Omega: Chosen

Rate this book
For social creatures like werewolves, Jack Barnett is about as antisocial as they come. A lone wolf, he alone runs a small campground operation up in the woods, a business passed down from generation to generation. It’s become famous over the years as a place where a wolf can go and safely spend a night under the stars without fear of persecution. Ethan Smith is someone looking for just that, and he walks into Jack’s shop like anyone else. Except, Jack can’t get Ethan out of his head, let alone resist the fact that the little wolf is spending the night on his land, just minutes away.

When he eventually gives in and seeks him out, he finds the omega panting on the ground in heat, begging for an alpha to give him release. Can Jack be that alpha for him? And is Ethan really as innocent as he seems?

Now this is what over the top ABO dynamics consist of - insta love, irresistible heats, and uncontrollable urges.

Very short, simple, a bit cheesy, but still embodying what I like about this trope. Plus KNOTTING. It's free and the conclusion can be found through the author's website.

The writing is good and the story is promising, but this is basically just a preview. It's not a complete story. Authors, please stop cheating and write a real damned book!

UPDATE:
I just read the free sequel, don't bother. It doesn't add anything. The second half feels like utter bullshit and by the end you still don't know anything about the mc's.

The writing wasn't too bad on this, however, it just felt off to me. Then when I got to the ending only to find it wasn't complete, I was entirely disappointed. I hate books that end before the story is even finished. It is a shitty thing to do to readers in an effort to grab more money.

Would have loved to have the rest of the story but the version I have stops, says to get the rest join the mailing list. I did, and there is no rest of the story. Disappointed for sure because I wanted to see how Jack and Ethan actually turned out.

I think fans of the Omegaverse would love it. Wasn't exactly for me. Plus, I am not sure I didn't realize it wasn't complete when I first got it (this annoys me). The second half is available through a link, though, for those interested.

Had a nice start, a pretty interesting wolf mythology, but not really much to go on. Lonely Alpha finds an unexpected mate. Bonding isn't required, they can choose. Some built in conflict based on their location .... could have gone in so many directions.

I didn't realize the story was as short as it was when I chose it. Like other reviewers have said, it's barely more than a chapter. And the follow up sequel is just as short.

If you consider this as an erotic short .... ehhh, you might like this story better. The set up for a quick and convenient sex marathon is there, but after the initial time, everything else is lumped together in a fade to black wrap-up, so erotica readers may still be disappointed.

As freebies go .... I can't complain too much, and I added an extra star because of it being offered for free. And like I said, the world that was created had a lot of promise. The ending was pretty abrupt so I would actually be very interested in seeing if the author extend this plot bunny into a more complete 2nd edition.

This was a short read, which I liked. After reading part one I couldn't wait to download part 2! I couldn't download part 2 fast enough. You have Ethan who is an Omega and going on a camping trip, and then there is Jack an Alpha who owns the camp grounds. After Ethan comes in and pays for his spot Jack can't seem to stop thinking about him. Jack decides to go and check on Ethan. That's where it all begins, where all the drama unfolds. Will they be able to survive each other? Can Jack overcome who Ethan is? Will they be able to work out their differences?

Part One.
This had potential but not enough page count to do the story any justice. It ends on a cliffhanger.

Part Two can be downloaded from the author's webpage. It immediately picks up from the cliffhanger. Again, the potential is there, it's written well enough but feels very rushed and going off in a direction that I'm struggling to understand!!!! It ends on a fade to black with the question of "what the actual fuck is going on" unanswered......

***2016 has been a very unstable year. Not only have I lost favourite role models in droves, I have been into dark places more times than I could count. Yes, I experienced highlights as well but the darkness has had a big impact this year and the only way to keep it at bay was reading, mass reading, back to back books with no stopping and no reviewing. I do apologize to all the writers that I won’t be able to review their books yet but I will get to it. Promise!***

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This story can be read in one sitting. There is some violence not graphic. The characters are being developed since it is the first book. It ends kind of abrupt but you know there is a part 2. I'm looking forward to see what happens.

A sexy short, part 1, and afterward, I could hardly wait to read part 2. The beginning of Jack and Ethan. A lone wolf discovers his Omega under unexpected circumstances. I love what I've read of this author and can't wait to read more. That's how I came across these 'shorts' this morning. If you don't mind a short, fast moving story, I think you will really enjoy this as much as I did.

This is my first time reading any of this author's book. I really enjoyed this one. It is a nice short story with an HEA. It was well written with nicely developed characters. I plan to read more from this author.

Nicely written, but another book that only covers the very very beginning of a story with no build up or climaxing moment.

I enjoyed this story a lot! I like the "omega turns up in heat and alpha has to help" aspect of this story but I really liked how our alpha, Jack, was so turned on by Ethan in his shop. And I loved that Ethan could get through his heat without being taken by an alpha but with Jack chose not to.

I also really liked how the wolves in the area were howling and trying to get to Ethan as Jack was trying to get Ethan back to the house. It added some urgency to the story.

And Ethan's attempt to shift was cute! It lightened the mood a little bit and added some playfulness.
