenes with in-depth emotions. I would read this story over and over as well as read other works by this author. Overview: (might have spoilers): The story starts off with Jordan at home working on a computer project. He gets bored and decides to watch some porn. He likes to watch other guy get off. He remembers his college years of the guys all in the room together watching porn and getting off. So he decides to ask is girlfriend, Alexis, aka Lexi if she would mind that he invited someone over and they get off while watching porn. Lexi was fine with it as long as it was only a “Jerk Off Buddy” and nothing else. The second part is from Lexi’s view of a few weeks later. She comes home to find Jordan sucking on some guys cock. She feels betrayed and starts doubting their relationship. That is until she decides to meet the guy, Andrew that her boyfriend was with. She wanted to understand what the difference was and why it’s different? Andrew and Lexi meet and hit it off. Soon as they get the basic questions out, Lexi and Andrew fall into bed together. The third part is Andrews views and what happens in the next several weeks, and what leads up to a threesome.
I love me some MMF, but when in the very first chapter the husband is thinking things like "it wouldn't be cheating because it's not like I'd be hooking up with another girl." I know I'm in the wrong book for me. Not giving it any stars because I don't think that's fair to a book I didn't actually read.
I think it would have been better split up into 3 books from each of their pov instead of only getting to see a little of each. I also think that they didn't show a certain persons big moments in their pov like I feel they should.
I am conflicted about this one. It was hot, but too many MF scenes, I found myself skimming a lot. I wanted more threesome action. There were times I wish this was MM, as the men seemed to have a better relationship than either of them had with Lexie.
It took me a while to get into this story. Alexis and Jordan have a good relationship except Jordan wants a "masturbating partner". I had no idea where this would go but it did end up with an HFN. Andrew enters the picture and of course things fall apart for a while. I'll definitely read Part 2 of this story to see where they finally end up.
I loved reading MMF Bisexual Romance: An Unexpected Third, all about Alexis who works for a publishing company & her boyfriend Jordan who's a Freelance Concept man who works from home. Jordan has been tossing around an idea that he wants a guy friend that he can try things with aside from his girlfriend. Since she's going out of town he'd like to explore this idea, he tells her about it & she agrees he should try it out with her blessing. So Jordan finds the site, joins and then sends a message to Andrew. Andrew is also into Freelance but with music, he also works from home, and definitely wants to meet Jordan. They hit it off, and start spending lots of time together, especially since Alexis seems to be traveling more for the publishing company. The author wrote a very clever story and the characters bring said story to life! Read this book if you like things hot and steamy and like to get wet while reading! I loved it and can't wait to read the next book in this series!
An Unexpected Third by Nicole Stewart was a steamy 5+ stars.
The sex is hot and steamy from the start. The way Nicole describes the feelings that Jordan is having about wanting to experiment with a "jerk off" buddy makes you want it just as bad as he does. And Andrew, WOW. Andrew is the guy that Jordan finds on a website he's been looking at for weeks. I give Lexi a lot of credit because I'm not sure I could have been that encouraging or handled what she eventually walked in on, even though it sounded really hot.
Not sure if I agree completely with what Lexi did but boy did it work out in her favor. Will Lexi and Jordan get their relationship back on track? What will happen with Andrew?
I would love to say so much more but I don't want to give away the whole story. This is a great MMF story that will leave you wanting more. If you love hot sex and MMF this is a MUST READ.
This book is filled with hot steamy scenes! It has M/F, M/M, and M/F/M scenes. Jordan and Alexis have a very healthy sex life as a couple, however Jordan keeps having urges. He finally talks with Alexis about these urges, and surprisingly she has an open mind. Jordan meets Andrew and they become close, and start going outside the boundaries Alexis has set. When they get caught, Alexis is confused. While Jordan and Alexis work on rebuilding their relationship, Alexis ends up formally meeting Andrew. This book is filled with an emotional rollercoaster, as these three people are trying to find their sexuality through each other. I'm not very big on reading M/M scenes but they way Nicole has written these kept me intrigued on what was coming next. I would say add to your reading list.
This was a super hot, super sexy ride! The heat between Jordan and Lexie is strong right from the beginning. When he wants to explore other feelings, she is okay with that, within certain limits. There was some frustration, and a bit of an emotional tug when she was introduced to Andrew. They had to work on their relationships. I loved the flow and getting the point of view from each character was amazing. Great story and great characters that I would love to visit again.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Received ARC of book 2 so I had to read book 1 first. Good thing I did, definitely not stand alone stories. I really appreciate the fact that she writes MFM that includes all possible configurations. I get tired of reading ones that don't portray DP ever. The writing is definitely better than most; however, there are word choices and repetitive phrases that bug the crap out of me. Not enough to not finish the series but enough that if it happens in another set of her stories, I may be done.
Read book 2 from the 7th to 13th. Giving it 3.5 stars. Review to come when book comes out.
Overall I would rate the story a 3.75 and give it a sexy rating (ala La Deetda) of 4. Character development was good which helped the story itself be much more solid and convincing. I found the three principals to be generally likeable and believable. I liked that the author allowed the emerging relationship between Lexi, Jordan and Alex to develop into something more than just f888 buddies. The book lends itself to a sequel. There is a lot of raw sex (some involving MM) so if that offends you, move on. If it doesn't, the book is worth your time.
Sex wise, this was great. So if you're mostly looking for some hot MMF scenes, I can't imagine you would be disappointed. The storyline initially intrigued me, but the dialogue and execution felt overly obvious. We were told of tension, but rarely did I feel it. Though the main angst scene seemed a little too convenient, the initial emotions and reactions felt realistic. However, the resolutions for major issues were easy fixes, or came across that way. Again, this wasn't horrible, it just made it seem more like erotica with a loose plot.
This was an intense drama filled book. Two adults who have everything going g for themselves face the complications of needing more in their relationship due to traveling demands. Both seem to co e to terms that's third is needed just for fun nothing serious. Than all hell broke loose and they fight over the other man. Of course in order to fix IT they become a trio. This is their story.
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review* Holy hell this book is hot! While I am used to reading threesomes centered around the woman, I don't normally go for heavy guy on guy action so I was a bit hesitant. However, this book was non stop erotica from page 1 and I couldn't help but get hooked into the storyline despite my reservations. Hot and bothered start to finish!!!
3.5... I don't mind reading about cheating... but I just couldn't get past the fact that he cheated on her... He talked to her about everything else.. and she was so receptive to everything.. so why couldn't he be honest about his curiosity he had so many chances to tell her..why not that!! SMH
Just average. Too much sex just for the sake of sex and not much character development. In fact I wanted to shake them all and say grow up. No way would any woman react as Lex did upon her discovery.
This book has a wonderful storyline & a very deep connection to all who are involved. Love is love & you can love more than one person at a time & someone of the same gender. Be prepared while reading this book, to be very hot. The chemistry between these three is off the charts.
Interesting way to start off this type of relationship. The story telling is great being able to see how all three of them felt. A nice happy ending. Looking forward to more.
I really liked the way this story was told by the three different characters. Giving you a chance to see what they were thinking. Couldn't put it down I read this in a day. Loved it.
