Alea
Killed suddenly in a car accident, she is given three days by her Universally Appointed Afterlife Social Worker to settle any unfinished business, then her energy is being recycled. How is she supposed to get anything done when through the shadows she keeps hearing a voice calling to her? Stepping into the shadows isn't the hardest thing she will face in her hopes for a second chance at a new life.
Maliuth
Called to the Oracle Temple to try to bring his mate through the shadow, Maliuth is confident it will only take him a day to get her to come to him. Imagine his surprise when three days later she is still resisting him. Knowing that Alea can't stay in her world, he calls to her with all his might.
What they soon realize is that getting Alea to Abondiel is only the beginning.
WARNING: For those who like a longer read... this is a short story.
I wish I could make this part more interesting for you. I would love to say that I am a highly decorated author with loads of accolades to my name. I wish it were so...but unfortunately, it is not true...Yet. I am holding out hope that this will change soon.
In reality, I am just a regular person. I have been working at one job or another since I was sixteen. I am not ashamed to say that is thirty years of 9 to 5 and sometimes 6 to 6. Whatever it took to get the job done. Then about a year ago, I was teaching technology at the grade school level when my teenage daughter self-published a book. I was fascinated with the process. Empowered by seeing her dream come true, I decided to give it a try. I am a huge fan of Romance novels and had even tried writing in the past but had no idea where to go with my ideas. With my daughter's encouragement, I finally got my first book ready and self-published.
Did the whole process change me? Not really. I still get up and put my pants on one leg at a time. I still work hard and take what life hands me. The only difference now is that I have a deeper appreciation for all the hard work self-publishing takes. Being in front of the computer, writing my stories, is still my escape. I hope in some small way, that my stories are entertaining and an escape for the reader as well.

I want to thank you for taking the time to read my author bio. I hope that if you liked my stories that you can leave a kind review.
I loved Stormy McKnight's first series. I really did not like the waterworld one, though. I took a chance and pre-ordered Maliuth and was not disappointed.
This new world is so intriguing, so full of possibilities that I sincerely hope the author camps here for awhile. I love her vision of the afterlife and the idea of being called to a person. Just a great tale and I cannot wait for the next one.
This was a sweet, sexy, paranormal sci-fi novella. I was confused by Besides the heroine, the characters are one-dimensional. The plot is fast paced so most of what happens is reactional with sex in between. The writing is a bit clunky and skippy at times but the story is entertaining. The ending is a mild cliffhanger setting up the next book. I will read the next one.
