“The most powerful spark is the one that can reignite the fire that has long gone out.”
After losing his fiancé, Mitchell Taylor abandoned everything that reminded him of her and retreated home to Las Vegas, Nevada. Now his life consists of three things: drowning his pain in the bottom of a vodka bottle, tattooing bodies in the shop he co-owns with his best friend and pissing off their office manager, Shelby. Not only does she infuriate him by challenging everything he does, but fighting with her pushes back the ghosts that haunt him.
Taking control of her future at a young age, Shelby Winston never let anyone or anything get to her. Until now. Mitch is unpredictable. One minute he is drunk and making her want to pull her hair out, the next he is doing something crazy like saving her life.
While every argument between the two has everyone around them waiting for bloodshed, something else is bubbling beneath the surface. There’s no going back once you cross that line, and once the tension erupts into something else, it could change everything forever.

“My heart lodges in my chest the second my eyes land on Mitch and catch him watching me. The smile that was playing on his face just seconds ago is gone, replaced by something drastically different.”

5 inked stars!!!! I love this series, but I think this book is by far my favorite one!! Cat Mason is an outstanding author and this series proves it!!!

I can’t begin to describe how much I love Mitch and Shelby!!! Shelby is such a bad@ss chick, and as I read I felt like we were the same person! She’s very relatable and I love she doesn’t put up with anyones cr@p!!! Mitch is a broken man and nothing can bring him back to his old self. Until Shelby shows up. Something starts to light up in him when she’s around. I loved this book so much. I loved the heart that was put into this book, there were no dull moments as you read. I’m a huge fan of Cat Mason and this book has shown me why!!!

This series MUST be read in order! It feels like the previous two books were only leading us up to the rare beauty that is Solitude. It's what we've been waiting for ever since meeting the broken and shattered Mitch in Gravity. We knew then that something bad had went down with his ex-fiance, but had no idea what it was. Only that it had fucked him up seemingly beyond repair and he was wasting his life drowning in alcohol at strip clubs trying to forget. In Significance we found out exactly what made Mitch who he is, not just the story of his past relationship but also his time in the service and other personal relationships both good and bad that still weighed on him.

After the last book I was a sobbing mess, messaging the author about how horrible it was that I had to experience that and I so desperately needed to see Mitch healed and loved. When I first started this book Shelby was the last person on earth I wanted him to be with. You know how in some books the heroine is supposed to be "strong" (at least that's what the author is trying to convey) but in reality she's just a self-centered bitch? I know you know what I'm talking about...we've all seen it and I've talked to other readers who feel the same way- being a bitch doesn't make you a strong person. My heart fell during the first few pages of this book because I thought for sure that Shelby was a self-pitying, selfish, bossy bitch who I was supposed to think was sassy and didn't take shit from anyone. I was so disappointed that I almost stopped reading...only to realize that I was SO WRONG! I didn't start out giving her a fair chance because she struck me wrong right off the bat, but the more I read the more I got to know her and the more she proved that she was far from being what on the surface she had appeared to be. She turned out to be the strength for Mitch that he lacked within himself at the time.

When Mitch was met with yet another catastrophic hit in his already beaten down life Shelby's true colors came through and I knew that she was the one to mend all of his finely shattered pieces back together into something even more than what existed before. When she worked her way into his soul she left a piece of her in there permanently so that he's never alone again in any way. It was beautiful. I cried, I laughed, I apologized in my head over and over again for thinking so badly of her in the beginning.

This is one of those times when I wished Amazon gave you limited opportunities to give a very few books MORE than 5 stars, because when you compare it to other 5 star reads it just blows them out of the water. This whole series is 5 stars but book 2 and book 3, both Mitch's story, deserve a 5+.

Favorite Quotes:

“I have no memories, or even a photograph, of the woman I not so lovingly refer to as my incubator.”

“Chicks before the Pricks and all that. Besides, you’re not a secretary, Shel, you’re a badass office Pricktator.”

“I clench the fork in my hand like a @# shank. Visions of stabbing him like a prison inmate who stole my pie enter my head.”

“A monthly punctuation survival kit… The word period just isn’t enough to describe the horrific things that happen to a woman’s body during that time. It’s all too clear that a man coined that term. Sure, it ends your good time for a few days a month, so it can’t be a comma or anything like that… I like to view our monthly curse as more of an exclamation point. Because the first sentences out of a woman’s mouth when she gets hers ends in one.”

