Two months after her boyfriend, Joey, died in a car accident, Linda found out she was pregnant. Unable to find a job, Linda is getting desperate. Not only will she have a baby to support, but her very laidback roommate needs her to start paying her share of the rent. After talking with a friend, she's able to get an interview for a secretary job at Rockwell Marketing, a billion dollar company. She gets hired on the spot and starts work on Monday, which she is nervous and excited for. When she gets home, she finds out that her roommate knows she is pregnant.
Samson is very dedicated to his work. He believes in a strong work ethic and enjoys having complete control in everything that goes on in his company. His high standards in the workplace have caused six replacements for secretary in two months. Most of them he doesn't even learn their names, but for some reason he can't get Linda Connors out of his head.
This was NOT a book. It was like reading the first chapter in a book, and the story ending. I noticed this is a series. You get the first one free, then you pay $2.99 for the next one. This is a series I will pass on. I hate when a story is chopped up into small books, and you HAVE to buy the next one to finish reading the story. This is just another way for them to make more off the books.
I'm ok with purchasing cliffhanger books that leads to another story. But the book was a complete book. Not books that are just a few chapters at a time that put together is the whole book. Not how I like to purchase my books. I'm an avid reader. Totally loves to read. Love to give good reviews. But I could only give these 5 chapters 2 stars because the story line so far is good but you have to purchase the other chapters to get the complete story. Just not worth it to me.
It’s not a bad story...but it’s a serial, not even a complete book.....it’s only about 5 chapters....if it was a series that would be one thing, but it’s not. It is one of h the is things where instead of making a whole book it was broken into separate books & only reason I could think for doing this is to try to get more $ by doing it this way instead of just charging for 1 whole book.
Even considering this is only part 1 of the story, this isn't a book. This was just a sample. 2 months was summed up in 2 chapters and this "book" ends there. Very disappointed. Wish I could give negative stars. Danielle Jamesen has now joined my "Never Again" list of authors.
This book was really sad at first. But now I'm really interested in it, and sadly it's over. Is there more to the story? If so, where?? I thought it was a really good book. Just wish there was more. I see you.
Despite the reviews that were posted on this lovely book I took a chance on it. I was looking for some fun short romance readers to get me back into the mood of Contemporary romance. I found it within this short story. I figured that their would be more to the story than the sweet short delightful beginning that I experienced. I found myself automatically searching for Danielle Jameson when I got home to see if there was a part two.
From the beginning Joey's death has a huge impact on Linda and her need to keep the baby, find her footing is such a touching story. I would recommend this to all my friends who are looking for sweet, short romances to read during their journeys to work, home or wherever they are going and the journey isn't long.
The cheesy title put me off a bit from downloading the book but seeing as it was free I decided to try anyway. I am glad I did as the story wasn't cheesy but quite enjoyable and fluidly narrated. Just not happy to discover it wasn't a short story (as I thought when I downloaded it) but the first part of a longer story...
This story is obviously part of a larger erotica tale. There was however nothing to hint at that in this short story, as that is all this qualifies as. In fact there wasn't even enough of an enticement for me to read the rest.
Ehhh. This was okay, but not woohoo in my opinion. It might be partly because as a part 1 it didn't present a finished plot but still... I probably won't be finding the rest of the series.
having a book of a serie for free is great, making it only 37 pages might not be the smartest thing. although it is nice, it is missing body and I'm not sure if this is such a great hangout for the rest of the series.. at least I'm not going to read the rest...
