Ziamara nearly died, but a distantly-related vampire put a stop to that. After training to live safely among humans, she returns to her hometown of Delphic Cove to settle into her afterlife. Things are as normal as can be, until a pack of werewolves try to tear her limb from limb.
She survives the assault but returns home to find her house destroyed. Her grandmother is missing, and the only ones who can help her are the very werewolves who threatened her afterlife! Neither Ziamara nor the wolves are excited to work together, but one member of the pack has caught her eye. At a time when the new vampire needs to focus, the only thing she can think about is him.
When Ziamara and the pack get closer to the truth about her grandmother’s disappearance, they find something more ancient, powerful, and deadly than they ever imagined…
Saved by a Vampire is a standalone novel in the Transformed saga, a series of young adult paranormal romance novels. If you like feisty vampires, enchanting werewolves, dystopian post-war settings, and pulse-pounding thrillers, then you’ll love Stacy Claflin’s latest twist on the typical vampire and werewolf tale.
Stacy Claflin writes about complex women overcoming incredible odds. Whether it's her Gone trilogy of psychological thrillers, her ongoing Transformed paranormal saga, or her Seaside Hunters sweet romance series, Stacy's three-dimensional heroines shine through.
Decades after she wrote her first stories on construction paper and years after typing on an inherited green screen computer that weighed half a ton, Stacy realized her dream of becoming a full-time author.
When she's not busy writing or educating her kids from home, Stacy enjoys watching TV shows like Supernatural, Pretty Little Liars, and Once Upon a Time.
I loved it but I was confused on a few spots like the main one... what exactly happened between her and Jett... one morning he's trying 2 kill her then all of a sudden out of the blue they start having feelings 4 each other. And what about her grandma with those vile evil witches? If they didn't follow through with the agreement then they have no rt 2 make her do anything with them and them hurting her and others. I'm really surprised that there wasn't a contest 4 her true affection and possible future love between her and the 2 men. That would b awesome 2 c especially with one being a "new friend" that was 1 a enemy and could kill her with his blood, etc. And then the prince of vampires that is very similar 2 her in many ways. It will b interesting 2 read what happens between them.
Saved by a Vampire is the first book that I have read in The Transformed series. I love a good paranormal book, werewolves, vampires, trolls, and witches… what more can I ask for? This book had it all. I devoured this book in one day and would love to read more of these characters. Will Ziamara and Jet be a couple? Will Ziamara and her grandmother ever be safe? There are so many questions left unanswered.
Maybe that is why I am unsure how I feel about this book. I read it, loved it, yet I feel like it is unfinished. There were some parts that seemed information was missing. I felt like it was rushed in some places, the story just pushed through leaving out things that would have made the story that much better.
Yet, I want more. I will be going back and reading more of this series. The characters were great and the storyline moved along. The romance between Ziamara and Jet was sweet and loving. It felt like a teenage romance which is exactly what it was. The wolves were interesting… attacking Ziamara at first meeting then being forced to protect her then actually wanting to keep her safe and being friends.
This book is a part of the Transformed series but it can be read as a standalone. You don’t have to have read any of the previous books in the series to have read this one. It does have characters that have been in some of the previous works but it doesn’t focus on that aspect of their storyline. The author did a really good job with this you get a little bit of the history in certain parts but this book completely stands apart from them and I really enjoyed finding out the connection between these new characters with the previous ones. I first met Jet and Ziamara in Lost Wolf and I instantly wanted to read their story and I’m glad I did. I really liked seeing the struggles they went through to get to where they are now. One’s a vampire the other a werewolf how could this possibly work out but they just go so well together that you just can’t help but root for them. I highly recommend this book it was an awesome and easy read.
This was a free ebook on kindle and while it says it is a standalone to me it actually read like the middle book of a trilogy. I felt like there was a whole previous story I must have missed about how Zia was turned into a vampire, then this one, then whatever comes next when she goes off to Jet's pack (Jetpack ha ha wonder if that was deliberate). It was an ok book but I found the writing kind of immature and cliche and the romance between Zia and Jet was incredibly quick an unbelievable. He tried to kill her the first time he meets her in the morning because she is a vampire. Then by that evening they are super close and the following day they are kissing.
Pros: If you want a light, fun story with lots of paranormal elements, then you'll really like this one. I found it to be an easy, entertaining read.
Cons: This isn't a terribly complex story, and some of the dialogue was silly and caused the story to drag around the action scenes. So if you're looking for an intricate plot or something edgy, you probably won't like this book.
I absolutely loved this book. The story and characters are intriguing and captivating. I couldn't put it down. Stacys' writing just makes the books come to life. She is definitely on my favourite authors list. I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Great start to a series. Love all the characters already can't wait to read the next book.
The and Thor describes the characters fully and well thought out you will fall in love be with them. You will even laugh at times and be engrossed in the novel the entire time.