“I faked it. Clenching and moaning at all the right times, I stroked his ego like he was going off to war while secretly shaking my head in disbelief at the absolute waste of snake.”

“I decide to shower since I look like a circus clown who drove a convertible through a car wash. I can’t help laughing at myself when I look in the mirror. My makeup has streaked down my face so badly that I wouldn’t be shocked if my nipples weren’t rocking my eyeliner and lip gloss.”

“I know exactly what this is. It’s a bitchervention.”

“I realize now why there were pieces of Mitch’s puzzle that were missing. It’s because it is where I fit, where the parts of us belong in his life that we will put together as a couple.”

My Review:

Solitude had me either barking, snorting, or whimpering as I read. Ms. Mason uses her craft to elicit every type of emotion. While poor Mitch is a miserable husk of his former self through much of the story, the dialog, snark, and clever banter created a near permanent smirk on my face. I adored Shelby, she is a feisty spitfire and full of spunk and clever wit. She challenged and sparred with Mitch who had all but shut down in his downward spiral of grief. Their story and path was not an easy one as they are both stubborn and passionate people who basically cannot speak without profanity and invectives, even with their endearments. The writing was absorbing and well-paced, the story was entertaining, heartbreaking, and humorous – does that sound contradicting? Well, it was, and it worked, and I loved it and wanted more. Cat Mason has a new fan-girl.

5 Brilliant stars for Cat Mason's Solitude!
Mitch's heartbreak finally comes to an end in this powerful story. The roller coaster of pain ,angst, twists and turns we've ridden on from Mitch's loss in Significance, his shattered soul in Gravity and everything he goes through to finally pull it together to find ultimate love and happiness in Solitude makes this one my favorite!!!
Cat Mason is incredible! Absolutely amazing writing!Love love love every one of these characters! So genuine and real you want to hang out at Pricks and watch it all happen!
I don't review with rewritten synopsis or spoilers! All I can say is "spoil yourself and one-click" Cat Mason's 5 star Artistic Pricks Trilogy. There filled with scorching hot sex, badass smartmouthed females, gorgeous inked alphas and enough HEA to make you glad you did!!!

In this third book of the Artistic Pricks series by Cat Mason, we find Mitch once again fretting over someone who has been shot. Clearly he cares for Shelby, so why he is so nasty to her at times makes no sense. Maybe it is one of those deals where they like each other so much and neither wants to admit to their attraction. Mitch has been messed up for so many years after the death of Becky on their way to get married, that maybe he has lost the ability to be kind. Who knows? Hopefully we will see them get together by the end of the book. What happens to Mitch after he takes Kelly's life? Watching the banter back and forth between Mitch and Shelby now makes it more funny than before. It is neat to see the interaction between Mitch and his mother for the first time. Oh my word, the things that go through Mitch's head sometimes are a hoot. It is really hard to watch Mitch so messed up over Becky's death so many years later. It makes me want to cry, seeing how eaten up he is on a daily basis about it. Everyone tries to tell him that life goes on and that he should move on with life basically, but it seems like he does not know how to let go and live again. What's a girl to do when she is asked by a man to not leave him alone, no matter how much he makes her angry? What happens when Shelby gets a call in the middle of the night from a police officer about Mitch? Once she gets him home, things really get intense and interesting. You're really going to have to read this book to find out what happens, because there are times you will want to laugh, curse, and cry with the way Mitch acts and Shelby's responses to his actions. Keep an eye out for when things truly get real when Becky's father Frank dies and Mitch goes back for his funeral. Who shows up? What happens? What realizations does Luke come to with regards to Mitch?

I've needed to continue on with Mitch's story since the moment I finished significance...

He truly was a broken soul who believed there was no healing to be had.... has he was weigh down with guilt and sadness ....

My heart bleed for him, all I wanted to do was wrap him up and make it all better..... but along came a sassy, mouthy spit fire who truly was Mitch's match.....

Shelby was a feisty independent lady who had never been loved.... her relationship with Mitch was fiery, their spark could be felt jumping off the pages..... but any relationship wasn't ever going to be easy whilst Mitch had his demons to fight.....

Has perfect as Shelby was for Mitch.... He needed to find himself and like himself before he could truly be with someone else .... Right till the very last word I hoped Shelby worked her magic and got Mitch to see what was right in front of him....

This story was jam packed with so many emotions.... I felt emotionally worn out by the end of it.... I tear'd up, I smiled, I laughed, I hoped and I screamed yet I couldn't put the book down and simply devoured it....

I can't wait to see what ms mason produces next because she just nailed emotional romance....

I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review. This story has so much in it. Angst, love, suffering. Everything that makes a great book. The writing is great, you become immersed in the story and with the characters. You feel the agony that Mitch tries to drink away and you feel the love that Shelby has to give. I personally love Shelby. She is a strong woman who takes crap from no one. Yet behind that strong, foul mouthed exterior is a heart that is soft. She is an amazing friend and colleague. The kind of friend you want at your side, no matter the circumstances. She recognizes in Mitch what even he can no longer see. This book is part of a series and should be read in order for maximum benefit. If you love books with strong characters, great writing and of course a wonderful HEA. So far this is my favorite book by Cat Mason. She is a wonderful writer and the book seems so real. Great job!! This is definitely a 5 star review for me.

A fantastic story! Cat Mason has fast become one of my favourite authors and this story really had me hooked from the very beginning and I didn't want it to end. I even literally fought to stay awake last night, so I could consume as much of this book as possible before giving into sleep!

The story itself was gritty, hard, frustrating, hot, funny, sweet and so much more, and one that I would really recommend to everyone. Although it was tough to read at times, that for me just made the story even more perfect and I can't wait to read more from Cat Mason in the future. :-)

**I want to say that this is a SERIES so they should be read in order to understand what is going on and know who the characters are. **

I’m so happy that I read this series altogether. After reading Significance I was bawling like crazy and hopped right in Solitude because I had to know more about Mitch. Mitch is a man so haunted by his past he struggles to cope day to day. Mitch tries to drown out all his demons by drinking, and staying drunk, but still nothing helps fight the images of his fiancé and now the images of Shelby laying in his arms as the life drains from them.

Mitch has 99 problems and a bitch is one. Mitch becomes super protective over Shelby and wants to do everything in his power to keep her safe. Shelby and her feisty ways don’t make it easy on Mitch. Both of them together and the banter they share always makes me laugh. Shelby is one strong women that doesn’t take shit from no one including Mitch.

After a night out drinking Shelby gets a call that she needs to come pick up the drunk bastard because he is out of control. That night Shelby sees a different side to him and begins to wonder who Mitch really is.

Mitch never really lets anyone see beyond that facade he puts up. Right now, that isn’t there, and part of me wonders how much of the real Mitchell Taylor I even know at all.

After that night things start to change between the two of them and neither know how to deal. Will Mitch finally see that life goes on and it’s ok to let people in? Will he ever love again? Could Shelby be the right person to help Mitch out of the past that haunts him?

He is like a puzzle that I am trying to put together. I find a piece here and there, but they are all edge pieces.

I loved this book and getting to see what is going on inside Mitch’s head. I loved Mitch and Shelby together, they are both very strong welled and neither is ever willing to back down from situations. Characters like that make for a great story to be told, and that Cat sure did do that.

Solitude held me captive until the very end. This book made me feel, I love books that get to me. It also has plenty of hot-n-sexy thrown in there to steam up the ol’ kindle. I also enjoyed getting to see all the characters from the previous books and what is going on in their lives. The banter that the whole group shares is one that will having you laughing out loud and turning the pages. I would and have recommended this series to fellow readers, it’s a series I feel more people need to find out about. If you like tattooed bad boys first pick up a copy of Gravity and work your way down to Solitude. I promise you will not regret it.

I received this book for an honest review.

Mitch…What a broken broken soul. After reading the novella about his and Becky’s love story, I was devastated. I couldn’t imagine him finding a love like theirs in his lifetime. When we meet Shelby in Luke’s book, I loved her mouth and sass. OMG Is she sooo perfect but then to see her as Mitch’s “one” I was kinda nervous. However, after seeing them together, Me and Luke, both were like OOOH YEAH IT WORKS!!! She refuses to let him have a pity party. She calls him out on everything and she is not going to apologize for the tough love. Man, Mitch puts her through the ringer with his heart break. We understand his refusal to move on but at the same time I so wanted…scratch that…needed to THROAT PUNCH HIM!!!

Ok so what the heck am I even talking about? Well this book pics up RIGHT at the end of Luke’s book. Do you need to read it to understand, nope but the story of Mitch and Shelby starts there so it wouldn’t hurt plus Luke is YUMMY!!! Mitch has become Shelby’s one woman Mr. Fix-It. He has assigned himself as her personal shopper and whatever she needs done he will do it guy. She is livid. Why is he treating her this way. Well then Mitch is drunk as a skunk, so Shelby is who picks him up. That night everything changes. She can SEE him and SEES his walls and the crap front he puts on for everyone. She pushes him and he pushes back. When they finally collide………….W.O.W.Z.E.R.S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well Mitch freaks out after what happens and the fact his walls went crumbling down!! He fights their relationship while she pushes him to accept it.

I liked the fact that at times Becky was there…the Now and Later wrapper Mitch finds and her journals that Shelby is gifted. The scene that stole my breath (and misted my eyes) was the dream scene…...yeah when you read it you will sooooo know the scene I am talking about.

Love, that I all I can say about this amazing book, LOVE. I loved Mitch in the first book of this series, Gravity. I knew that him being broken would tear me apart and let me tell you his story will do just that it will tear you apart and then put you back together as he gets put back together by Shelby's love and smart sassy mouth.
Now I know you can read this book all on it's own and understand what is happening, but to really understand Mitch and his pain all three books must be read. They are amazing all on their own but as a unit as a whole story you have to experience it all. Which is what I have done, and as I squint to rite this review my am filled with joy that I did read them all together to mee the men of Artistic Prick and their women.
But Shelby and Mitch, well they are just what makes romance novels tick for me.Yo have a man that is truly broken from the inside but all hard on the outside dying to fond the missing pieces he lost so violently. He banter with Shelby in gravity lead you to believe that there was something more but when they finally realize it, man the sparks that flew off the page were scorching.
Cat's writing is a spell that is cast over you as you read the love and pain that pours from the pages of this book. You won't be able to stop reading, you to will be dreaming of Becky and her love for the man that is in so much pain in this story. Your heart will bleed with the words Cat gives you about how he struggles to do right by Shelby. But most of all you will love how she takes a couple that couldn't stand the sight of one another to heights they never thought possible. That is the gift that Cat Mason has given us with this series. I hope Cat that we get to hear that Skinner and his mohawk will find some sassy mouthed woman to tame him as well, Maybe Ember????
If I could give this book and series more than 5 stars I would. It is simply put, LOVE.

Solitude

Cat mason

Mitch was watching her just lay there and being helpless is killing him. Then Shelby moves and wakes up, he gets the nurse and finds out she is ok. So she drinks some water and then starts to ask questions. Yes her friend has died that part killed her. To know that her friend was gone not coming back. But then she remembers she got shot and told Mitch to not let her get shot again. Two months later she is going back to work. But I have a feeling Mitch and Shelby's story is so beginning.

Mitch has felt so guilty about losing Becky. The way he felt about Becky was so amazing. She loved him and he loved her and no one could take that. That was until she was shot. He feels like he is a murderer but what does he know. Shelby's keeps telling him he not a murderer but he doesn't believe her. Shelby is always looking for ways to piss Mitch off. She wants him to know that she is playing hard to get in my eyes. Through one crazy drinking night Mitch gets a ride from Shelby and they end up sleeping with each other. Then he gets the call. His late dienes grandfather passed away. He takes off and from here Shelby learns a lot from Becky. And her best friends. She then learns that she loves Mitch and has for a while and she told hi. That. After a night of lovemaking he gets up and sees that Shelby Has Becky's diary and feels very betrayed. And gos off. He tells her to leave and then she's in a accident. Fri. There he knows he loves her and will do anything. To keep her love. After they admit that they need each other they make a new path.

I love the series. I love how we are able to see each person's pain and actually feel it. I reared up in one scan. I. All I would so have to say cat mason you get 5 stars

WOW! Just WOW!!

I love everything Cat has given us! This by far is her best work to date!! Shelby is the most awesome leading woman I have ever read!

There is a little bit of Shelby in all women! She is smart, curvy, cocky, and doesn't take crap from anyone! She also has a huge heart that she puts on the line for an unreachable man.

Mitch is hollow. Broken. Just a shell of a man. There is nothing that can bring him back to life. He lost it all. But when Shelby is around there is a spark. A spark that disappeared. Is she strong enough to hang on for the ride?

This is a wonderful book of second chances and rebuilding. Putting life back together when it crumbles around your knees.

Wonderfully written, magnificently told.

Shelby and Mitch will rock your world!!

Shelbyisms:

"Attention: Effective Immediately"
"I'm sorry, but nor more f@ks shall be given today. Our current f@k distribution policy doesn't provide rainchecks. I encourage you to turn around, head directly for the exit, and find someone who gives a damn"

"Oh, great. Now, I'm talking to a ghost. Someone call one-eight-hundred-chattin'-up-a-dead-chicks, in case I need a spotter"

"Honestly my conscience is probably sitting there with popcorn and a beer enjoyig the show. She's a whore"

LOL funny! Just an all around fantabulous book!!

5 Stars!

Ok so I am a HUGE fan of this author. I ran across her Shaft on Tour series a while back and I was blown away. Her books are sweet, sexy, naughty, angsty, full of drama, emotional, makes you shed a tear or two, and always have one sexy, alpha, sweet leading man that will become a top book boyfriend only to give another! This book is just another reminder why I keep coming back to Cat.

This book was amazing. It grabbed me from the beginning and sucked me in until the end and still left me wanting so much more. Mitch and Shelby were so beautiful and amazing in this book. I completely fell hard and fast for both of them and found myself on the edge of my seat, flipping pages fast. This book flowed well and it grabbed me from page, not letting go until it was long over.

This is Mitch and Shelby's story. If you read Significance, then you know Mitch has a story to tell. He had love only for it to be ripped away. But love and fate are giving him a second chance to have it all once again. Enter Shelby. These two are like fire and ice. Their chemistry is undeniable. Mitch will make you fall hard and Shelby will have you rooting for her. Get ready for an explosive ride.

I highly recommend this book!

5 Prick-tastic stars!

Just when I thought my heart couldn't hurt anymore for Mitch after reading Significance Cat Mason reached into my chest ripped out my heart, stomped on it and then handed it me back wrapped in a bow!

Everyone needs a Mitch! And a Shelby! After first meeting him in Gravity it's fair to say I wasn't that overly keen on him. Obviously there was an underlying issue as to why he was how he was and the first book only really touched on it a little bit, it certainly didn't divulge much but needless to say my curiosity was piqued and I had a feeling I would either hate him or love him...

Mitch's heartbreak finally comes to a compelling conclusion. Firmly securing my seat on the rollercoaster of emotions that I've experienced throughout the Artistic Pricks Series I was ready for this final journey and what a soul searing journey it was!

Cat Mason delivers another brilliantly executed piece of writing. Mixing angst, heartbreak, witty humour and some pretty steamy sex scenes with a hot inked alpha and a sassy, kick ass heroine! A story that is relatable on so many levels and characters that are instantly connectable. A definite must read!

Review from Abibliophobia Anonymous Book Reviews

This is the third book in the Artistic Pricks series. You really should read these in order. This is the best one yet!

What Mitch has gone through, it breaks my heart. I completely understand why he is the way he is. The way he lost Becky, and with what happened at the end of the previous book, he is spiraling.

Shelby is a huge smartass. She’s a strong chick. Mitch annoys her.

That is until she realizes she has fallen for him.

This is a rollercoaster ride. It’s not easy, luckily Shelby is a fighter though.

“I work on your car so that I can trust it won’t break down and leave you stranded without me. I fill your tank because the last person I watched walk in to pay for gas, didn’t walk back out. I know I’m an asshole. I’m also a stubborn pain in the ass and, more often than not, I’m going to get my way. You’ve got a smartass mouth that drives me out of my mind, but you’re also the strongest person I’ve ever known. You didn’t give up on me when, God knows, I wouldn’t have blamed you if you did. You see me. You have this ability to cut through all the bullshit. You see everything I try so hard to hide, and what fuckin’ blows my mind is that you love me anyways.”

This is definitely a couple I want more of!

I have been so anxiously awaiting this book since reading the first two in the Artistic Pricks ink series, that I literally jumped for joy as soon as it hit my kindle!
If you have read the previous books then you know how difficult a book this will be!
Mitch lost the love of his life and is struggling to come to terms with everything, I just want to give him a big hug tbh. Coping is not really his strong suit, he puts on a face but inside, that man is extremely sad.
Solitude does start straight after Gravity ended....and
This book was incredible! Characters that tugged at your heart!!
I loved Shelby, she was a force to be reckoned with! Her drive, her smart mouth, her genuine caring manner was what I loved about her! Some of the stuff that came out of her mouth was funny!
In all seriousness though I felt that Mitch and Shelby were two halves made whole! What happens in this story will make you think life is short....that you should want the happy parts not the sad ones!
Cat Mason has done herself proud by writing Mitch's story!

The name of the tattoo shop is API and although it stands for Artistic Pricks Ink, I think it could also stand for Amazing, Phenomenal, Incredible! This story is about Mitch who is a living, breathing human being with a broken heart. Somehow he still keeps moving, but it takes effort. The one small spark he finds in his day is his back and forth banter with the shop's manager, Shelby. When he is forced to make a life and death decision, old wounds are torn open and he now needs to try and work through these new issues. These characters are written so very well they feel like living, breathing people and you will be carried away in this story. It is one heck of a ride and it is worth every second. I loved hearing about the characters we have already come to love and get a glimpse in how they are doing. But, Mitch and Shelby are fantastic together. They are both broken, yet when they are together they seem to make each other whole. I LOVED this story and this series will hopefully never end because they are beautiful. They is heat, love, struggle, and even a little humor. So very well done!

The story has laughs, pain, suspense, betrayal, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Gravity (Artistic Pricks Ink, #1)
Significance (Artistic Pricks Ink, #2)

This is Shelby and Mitch’s story. Mitch has to take care of Shelby. The steps he was forced to take to protect her haunt him. With his past already haunting it sends him into more of a spiral. Shelby tries to help him out but Mitch is just pulling her down also. After one time together even their friendship falls apart. Now the more they are around each other the more tension is there. When Mitch shuts Shelby out after she makes him aware of her feelings the tension is even worst. Just when they might have gotten a second chance a misunderstanding ruins it all. Can these two find love with the pasts they have endured? Can they try and repair their friendship in order to try a relationship or is everything about to come crashing down?

I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

Solitude is book three in the Artistic Pricks Ink series by Cat Mason.
I give it an intense and emotionally exhausting 5 stars.

How many times will I break before the pieces are too broken to pick up?

This story has so much in it, your heart will be tested. You can’t help but feel for Mitch and what he is going through. However, he meets his match in Shelby.

I loved Shelby she was perfect for Mitch. She is independent and takes no sh$t from anyone. Her sassiness and mouth are off the charts hilarious.
She helps put Mitch back together again. By far not an easy task.
She is definitely the type of friend that I would want by my side.

“I see the woman who has torn down every one of my defenses and stripped me bare.”

Mitch and Shelby challenge each other and are perfect together. If you love books with strong characters, great writing and of course a wonderful HEA, you will want to read this great series. I will definitely be following Cat Mason.

This was an incredible read, following on from where 'Gravity' finished but moving forward with Mitch's story. We see him in 'Gravity' hit rock bottom of the pits of despair and we see the events that led him there in 'Significance'. Here his struggles to live continue but there is hope in the form of the very sassy Shelby, who gives back as much she gets.

The journey he goes on takes him well out of his comfort zone and challenges his own beliefs and feelings at every turn. He is hurting badly but needs to deal with the hurt and start living again. Shelby manages to chip away at the wall he has built up slowly and surely with her sass and no nonsense attitude.

This was an emotional read but the banter between Shelby and Mitch gives plenty of laugh out loud moments too. It was equal parts frustrating and sweet as they both battle the feelings they develop for each other.

I was given Solitude as an ARC for an honest review. I have to say Mitch & Shelby are a very unique couple. You would never think a relationship could work between them. They are so funny at times with the way they fight & call each other names, you'd think they would just as soon kill each other, before they would start feeling any growing attraction for each other. I love how protective Mitch is over Shelby & how he drives her crazy with the sweet things he does for her. Shelby is a very strong woman & keeps everyone on their toes with her smart mouth, Oh My God the Shelbyisms are GREAT!!! Mitch & Shelby are the perfect couple once they get past all the emotional hurdles that are put in their way. Their story will pull at your heartstrings one minute & hit your funny bone the next....Great book!! Definitely a Must Read!!

Absolutely wonderful!! I love all of Cat's books but in no way did I expect this one to affect me like Solitude did. I sat down to read this and didn't stop unless I was getting more Kleenex. It is such a strong emotional read.

I loved the characters, Shelby is such a strong female that I fell in love with her. She's smart, feisty and a total bad ass. And who couldn't love Mitch? Dark, handsome and in need of being saved.

I loved everything about this book, the writing is wonderful, the story line will tug at your heart and have you screaming at your kindle. I highly recommend this book and series. All of Cat's books are great if you haven't read anything she's written you are truly missing out.

I was really anxious to read Mitch's story. The love he shared with Becky was so beautiful and honest that losing her the way he did was just heartbreaking. So going into this book I knew I would be on a ride of emotions.

Mitch is a sad and depressed man who is just trying to survive in the world without the love of his life. Shelby is a woman we all could admire as she knows who she is and what she wants out of life. I felt so many different emotions for these two characters and I was glued to my kindle to see if the two of them would ever turn to each other. Cat did such a good job with Mitch that you can't help but feel for this man. I really enjoy her writing style and would recommend this book and this series. I can't wait to read more from her.

One of the best decisions I've made recently was when I answered an email about reviewing this book for a blog tour. Even though I don't have a blog they were still wanting people to read and put their reviews. OMG this book was simply outstanding. I ran out of time to read book one so I will be going back and reading book one soon. As you can tell you don't have to read book one to enjoy this one but I will be going back to read book one. I felt like I was in the story it was so real. I fell in love with Mitch and Shelby in the first chapter and just so happy how the story ended.

I have fallen in love with the Artistic Pricks series.
Each book brings you closer and in deeper with the characters. Mitch's book takes the cake.
Never have a felt such strong emotions for a male lead in a book. Devastating doesn't even begin to describe the hand this man has been dealt.
Will he ever find happiness for himself? Feel for anyone what he once felt? Just when you think things can't get any worse something amazing happens.
I read this book from start to finish in one sitting. Hooked from the get go. 5/5 stars! Cat mason slayed my heart with this one!

Mitch gained my attention in Gravity. He stole my heart in Significance. Now it all follows up; good, bad and sad in Solitude.
Reckless and cold with a passion that still burns damn hot.
Shelby, bless her; feisty and crude mouthed. Broke down Mitch's walls all the way to their foundtaion.
Hold on tight for one hell of a wild ride...

Solitude, by Cat Mason can easily be read as a standalone, but is preceded by two books that set up the story each in a different way. In Gravity we got to see Mitch in the background falling apart by night, yet 'man up' at the end when his friends and coworkers are threatened, and his response when the beautiful and sassy Shelby is injured leaves little doubt that there's something building between the two of them, even if neither of them realizes it.

Then in Significance, we're told the story of Mitch's first great love, and the reason why he's the broken man attempting to drown his sorrows in a bottle that we saw in Gravity.

Told from alternating POVs, Solitude tells the story of how the relationship between Mitch and Shelby evolves after Mitch saves her life. Saved it, but not in time to stop her being seriously injured. Where once there was a friendly, if infuriating banter between them, bordering on animosity, now things are ... not quite the same, and neither can really put there finger on what's changed or what to do about it.

Shelby would have to be one of the sassiest and entertaining characters I've encountered. Though she's pivotal in the story of Mitch's healing, she certainly does it in her own, unique, take no prisoners kind of way. All of which leads to THE MOST AWESOME FIRST KISS I'VE EVER READ!!!

Like the other two books in the series, Solitude is its own self contained story. This one is a story of one man learning to find closure when a epic love story is cut off too short, and the woman who never really expected to find love in the first place, both being blindsided by each other.

With two separate books setting up this story, Cat set the bar high, with expectations of a grand story fitting of all of the teasers that had been interspersed throughout. On those expectations, she delivered, picking up on themes and subplots from both and developing them masterfully into a work that felt natural, whole, and ... right.

I simply devoured this book, almost finishing it in one sitting but eventually passing out at around 2am, only to wake up and get straight back into it.

It really was that good.
